Bro what are you talking about? You can feel there's something off about this season. Even in 2021 when they were hovering around .500 at the deadline, the vibes were way better than they are now. In no way should they give up ANYTHING to get a pitcher and OFer at the DL. I'm not saying give up on the season, but this isn't the time to be going all in. Lick your wounds and start planning for 2025. If you don't understand this to be true then you're in denial or just not understanding what's going on here.
I was a new listener last year & sorry that I haven't been listening this year.....I will be listening to your podcast from now on.....your insight is spot on.. Thanks for all that you do!! Our Braves are facing a lot right now & have been.
I don't think there's enough trade capital to fill all the holes on this team without tanking your next few seasons. You need a solid outfielder, you need a backup middle infielder good enough to hold down 2b for basically the rest of the regular season. You have Smith-Shawver, you have Schwellenbach, you have Anderson and Ynoa due back at some point with Anderson being at Gwinnett already. I know we have some pretty dense fans with a 1 game memory span but in reality Elder eats innings just fine. Better than most guys you are going to get on a cheap trade to do just that. You have to pick a lane. If Fried doesn't come back healthy the season is a wash. This lineup IS NOT winning a world series without Fried, Sale and Lopez healthy. They probably won't make the playoffs in that case they are barely scraping by as is. Get the bats you need, assume Fried us going to be fine. If he isn't, oh well there's nothing to be done for it. You cant miracle your way out of a season where everyone is hurt. Its just terrible luck and that's just life sometimes.
No trade capital needed in some cases, Braves signed Whit Merrifield, so between him and Nacho Alvarez they have some middle infielders to fill spots. Smith-Shawver throw around 70 pitches yesterday, so he's very close to coming back, Anderson is probably slightly behind him, and Ynoa pitched his first game back last Tuesday.
be kewl. play the middle. we got wild card locked up, make small moves to get thru the stretch and see if we get hot in October. plenty of talent to make noise, and we are do for good luck

Everydayer.. I think we should just stand down at the deadline.. maybe make some small future moves, but this clearly is not the season.. we don’t need to completely decimate our farm system for a shot in the dark at the WS
You never know though. Get hot in the playoffs. Nobody thought we would get out of the first round in 2021 and we won the World Series. Then in 2022 and 2023 we felt on top of the world just to get knocked out by the Phillies in the first round. Baseball is weird. Braves shouldn't give up.
Agreed. I get we are in a win now situation with the roster on paper but just not our year I’d say do what ya can see if you can go on a Phillies type run in the WC spot and give it all ya got
I totally agree..I just think AA won't make it look like he punted on this season for no other reason but how it might effect attendance. I just hope we don't go over that last luxury tax threshold where we lose draft position and bonus pool.
We're gonna be just fine! We've got Elder, Dodd, Winans, Laureano, and Zak Short! No worries! It's great! Olson has been on a heater, and Orlando is back in All-Star form. This team can't miss! Keep filling out those lineup cards, Snit!
Sensory nerves vs motor nerves. Sensory nerves supple sensation to the surface tissue (skin), which doesn't effect any muscle contractions. Conversely, motor nerves control how muscles contract. Sensory nerves are more annoying and painful, but SHOULDNT change performance as soon as the inflammation subsides.
Checking in with you! One of your every dayers! Going strong for some years! Thanks for all you do and continue to give us here on locked in braves!!🎉🎉🎉❤😊
They said it was over when we won the series in 21. The problem with standing down is that when you are a team who's window is well defined through controlling manageable contracts, young talent, great deals, and a brilliant GM, you either have it or you don't. When blood is in the water you either go for the kill or you don't. The braves are going fo need a big arm at some point and we need to sure up the outfield. We should get Tarik or someone that is going to make a huge difference to go along with Sale, Lopez and whoever we run out there next year. Fried is probably in Anahiem or somewhere next year because AA doesn't want to pay more than he believes is necessary. He needs to pay someone bc we are blesses to have theses club friendly deals. Will Ozzie or Acuna get mad if we pay a proven winner lol right
John Gil is impressive. This is my first time watching anything more than highlights. He is a real prospect. There is a little furcal to his game. He is one I’m keeping an eye on
The one positive I can think of for Max pitching in the All-Star game is him only pitching one inning. If this happens during a regular season game and he goes on in the game and pitches multiple innings with the issue it could be much worse afterwards. At least he was only ever going to go one inning tops there so in a weird way it could have protected him from himself there.
