One tip I always found helpful as well is to practice while wearing your rain gear a few times to get use to the feel and swing change while wearing them.

Oh poor Lester he does not look happy, always enjoy your vlogs from the both of you there is a bit humour which I love but also good solid knowledge and advice.
I don't mind playing in the wind and rain as long as it's not a gale force or downpour, played a few of my best rounds in steady light drizzle/rain and it's about the only time I wear gloves when playing golf chaps as started playing many many moons ago now not wearing one and felt comfortable doing so...

A lot of the seniors at my club don’t play in bad weather but then most of them are retired so can play any day they like. If I’ve a day off work I want to play, whatever the weather!

Left and right rain glove Dan 👌 also keep two sets and change - also in winter to keeps hands warm. Rain trousers and lightweight tights, hand towel around back of neck - and waterproof shoes and bag a must - oh and make sure your grips are in good order 👌

Great tips for the rain. One thing I try to do in competitive situations is, knowing that my competition probably does not want to be playing, I push hard the first few holes to get a birdie or two and get up in the match quick. I know that once I do, it will be much harder for them to catch me given the worsening conditions.

I personally rarely play in the rain over the summer. Fear of lightning is a big issue, plus I’m getting wimpier as I get older! You boys who get to play all “winter” should be experts in rain play. Our rain in the winter is called snow 😃 Poor Lester btw! However, I can see him racking up quite a tab!!

best advice I can offer: always carry and use two umbrellas. Keep one on the push buggy keeping you dry while you push the bag, and take the second brolly with you when you need to move away from the bag e.g. looking for balls or waiting to putt on the green. I haven't worn wet weather gear in forever, no need.

Always go with the trusty Galvin Green suit, expensive purchase but served me well over the years. Two towels, and a separate ball cleaner, always. No gloves for me, but something you didn’t mention, footwear. Footjoy DryJoy Tour shoes, best ever made. Feet have to be dry.

I always have a pair of rain gloves and will wear waterproofs. Dependant on the forecast, I will err on the side of caution and have thin layered clothes that mean I don't feel restricted. A short sleeve waterproof top over a base layer is good for most summer rain.

Maybe a point, give the clubs a good dry down, stops the shafts getting rusty (unless your a graphite fanboy), also fill shoes with newspaper and leave to dry, so no mouldy shoes next time you venture out.

Cricky, did Lester paint his trousers on today ??? He's too old for those now he's north of 40 !! I also loved his acting, you no longer have an account ! Flounced out in fine style ! He was so good he could be a soap star ! Take care of yourselves over the next month, I think golf will open in a week or 2 once it looks like people are complying with lockdown. Lets hope anyway. Lester, help yourself to the Mars Bar stock to get you through lockdown, you have my permission !! Leave the cheery flapjacks though, Dan is having those ! Can't wait for the Masters, at least there will be more coverge this year and from our point of view, it gives us something to do during lockdown.

I'm amazed how many people get clubs etc wet. My top tips to stop this: Put cover over top of golf bag to stop rain getting in, keep grips dry by keeping clubs out of bag for minimum time possible, take golf glove off between shots and keep dry in pocket, keep a dry towel in bag pocket if possible, when waiting to play shot e.g. when putting keep grip protected under brolly. Get a waterproof bag can be a good thing. Rain gloves can be great.

I can feel a series of videos on clothes bubbling up? Base layers. Gloves, Hats, Waterproof trousers vs over trousers. Waterproof Jackets with zips vs Smocks that go over your head. High tech vs wool and cotton. Life has moved on so far in the last 10 years - the days when I would wear three pullovers and two pairs of trousers and two layer hats, long gone.
Then food and drink in the wet / winter. And as play starts to get slow in the winter can you recommend some camping gas stoves we can use on the tee?
