Thanks Simon and Neil...really informative review. I'm in the market for new irons -- currently play to a 10 handicap, but turning 70 soon and have begun losing distance. I plan to test the Apex Ai200, TaylorMade P790 and the Srixon ZX5. Thanks again for the great content.

Great video. I bought the AI Smokes late spring this year after a fitting. My handicap was in the low 20s at the time. I’ve played a lot since then and am now down to around 15 and I’m wondering if they’re still the right club for me. If I could get down to single figures in 2025 I’d be over the moon. Do you think I should I stick with the AI Smokes for now or would the i200s be better to achieve my goal? New irons every year could get expensive 😅
Hi Andrew, ideally we'd suggest changing irons every 5-10 years for most golfers but that may be tricky with your handicap drop. The question I'd ask yourself is 'do the ai smoke do want I want them to?' If it's still a yes, then there's no reason to swap them out. The i200 is ultimately less forgiving and less distance-orientated, but if your goal is to access difficult parts of the green with the additional height and spin then consider changing, yes. We'd still advise you go for a fitting before committing to any changes though, as you may not notice a height difference because of how it's achieved (faster ball speed could still help achieve a better apex over spin or launch depending on impact conditions)
Ti Fusion proves that black is slimming!# Looking at performance there are some stand outs: Apex Pro outperforms both the CB and MB - longer, faster ball speed, more peak height, more spin. Other than tour pros, why would anyone choose the MB or CB over the Pro. The Ti Fusion just out performs the Ai200 but I am not convinced that there is enough performance difference given the price differential - IMO buy the Ai200 over the Ti Fusion and use the money saved on some lessons
Couldn't get on with the Wilson Dynapower forged, and went to the ai200s. Where do you think they fit forgiveness-wise with the Mizuno JPX hot metal pro/MP 245?
Thanks to the profile we'd see them as being pretty much inline with the JPX925 Pro, yet they have a similar loft to the TM P790. Hope that helps Mike.
If you would consider secondhand clubs from previous years in your test, what model do you think has stood the test of time is a great value for the 15 handicapper?

Lovely to hear Brian, you can't make a bad choice between those three models. Let us know how you get on. 👍

Agreed! This should be used as a starting point for you, not something you make a decision from. The best eyes are still your own

Thanks for your input Justin.

The Callaway Apex CF16 were amazing, not hollow body but a forged cavity back and a great shape.
@@todaysgolfer thank you very much
I believe the Ti Fusion is that color because titanium and carbon steel are different colors and would look weird without the PVD.
Thanks for your input.
