Lol honestly surprised A genic wasn't on the lower end of the list they get a solid 7/8 inches and are pretty good size haha still a great list Richard!
I love that this video is 11:11 minutes long for some reason Also I hate that like every single youtube video needs to have some kind of disclaimer on it these days. Hearing you say that a video about giant tarantulas is going to make so many people mad is so sad.
It is silly people get angry over a person's outlook on what they see is their top 10 on whatever topic it is, this week giant tarantulas. Not everyone is going to agree, but should just see it being how the TH-camr (this being Richard) sees it, not something set in stone. It's something fun, and enjoyable.
Hello, I just want to say that your videos are kinda helping me get over my fear of spiders. I have severe arachnophobia and it’s hard for me watch and look at spiders but as I’m learning about them more it’s starting to get easier. All I need to do is find the strength and courage to hold a tarantula in my hand.
Jeez I couldn't! What is it like to keep? I have 4 new world, starting with an evil Rose Hair that I have to be careful with as she bites and is very nasty. The other three are all different species and pretty calm if you don't mess with them and one is about 6 inches at least so pretty chunky... I am not good at doing anything other than love them from behind the glass, feed and water them. Evening cleaning out is stressful, especially with the threat posturing and striking witch of a Rose Hair! She is about 9 years old and gets crankier with age. That is why I am not sure I could cope with a King baboon. Is it difficult to clean them out with their speed and attitude? I'd be pooping my pants every time.
What about G. pulchra? I read that they can get up to 8in (hence why they are called the "black labs" of the hobby). Great video again Richard, was a fun video to watch and see more pretty tarantulas!
I was hesitant watching this video because there is so much misinformation. But this was a good video. I like that you explain your reasons for it being on the list and where it was placed. So well done.
Your videos are so awesome and I really enjoy them even though I'm terrified of spiders. Your videos look effortless but I know you put a lot of hard work in them.
Hi! I’m a fairly new curly haired tarantula 🕷️and a Asian Black Forest scorp 🦂mom! Your videos have been a huge help and I love watching them! I was completely lost before I found your channel and I actually was so grateful for you mentioning tarantula cribs. The first enclosure I used for my sling, she escaped on her first night! I spy an "Exo Terra" terrarium at 5:18 (actuall there might be a lot of them) and I'd like to say that those are really great!! I got three of them and never had a problem. Also, that's a really cool TOP 10 list! Great shots, amazing spiders, awesome music and a really charismatic narrator! ^^ And the room looks marvelous! Keep it up!!
I have to say that the most impressive tarantula I have ever owned is the Apophysis, even more so than the blondi and stirmi. The most aggressive feeding response, quickest growth, and absolutely massive final form. The reality is likely that all three of the theraphosa are interchangeable depending on the individual specimen.
Hey Richard great video, I had a L. Parahybana she topped out at around 9 1/4” leg span and weighed according to my digi scale 4.65 oz. Trying to get her to stay on the scale was a bit tricky but was accomplished! That size was obtained in a little over 3 years really fast growing and the size increase upon each molt was staggering! Thanks Richard for all do for the hobby I am going to become a subscriber of your channel bro love Tuesday’s!!!🕷
my favourite when i kept tatantulas (approx 45 diff species, all individually interesting) was my "purple bloom-pamphobetus memory blank" :-) . when fed, large locust generally, she would stand on tiptoe and slowly dance and circle over the food chewing and webbing.. never failed to fascinate me.. beautiful to look at too, when in new moult her fresh deep colour shone..
Arachnophobe here and I gotta say, these tarantulas are really cool. Curious though, how do you avoid arson considering "kill it with fire" seems to be a common reaction to spiders?
As a teacher in Thailand I encountered and for the kids had to kill a Tarantula that was a conservative eighteen inches long with menacing black fangs. There are yet unexplored wildernesses even in Thailand. Larger tarantulas are out there. But these are beautiful arachnids you knowledgeably share with us. Thank you.
