    late to the party. but I'm thinking about this for some waterfall cracks. could you attach the pole and use a shorter nozel, to push down through the faster moving water down into the cracks?

  • @BrenticusMaximus1
    @BrenticusMaximus1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I wouldn't use this for dredging personally but the hose extension idea is genius for cleaning shallow bodies of water in relation to pool/spa/waterfall maintenance, you could even hook a vacuum head to the hose for shallow step, niches and so forth. GREAT IDEA!!! Thanks 🙂👍

    • @californiamotherlodeprospect
      @californiamotherlodeprospect  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks great idea! This is not meant to dredge, a dredge is used to expose bedrock bearing gold and this is then used to collect the rich pay layer instead of running it through the dredge box with the potential of some loss. This is like a clean up tool more so.

    Is the idea to vacuum up the paydirt until the clear container is full and then empty it in a gold pan and pan it from there? If so why wouldn’t you just scoop up the paydirt with the gold pan or a shovel to begin with. Or would you be deep under water and swim back up every 5 min to empty the vacuum container. I’m sorry but I just don’t understand how this would come in handy or what this would be used for. Please explain I’m very curious.

    • @californiamotherlodeprospect
      @californiamotherlodeprospect  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      When your sniping for gold your focused on bedrock cracks, they are jammed with material and small. You bustopen the material and clear by hand until you see the gold in the crack, then you use this to collect the gold in the crack. Its not like a normal dredge to move overburrden, more of a finishing tool.

    I noticed this was discontinued due to waterproofing. Have you given any thought to trying out submersible pool vacuums that can be recharged? I’m looking into a USB one that I can connect to a solar panel to charge in the field and get 2-3 hours per day use out of. There’s a few candidates. One battery operated and a lot of plug to charge.

      California Mother Lode Prospectors I saw that. Impressive. I like how you can pack in a extra battery even if it has only 45 minutes of runtime per pack. That can be stretched out tremendously crevicing.....Im Sure it would be super useful for crevicing on land with this submerged in a tote and adding water into the crevices with buckets then pull the goodies out with all that suction.... I want to buy one soon when my health improves... Couldnt imagine a setup like that in the motherload of the yuba though with all those holes and crevice pockets as far as the eye can see