I thought we had a chance until Max Fried and Ozzie Allies got hurt I think we should just stand down and focus on trying to re-sign Max Fried and aim for the 2025 season there are too many injuries happening and tis is just not our year.
NO WAY! AM I giving up on this season as long as we make postseason then we have a chance plus we still have plenty of offense plus we should get to see nacho play and we need to trade for a starter
I’m selling on this season. Get some top prospects for some of these guys and get ready for next year. I no this isn’t the Braves way. It’s just my opinion. N I get it. We won a World Series in 2021. But this season is cursed
At what point do you say that it is just not the Braves year and just stay with what you have save your prospects and reset for next year? It just feels like the Braves are treading water? Why give up your good prospects to compete this post season when the likely results is losing in the wildcard round because of so many injuries.
What have they given up yet? Whit Merrifield was a free agent, so nothing is lost there, and Nacho Alvarez comes from the minor league system. Even in 2021 they only gave up Bryce Ball, Kasey Kalich, Alex Jackson, and Pablo Sandoval to get Joc Pederson, Jorge Soler, Eddie Rosario, and Adam Duvall. So it doesn't always take big prospect to get impactful players in your lineup. Not sure why you think they'd lose in the wildcard round? Both the Rangers and D'backs were wildcard team who both made the World Series last year, even the Phillies where wildcards the year before to make the World Series.
Before the ASG, I was thinking the Braves should package Fried, Minter and AJSS to the Orioles for Holliday and Austin Hays. I think that would have been a good deal for both teams
Merrifield has underhit his metrics so far this year, so hopefully he'll be a better hitter with the Braves. Perhaps they can make some adjustments to at least make him just an average hitter which is what Ozzie has been this year with 100 wRC+, and Merrifield should be a solid fielder defensively as well.
I know AA wont do it but I'd bring up Nacho and AJSS and go out and get an innings eater and a single OF bat. I wouldnt go over that last luxury tax threshold here for the chance we have. This season is cursed. Hedge your bet.
Now this means Elder will be sticking around... im starting to think his first half last year was a fluke... and how many warning track shots is Olson going to hit this season...??
So now we are out of Strider and Acuna for the rest of the season. Albies is out for 8 weeks. Fried for 2 weeks. (15 days). Injuries are just adding on to the nightmare.
I am almost certain AA will be a buyer, but please don’t blow up the farm this year. This isn’t the year to go all in and if Fried and MH2 continue to extend their days on the IL, we should probably retool by selling high on Ozuna and split D’Arnaud/Murphy and Acuna DHs in ‘25. Yes, I’m aware Ozuna has been a big part of the Braves offense. He could fetch us a nice arm, like Nelson Cruz for Joe Ryan.
This season is like a nightmare. I see we still need to make the playoffs. I don't see it happening. I hate to give up on my Braves. This season is just bad luck.
Thx for putting on your fandom hat. This team is absolutely frustrating. To me Matt Olson has been killing the momentum in the top of the lineup. He’s not moving the line. I’m sure he’ll pop off when the rest of the team goes cold… bc 2024.
Erick Fedde, Jessie Winker, Brent Rooker., Kevin Pillar and now Brandon Lowe . It's too much to pull. Nacho has 10 days to make a long lasting impression. I really thought the rotation for the second half was going to be: Sale,Fried,Lopez,Schwellenbach and Morton.
Why would the Braves need all those players? Pillar is redundant with Duvall and Laureano on the roster who are both right handers, Brent Rooker is a DH only as he's arguably the worst defensive outfielder -17 DRS, -9.0 UZR/150, -15 OAA in just 929 innings (less than a years worth), and Braves just signed Whit Merrifield along with calling up Nacho Alvarez, so right now Lowe wouldn't be needed.
@@MassBoost well... you DFA Laureano (Pillar is having by far a much better season) Winker is a must have piece, Duvall can't seem to find the way to hit RHP. Rooker he is bad with the glove but at some point you have to value one thing over the other (Rosario and Soler trades are a perfectly good example) you can play him for 7 or 8 innings and then bring someone for defence and Matt Alson cannot hit a baskeball with a guitar even if you toss it to him, Harris II will be having "spring training" in august . Ignacio will have 10 days to show he can manage 2nd base for the next 8 weeks and if he does not well, you need someone stablished who can. Fedde, you are just one injury away in the rotation to officially panic , López will enter uncharted territory now, Morton has been inconsistent , you just don't what to expect from AJ, Spencer and or Waldrep either.
