@@whatsupchris I don't think that any tarantula that always takes a defensive posture or neurotically kicks hair often should make any recommended species list. I like the website Mike's tarantulas. Biting the hand that feeds you every chance it gets is not a positive trait for a pet. Then it becomes just a display creature.

Man I had a pink toe for about 4 years, his name was Oscar. He recently died a couple weeks ago, he was a dear friend of mine even tho he was just a spider. He wasn't just a spider. He was with me when I was in some really hard times in life and some really good times as well. Was my first T, and like Richard said, they never flick hair, never throw a threat pose but they have a great feeding response. Mine is 3 inches long (toe to toe) but doesn't seem to grow very much with each molt like some of my other species. She is in her third pre molt since I got her at the moment, but I am not expecting too much size increase, but I have had tiny slings of other species that are catching her up in size, and I have bought them after her. Also the first 6 months after I got her I never saw her, she just sealed off her burrow and never ate until she finally molted, but now she has stayed out all the time. Even her last molt she did on the surface.

@@walkthroughthestorm39 great! They are really pretty aren't they? Especially after a fresh molt. A real deep black that looks like velvet. Definitely one of my favourites of my fairly small collection. (11 in total) hopefully we will both have many years of pleasure keeping this species, because the lifespan is said to be as much as 30+ years in some cases. Mine may even outlive me lol! I was also lucky to have been supplied with a female which I have confirmed myself when I sex'ed the molt. It was the first and only time I have successfully confirmed the sex of an unknown T using the discarded exuvium, because my other T's are either too small, was confirmed female when I bought them or the molt gets destroyed before I can get to it.

    Long time lurker here...
Love your channel, content, and videos. Have had most of these species, well, the older ones anyhow. Haven't had luck back in the day with arboreals, but, didn't have access to your channel for solid information either.
Thanks for what you do! I'm hoping you will get a Nhandu coloratovillosus soon, as I'd love to see your husbandry, tips, and video work revolving around one of my top 10 T's!!

I started my hobby with the OBT. Got A LOT OF WARNING. But since I only display and treat it like a fine art piece. No touching and behind acrylic panes, it marvels me every time I look at it.

Many find brown tarantulas boring, but I personally love them. They look like chocolate spiders. Still have to decide on my very first T, there are so many incredible species.

What an awesome idea to have such a list! To me, I'd prefer the Bornean "neo blue" over the Thai "electric blue" for its hue, but the cobalt blue remains my absolute favorite fossorial species for its shades of blue & violet, as well as the attitude!
The pink-foot Goliath is perhaps my second favorite terrestrial species, only after the classic Goliath birdeater. Those pink hues on the feet are ornamental.

By far you produce the best tarantula videos. We are only allowed Australian tarantulas in Australia so I will likely never see these guys in the flesh. Great shots of them. Really fascinating and I love the respect you have.

I just wanted to share I got a suntiger t as a juvenile so she's a pretty decent size. Went to get crickets for her and my jumping spider and ended up getting a chaco golden knee sling. It's so tiny and cute. I can't wait till it grows up and I get to see it's colors

No Brachypelma smithi? They are so beautiful!! Somewhat a display beauty but I pick her up sometimes and she’s fine with it. Also used as spiders for horror films because of their color. Showing that it is obviously a spider with all the colors. Such a beautiful little beastie!

Okay dude. First let me just thank you for tons and tons of education with this hobby. I owe you more than you actually realize. That being said.. you have that Les Paul sitting there or what it might be I haven't tired hovering over it. Umm I started learning to play at nine. Not that far from you,if you ever need anything on the music side or just want to bend some strings,I'd be forever grateful. And lol I won't let ya down. I can jam to it all. South Central Kentucky, totally familiar with extreme eastern ky and VA. Thanks again man for what you and few others do, because if you didn't. This hobby I'm finding out wouldn't be no where near as able to do. I'm talking about the long haul, not just saying hey look at my spider.
