To be honest I play better in the rain. It forces you to make excellent contact. If you don't you'll chunk it and make a bad shot it adds extra pressure
Here in Houston, many courses shut down when it rains enough to get muddy, citing damage to the course turf and erosion concerns. It's a shame, because I tend to hit straighter shapes in the rain. - (less spin?) So, when it rains - and it rains often - I head to TopGolf for a range session and fish tacos. I'll be back on the course when the mud dries up.
Billy Pierce That is too bad, but people have called me a Duck 🦆 before because I like playing in the rain, not because I hit in the water. 😂 Haven’t been to a Top Golf yet. None around me, but looks like fun. 💯
#zacradford is in Scotland right now hitting crazy stingers. A great follow on Instagram, but can't wait to see the TH-cam videos that come from his trip.
Great Stuff! I especially liked your "foot" club! A lot of detail and explanation on your thought process for both rain gear as well as play. I think this will help with folks trying to sort out what is important when making purchases regarding their equipment.
Thank you so much- I played my first comp in the rain and played trash came home watched this video and then the week after in the rain after watching your advice shot -6 under my handicap and won the comp.
Tom That is awesome news 💯 I am glad that the video was helpful but you clearly were determined and went out there with a great attitude. Have you subscribed to the channel 🤔 If so, let me know what color you would like your name to be on my subscriber walk in my studio.
A Golfers Walk Going to get the rain suit and rain gloves you use. Thanks for the links. The golf stores never have much and I always feel that they are pushing the cheap stuff. I figure that if I buy the right ones, they should last for 5-10 years.
Surely it's gotta be easier with a walking buggy with an umbrella holder fitted? Then you could string small towels under it etc... Great video - thanks.
My thoughts is never rush. Everyone else gets to the ball, grabs a club, dashes out of the umbrella and hits a quick shot. I force myself to slow down and concentrate more. But if it's really heavy rain I won't go out unless it's a competition. I don't enjoy playing all dressed up and wearing glasses is an issue. Winter rain is a no-no as it's too cold for my back.
I think most players feel the same way. I enjoy it as a challenge and something that I need to practice and get comfortable with since I will have to play in the rain in tournaments.
Used a 4 iron. Played it in the middle of my stance and closed the face until it was pointing to my final target. I swing down the line that I need the ball to start on so that it doesn't hook until it has cleared the trees.
Do you like to play in the rain? Comment below if you will start a round of golf if it is raining.

@@TroyMacLean That is a great attitude to take. Have you played in a tournament when it rained?
@@agolferswalk indeed I have . It was a smaller one day tournament though.

That was a great shot from trees. #zacradford would like that shot.

Thanks Pamela! Not the typical foot wedge for sure. I hope it helps folks because it took me a long time to figure out what is important.

A Golfers Walk I’m definitely subscribed-red please!!
@@tombowman5281 You got it Tom. Keep an eye out in future videos for your name going up on the wall.
Lots of info. Very complete.
Thank you CT. I hope you got some value and entertainment out of the video.

Cool vid big dawg! They dont know we get it in out here in GA. Rain and...sometimes snow. lol . 💯✌🏿⛳
Hard core golfers in GA. Need some of those orange balls though in that snow.
Playing in the rain has never been my strong suit. Love the video. Just subbed 💪🏼
Golf Clan 🙏 for the sub and the kind words. 👊🏼
A Golfers Walk of course ⛳️👊🏼
Some good info about golfing equipment!
Thank you.

Alison, that is good idea if you have a push cart. That day was tough with the wind too.

That is a great point to slow down. It's never good getting out of your normal rhythm.
I don't like playing in the rain, but will play as long as it is a light rain. I won't start a round in a steady rain.

What club did you use to hit that shot from the trees.

Sure 'tis a grand soft day.
Karl_ that it was. 💯
Karl_ Thanks for watching and be sure to subscribe. 👍🏼🙏
What are rain gloves that you are using? Mine don’t work.
Footjoy Rain Grip rain gloves.
Like, no. I will start a round if the rain is light and going to stop soon. Not into 4hrs of rain golf.
Golf Dude A full round of rain 🌧 makes for a long day for sure 💯
Not that critical to play in the rain. We usually play cards until the rain stops.
You are crazy, but fun to watch.
Thanks, I think.
I love playing in the wind and rain me, cuts half the field out, and the half that do turn up are miserable and don't want to be there, money 🤑💰💵💸
Simply Golf you are so right. Great attitude. It will serve you well.
