Great, honest review. I played the heck out of it, moved on to more complex dungeon crawlers, and then came back to it. At some point the other dungeon crawlers just seemed overly complex by comparison. If I want a dungeon crawler board game that is complex and has tons of rules and fiddly bits, I might as well just play regular D&D. This is the perfect board game dungeon crawler for me.
It isn’t D&D or Gloomhaven for sure but it stays in my collection because I can play a game of this in the time it takes to set up a game of D&D or Gloomhaven!
This is the first DnD board game that I'm getting in the mail tomorrow. As a veteran board gamer and dungeon crawl lover, I'm really looking forward to this! I hear there are plenty of additional BGG scenarios out there, and you can combine this with other DnD sets. Sounds amazing to me!
I houserule out the encounter card from flipping one every black to flipping every 3 rooms just for some breathing room. The deck is just too aggressive otherwise
Thank-you, I really appreciate it! Next step I would consider Gloomhaven or if you're looking for something similar to Ravenloft, Arena: The Contest. Arena is the next video I'm working on
Dungeon crawler is my favorite genre by far. Gloomhaven, Arena the Contest, and the D&D line of board games are the most common for me to play. Out of my top 3, Arena is one of the best. If you're talking about D&D games specifically, I would go with Wrath of Ashardalon

This makes me want to dig out my copies and play again. I was all into this for a while. I even added painted mini's from Dungeon Command.

Nice review & explanation. I will try this game soon. I will use a house rule however that each player gets his/her healing surge token per scenario.
I used to play this with my old gaming group, thanks for the memories
This is by far the best explanation video I've found!!! Awesome job dude!!!💪👍🍻
This was really well done, nice work!
Board Game Time-Lapses Thanks! I appreciate it
I need someone to explain all new board games to me like this!
Thanks a lot. Great review.
I just bought this game.
Naturally, I got the book on sale and a miniature.
LOL
I play this with Wrath of Ashardalon treasure cards.

Or you can roll the D20. Odd is an encounter. Even, no encounter.
Oooh.
Well done!!!
Good video. Keep up the great work.
So if this is a gateway game, what is considered the next step in dungeon crawler games?
Thank-you, I really appreciate it!

The lightning scared me
Looking for a board game thats simple like Risk but that takes place in a medieval fantasy world.
What is the track playing in the background? I feel like I've heard it before.
Have you played enough of them to be able to do a comparison? I'm trying to decide which to get. thanks!

are objects being carried over to the next scenario or like leveling up they get discarded?
If you play through the quests like a campaign, item treasures do carry over. levels, however, are always reset at the start of a quest.
