Prostreet is, to this day, one of my favourite racing games of all time. It was mad in Speed, refined in all aspects and the cars... Better than some of today's racing games, easily

Why can't they change the game-engine of the current games back to this game-engine! The frostbite engine they use is really not meant for racing games, it makes the cars feel like toys.
They don't have any good game engine specialized for racing games beside Frostbite. RenderWare & EAGL is dead long time ago. What they have now is Frostbite & heavily customized Source engine that is owned by BioWare (I don't know what their game engine name is).
@@blakecooper669 if you look at the main developer, NFS The Run is actually developed by Black Box game and their last NFS aswell, same developer who develop Hot Pursuit 2 up to Undercover. Safe to say they have a lot of experiences regarding car handling compared to current developer.

This game grew on me, I remember hating it so much cause I just came from carbon, I thought my hard earned $25 bucks from doing chores and slowly saving up (I was like 12 😂) went to waste, but I played it more and more and loved it for what it was
When I downloaded it for free, I just liked the fact that everything here was so detailed (for little me at that time), that I had to take into account the aerodynamics, drive and clutch of the car, although I didn’t understand it at all and took what looked the coolest
i haven’t used like half of these cars in all my years of playing this because i always stuck with the same ones, so i might have to give this game another go
The turbo and supercharger sounds are really great in this game. For turbo charger take a look on R34 when he change gears. For Supercharger, take a look at the Ford GT

Sound design in Blackbox era NFS games (MW05, Carbon, ProStreet, etc) is so damn good even to this day. Way better than pretty much every other racing game. Physics are also so damn good, sad that current NFS titles can’t come close to how good the physics were in these.
This was the game that got me to first ever see what the heck a Koenigsegg was, and instantly fell in love with that brand of car. the V8 in those cars are effing monstrous sounding! Gives me goosebumps every time. Love it!
2003-2007 nfs games had the best car sounds from any game ever made, the r34, murcielago and Carrera GT are utter eargasm. These were also the times when the tier 1 Alfa Romeo Brera sounded like an r34 lmao

NFS Pro Street got some good rides on Next Gen but on PS2/WII versions the car engine sounds realistic as it's from Most Wanted and Carbon, pretty flawless.
Engine configuration, firing order, spool/whine, bov type, gearbox (may different between H-shifter, dogbox, sequential), n.a/forced induction. Most detailing sound source.