@@eros587 Since Laureano became a Brave, they adjusted his batting stance and he's hitting the ball harder than ever, with an average 94.7 mph exit velocity, previous high was 89.8 mph back in 2018 when he was a good hitter. Not only that, he has produced a .391 xwOBA down in Gwinnett since becoming a Brave, and .392 xwOBA up in Atlanta, along with being a good defender with one of the best arms in the majors, sitting in the 93rd percentile this year(perfect for right field). I'll take my chances with him over Pillar who has outproduced his metrics and has a .311 xwOBA (.310 is MLB average right now). How are Rosario and Soler good examples? Rosario was around a league average defender who use to be good at hitting right handers, and Soler was just good all around hitter, but his -11 DRS, -12.7 UZR/150, and -7 OAA in 2021 were far better than what Rooker has produced, and Soler only cost them Kasey Kalich who was a unknown fringe pitcher. Plus Braves don't need Rooker next year, so it's a bit of wasted traded capital for this year. Also it's not just Nacho, it's Nacho and Merrifield. Not sure why you think Lopez is in uncharted territory? He's thrown as many as 188.2 innings in a season. Don't forget to add Ian Anderson and possibly Huascar Ynoa to your pitchers list, as both are pitching in the minors right now, Anderson is up to 70 pitches just like Smith-Shawver now on their ways back.
@@MassBoost a bounch of bla bla bla stats with Laureano cherry picking what you want , Stanton is one of the players that hits the ball the hardest and Arraez is quit the opposite if you know what I mean . Ignacio is unprooven, not a prospect known for his batting skills and Merritfield , wasn't he DFA by the phillies? For the great season he is having? Who oh by the way got hurt during a fielding drill , he is a backup not an everydayer and with an anemic bat. What capital? The Braves have one of the worst farms systems in baseball where no prospect offer a future value greater than 45 aside from AJ and Waldrep, so if you can turn some of that "capital" into a stablished bat that can help you to win this year, I say go ahead and do it. Next year?? Next year no boddy will remember who lost the World Series , you live today, you fight today and tomorrow you fight tomorrow's problems, if he doesn't fit in your plans you can always trade a player, this game is played to win the WS and baseball opens a window for you for a very specific time . Anderson is comming back from TJ and hasn't pitch effectively in the majors for the longest time and everybody I mean everybody knows that first year after a TJ your control is erratic and inconsistent so I sure hope you are not counting on Ynoa and Anderson to win it all and certainly not with Elder either. This team needs a total make over and new energy people that can get on base, move a runner, work the pitch count, hit ball out of the yard with runners on, the things we are not doing now. When was the last time López piched 188 innings? Was it last year? Or the year before? Better yet the year before that? The has piched 216.1 innings in the past 4 seasons combined! Combined! 189 in the past 3 years! His body is not ready for it now, he will run out of gas by september I am 100% sure the braves wer aiming for 130 innings or so out of him not 180 and for sure not 188, they will take it , but it come with a price.
@@eros587 How is using wOBA (Weighted On-base Average) cherry picking? wOBA similar to wRC+ as it is a players overall offensive production, I would use wRC+, but wRC+ doesn't have an "expected" metric that goes along side like wOBA in the form of xwOBA. I could use both their xBA, xSLG, xOBP, xwOBACON, ect if you like? But the results would still be the same. Tell me what you want to see between the 2. I also know what you mean with someone like Arraez, and he's not very productive. Sure Arraez hits .310, but he hits for very little power with a .071 ISO, and he doesn't walk with a 4.0% walk rate, a .154 ISO and 8.2% walk rate are league average, thus he walks less than half as much as the average player, and he hits for less than half as much power as the average player, thus Arraez isn't as productive with a 110 wRC+, to Stanton who has a 124 wRC+. Aaron Judge is the hardest hitter with an exit velocity of 96.3 mph, and guess what, he's also the most productive 207 wRC+. 2nd is Oneil Cruz, 3rd is Shohei Ohtani, 4th is Juan Soto, and 5th is Rafael Devers in exit velocity, and Soto isn 2nd in wRC+ at 190, Ohtani is 3rd in wRC+ at 185, Devers is 16th in wRC+ at 149, and Cruz is way back mostly due to his poor contact rate, his 32.7% strikeout rate, and below average walk rate of 6.9%. But most of the time, if your contact rate isn't bad, hitting the ball hard equates to good production. Also I don't know where you get Nacho not being know for his batting skills? That's what he is known for, as his plate discipline and contact skills are excellent. Nacho's O-zone (out of zone) swing rate is just 24.7%, (mlb league average is 31.6%) thus he doesn't swing at balls out of the zone, but when he does his O-contact is 82.4% (league average is 62.8%), same goes for his Z-contact of 89.7% (league average is 85.8%). He also owns a career 14.4% walk rate in the minors, and like I said before 8.2% is major league average, along with Nacho being a career 130 wRC+ hitter. If Nacho starts to produce more power (which is the only complaint people have had) his offensive production is really going to shoot up, like it has start to show in Gwinnett for the first time with his .239 ISO, thus he's produced a 160 wRC+ down there.
