It happens frequently. A man, a younger man, driving a $70,000 gas-guzzling pickup truck complaining about how bad the economy is. The biggest selling vehicles in the USA are Ford F-Series, Chevrolet Silverado and RAM 1500. Their reality and perception are mind-bending.

    • @elizabethfarkas6468

And I live in a small town that has a ton of these trucks driven mostly by men. They and the vehicles are very loud, and the drivers act as if they own the roads. I also perceive they do not have one iota of respect for women in general.

I'm pretty sure it all comes down to social media, between the Russians, Chinese, Musk, and now Facebook along with Fox it's a wonder people get any true information. We needed to take what happened in 2016 much more seriously and not allowed MAGA to normalize their narrative full of complete falsehoods. They have killed the first amendment, I have always understood people's right to burn flags, dress up and 'reenact' certain sides, etc etc. This is different though, free speech doesn't mean someone should be allowed to convince people that a cabal is using space lasers to burn forrests with the help of their minions in government who spread dead leaves around as kindling. MAGA is a disgrace and we've allowed them to define their own reality.

I think history will be kind to Biden, he has and is accomplishing a lot. Most effects won't be felt for awhile though and we have short memories.
But getting real, he should never had run a second time to begin with. I can't be the only one to think of him as an interim president, between Trump that HAD to go, and the next logical democrat. I don't know who that would have been, probably not Kamala. The electorate just isn't that deep. After the debate Biden had no chance and he was on shaky ground to begin with and people believe Trump will make things better for them. No, I can't explain it but con artists do in fact get away with shit.

He said that he believes that a female presidential candidate will continue to struggle among this demographic because of ingrained cultural bias.

When I was a teenager, I got drunk and punched a cop right in the face; I got a ride home. A teenage neighbor of mine, who was black, got arrested for loitering in front of his house. I was arrested for drunk driving and possession of marijuana at the age of 20. My father told me that I was pleading "guilty" as I was guilty. I went to court and pled "guilty". The judge, who was also white, would not accept my plea and found me "not guilty". Whites whining about "discrimination" is just stupid. Whites have it so tough....WHAT A JOKE! @@robynnordstrom7799 Dear lord, when did I say that clip supports voting for Trump?
Bit of a leap there, don't you think?
I voted against Trump, using Harris to do so - between the two I picked the least worst candidate.
But the idea that the lived conditions of our economic system are ABSOLUTE PERFECTION is cognitive bias at it's best, regardless of what a specific(incomplete) set of metrics say. What's minimum wage right now? How's housing affordability? What's the rate of medical bankruptcy in this country? Why do we pay significantly more for our medical treatment and have lower positive outcomes? The system *is a mess*.
So I find the gaslighting comment in this case *deep* hypocrisy - and in my opinion how Trump got back in office, by telling the American people everything was perfection, when they new it wasn't, the anti-Trump contingent stayed home.

Look at it like this.. In an ideal world, you would want the best person possible as President. If you were to rank every single US citizen by their suitability for the Office, I don't know who would be number 1. But I do know who's name would be dead last. Today we have such fragmented and politicized media that would have diluted and marginalized any similar messages we could have communicated today.

Tim, great interview! He nailed it. Most of the cultural stuff is a dialectic the Republicans dream up and not what most Democrats care about. Up in Canada, the far-right conservatives there went after Trudeau because of his government-sponsored research about crickets as food which was probably basic research and not an objective of Trudeau's government. If you fabricate stuff you can go far.
The Biden's economy baffles me. The inflation wasn't as bad as the 1970 and didn't suck nearly as bad as the first four years of Reagan. I mean, Jesus, 4.1 unemployment, 3 percent inflation, 3.2 growth in income, and the debt as a percentage of GDP was still under Trump despite the Trump tax cuts. When I got out of college in 1982, I would have loved to have had the economy.

I understand that if we were dealing with 2008 or prior rules... something like 62% didn't feel like things were on the right track... you would be able to match things up. And we might still be able to to a degree... but the question is WHY DID PEOPLE THINK EVERYTHING WAS BAD AND GETTING WORSE? Without social media, pod casts, lies, and the general circus that was put on by the trump campaign.... the same amount of people wouldn't have believed that.

The cultural issues are questionable. It is people spending more time fussing with judging others who need to be like 'me' vs. Freedom to choose for themselves. Religious arrogance is the cultural points. They sit in their running cars, playing on their phones, and have to have every party in the household with the new bells and whistles. People didn't show up because the DNC demonstrated that they were disorganized and weren't going to support their primary person. Why bothwr was the question. It is about greed. Something to check out and be investigated, for future election security.
Hearing these statistics today, makes me even more leery of this election, with the involvement of Elon Musk and all the lies and vulgar language, crazy rhetoric, 77 million people bought into this BS, I highly doubt it. This guy needs to show is his numbers, the Military Officer showed charts and where Harris’ votes would suddenly stop and the rest would be trump votes.
