I swear Cowcat has been cutting onions. This ending just hits me on an emotional level, especially when it comes to seeing your parental figure(s) growing old and frail before passing away, and there's simply nothing you can't do about it.
The actor who played Brok also did an amazing job when Brok finds Graff in the streets. Brok just strikes me as being so done with it all, like he's desensitised to death. He's obviously seen a lot of violence and distress in his time. Yet he uses it to stay calm and comfort Graff.
No problem, got several more to upload today as I try to push through for the others that are more like this in that they're a pretty good outcome but not the canon ending.
This was the first ending I got and it blew me away with just how deep the endings are and how flexible a story Cowcat managed to tell. This happened purely because I'm the kind of gamer who will stubbornly refuse to get captured if there is any way around it. Most games just force the issue, but Cowcat not only allowed me to persist and let my efforts blow up in my face, but built an entire epilogue dealing with the fallout from that situation. There are very few game developers who can pull that kind of deep divergent storytelling off in their games, let alone on their second project.
17:31 Unless I'm mistaken, this is the only time Graff hugs Brok, and isn't shown squirming or uncomfortable from physical contact. Considering the abuse implications (Graff being a physical abuse victim), whether this means something happened to change that when he went back and saw Lia, or his life and emotions are so broken from losing everything that mattered to him in such a short time that he just doesn't care about that anymore, is up in the air I think.
@@brissadlr9939 It's possible, and if you ask me, very likely, that his biological father (Remn) is the one that abused Graff. It can't be Lia because Brok wouldn't talk so highly of her if he knew she was abusing Graff, who he's overprotective of, and it can't be Brok because Lia would never have trusted Brok to look after her son if he was the culprit, and it would have had to be a Drummer, so that lowers the suspect pool further. Not helping Remn's case is that the alleyway leading to the sewers with Sin's gun has a wanted poster with Remn's face and name on it. If you'll read what I got to say, here's my hypothesis/theory/whatever. Forewarning, it's a wall of text: I think Brok killed Remn and Lia had to use the oblivion drug to smooth things over after it happened. Reasonings: - Brok's lie detector test proves he murdered somebody - Brok's violence stat goes up in nightmare sequence 2 if he peeks through the window with what looks like a corpse covered by a cloth and what appears to be a clear, plastic body bag. Cross reference the ears and glasses with the picture labelled 'Remn' from the bonus scene 'frozen'. It's a match. This implies Brok killed Remn - Brok does not recognize Remn from the wanted poster despite being his wife's ex-husband - Graff confirms in dialogue with Klay that his biological father's name is Remn, but he doesn't remember him much since he vanished from his life while he was about 5 years old - Graff does not remember getting beaten until the 'Fall' ending - Sin's motivation for his misdeeds in chapter 1 was to get Oblivion to make Dee forget about the infidelity thing and let him back in the house, confirming Oblivion as the amnesia drug, specifically used to make children forget trauma, but this proves it works on adults too since he was going to use it on Dee - Lia was a medical doctor as evidenced by the pill shaped award in nightmare sequence 1 and her work with medical professional Dr. Gherkin, meaning she likely would have easy access to drugs such as oblivion - Lia worked with Dr. Gherkin, who is a member of the government. Lia was likely a VIP herself - Everything from the bonus scene 'frozen'. In particular, Graff's and NMER_3's messages on the board labelled 'REMN TECHNOLOGIES' in the game's decodeable language, and the man in the pod The next 2 points are more like conjecture: - If Graff knew Brok murdered Remn, he would be afraid of Brok. To this day, Graff still doesn't fully trust Brok despite living with him for several years - If Brok knew he murdered Remn, a perpetual rift between him and Lia and Graff would be there. Brok operates on emotions and has self-hate problems, blaming himself as the source of everyone else's problems even when it's unrealistic to do so. I can see him leaving the house in shame if Lia doesn't step in
@@ryuka-ruki6474 I think you might just have hit the nail on the head there. I thought that Brok might have killed Remn on his second run through the timeline (as seen starting in the Canonical ending) creating a stable time loop. I suspect Remn is the figure in the capsule, may be the Creator the Director and Wes refer to throughout the story and in their final fight, and will be the villain in the sequel.
I wanna point out that like, 40 to 50 years went by, and while brok aged, graff hadn’t aged a day. He looks exactly the same. Meaning not much time passed for him. Remember when shay brought up time dilation at one point? Well, what if it took so long for graff to get back because it took that long in real time. It may of seem like seconds to arrive to him, and maybe like a week went by of him trying to fix things, but it really took years for him to arrive in the past, and just as many years to get back.
This ending actually freaks me out. I dunno, it hits to home on an emotional level. Seeing thousands of years and aging fly by like that in an instant. Oof
I thought fall and broken detective was sad. But "Till the end of time" hit such an emotional note with me, i think i was crying for like 5 minutes, and the ending theme didnt help either. 😭😭😭
Over this weekend, i watched this ending again & you know what i found out?. When, Graff stepped into shay's time mushine & went back to 3030. He disappears for... 50 years!!!, Can you believe it?. If anyone's Wandering how i figured this out here's what i did: when i herd, Brok say"Until... 3085 A.R." i quickly ⏸ the video an did the math on my calculator also i did the same thing with, Brok's age: if, Graff disappeared when, Brok was 35. And 50 years passed, that means, Brok would've been... 85-years-old! When, Graff finally came back mind blowing
Drummer is a tad bitter sweet but Graff can visit brok whenever, and ott is with him. Till the end of time is by far the most melancholy ending. Not only did graff went back in time but he failed to save his mom and his friend ott. Completely unable to change their fates. During that time about 50 years has passed, brok is on his death bed and gets reunited with his son only for brok to pass away soon as well. Graff will be all alone no matter how you cut it.

Yeah they certainly knew how to make people feel
Mad props to Graff's voice actor here, they did a great job on this ending in particular
Michael Kovach voiced him!

That ending is the most wholesome tear jerking thing I've seen on a point and click. Thanks for sharing!

That made me wonder if his biological father was to blame

Alternate Title: Graff loses everyone he loves and cares about because the universe is a complete bitch to him.
The special ending track for this ending is my favorite song in the soundtrack.
Does anyone knows its name ?

He tried to save anyone..so brok abandoned his Work as a Detective and Boxer to become the new director of the Slums, And Be with Graff in the end..

This kind of ending is just too sad
Other bad endings don’t fail the game
I got this ending on my first playthrough. Poor Ott though. 😢

Can you believe it?. If anyone's

Don’t know if this ending or Drumer is sadder
I think this one, as in Drumer; Graff can still visit and see Brok.
Ott is also still alive in Drumer.
This one. Graff basically loses both Ott and Brok. This is like the 3rd saddest ending behind Fall and Broken Detective.
Drummer is a tad bitter sweet but Graff can visit brok whenever, and ott is with him. Till the end of time is by far the most melancholy ending. I wanna build a time machine go to all of the year and change everything
This compares to Bean and Zøg from Disenchantment. Part 3 Episode 9.
Brok is a way better father than Zog though.
Ho wow i wonder how all this happen 🤨
No. That didn’t work Ah forget it
I choose Brok because he is a Boxer and like a hero when Graff and friends watch As Brok become a Boxer HERO
A happy Boxer ending for Brok and Graff and thanks for playing is done for 111/111 Ads 100% is done
