Loved reading Dean's dad's column in the Anglers mail when I was a kid. I'm out on the rivers fishing matches twice a week now, that's probably because I was so fascinated by Frank's stories.
Great video nice to see proper fishing your dad would be proud of you,I was lucky enough to meet him a few times, when I came down on the Trent, and when he came to the a Wyche anglers with your mum,and was next to him on a match on hurleston reservoir had a good laugh, great guy
Best way to fish a river when conditions are right. My favorite method of fishing by far, lots of bites from a variety of species and always the chance of a big fish.
A wonderful video - my dad introduced me to stick float fishing when I was a lad and now I’ve a son of my own I’ve started to pass on the method to him. On its day it a brilliant and chilled way to get a good net of fish. Many thanks for the film.
Cracking Video Dean, I used to love reading your Dads column in the Anglers Mail back in the day, it was the main reason I used to buy it. I was lucky enough to have met him once at the Fishing Tackle show at The NEC lovely genuine man, I remember saying that I loved reading his column's and he replied keep buying them, ha ha, which I did of course, it was a sad day for you all when he passed and the angling community lost a great man. I look forward to watching more of your video's Dean, Thanks.
Great little video Dean. Brought back my memories of fishing the Trent, I missed the really good days on there but caught it as it ended. Great fishing on the stick for those quality roach and the odd chub. I used the Drennan stick float rod, still got the old IM8 waggler coupled with a Shimano Super Match RE reel 👍
Nice video Dean thankyou, the river wye looks very similar to the river barrow here in Ireland, only we don't have the chub and barbel. Can you tell me how you decide on the weight of stick float you use?

Blimey you got some legs on that box
Dean’s aren’t bad either…. 🤣
Father and son. The masters. Do you plumb up
Only very basically, them just keep running the float through to map the peg.
Superb way to catch fish. Chip off the old block.