🎉🎉 Great show. AA toughest season thus far. Wht medications Braves on? Have the players lost confidence in Hitting coach cuz Everybody except Ozuna, is abit Loopy I know we are still in this. Gotta get a SP at the deadline. Hopefully Fried gets back within a month....if not we're toast. I can easily see Nacho outperforming Ozzie. Need an OF and SP and we can still get this done if Fried returns.
Benitez hasn't fared well offensively hitting just .139 with a 11.0% walk rate, 32.5% strikeout rate, and only a .067 ISO between both CPX and A ball, which is far worse than what he was doing last year.

Hey Jake with tonight being the unveiling of the All Star Logo do you think that we may see players wear their team uniforms and who you think of the Braves will represent us next year?
Too many question marks around Fried.. plus you don’t know if Lopez & Sale hold up.. Tyler Anderson is who I hope they get. Him & Rengifo in a package deal
I don't know how many more reality checks this team needs that it's not their year... Play hard, but don't mortgage the future to limp into the playoffs to get embarrassed by the Phillies again. Braves weren't hitting before the injuries, and there were questions about leadership/lack of emotion and urgency beforehand also.
Put a fork in ‘em, the 2024 Braves are done. Just an absolute travesty of a season. Watching a far superior Cardinals team come into Atlanta and pummel the Braves in the last two games is pretty telling. Personally, at this point, I don’t think you make significant moves that jeopardize your farm system. There just isn’t much out there that is going to make a difference. I think you play out the season, bring in some guys off the farm, and you hope Riley and Olson catch fire. I think you play D’Arnaud as your primary catcher and perhaps admit that the Murphy trade was an error in judgment. His supposed defense abilities really have been reduced to the new rules.
@@MassBoost his names Erick I got the name wrong. Good starter for CWS who I’m sure they’re willing to sell. Would help the back end if the rotation out
@@1234pbomb I'm think someone like him would be a last minute acquisition, as I'm sure they want to give Fried as much time as possible before seeing if his deal it short term or longer term.
They more than have the prospects to get someone like Fedde, with 3 guys in the top 100, and in some lists there are 4 guys in the top 100 as Nacho is starting to appear on some lists.
Dodd is not the answer long term. The only reason to call him up and not winans is the days match up. I’m thinking Ian gets a start in a week or two, ajss around the same time. Provided both continue to progress and impress maybe they can come up and we roll with a 6 man rotation.
They never even said that Dodd would be starting, they suggested that he might be used as a reliever possibly. Smith-Shawver was around 70 pitches last game, so at most he might need 1 more game. We'll see about Anderson responds as he gets stretched out, but he's also at around 70 pitches. I doubt attempt a 6 man rotation till after they get clarification on Max Fried.
@@MassBoost max is out a month minimum. There is no further clarification. My guess is he is out at least until September with the entire season in jeopardy. It’s a month to 90 day injury so someone has to make at least 6 starts in that spot and maybe as many as 12. If Dodd isn’t used in relief I’d say he’s in line to make the first one, I just don’t want him making many. If we want to rest sale, Morton, Lopez, and schwelly, to give us any shot in the playoffs then we need 2 more starters to step up. IMO that list starts with Ian and ajss until we make a trade.
@@joemi1219 We don't know that at all in concerns to Max, is it might only be a couple weeks, as there's nothing to suggest that it would definitely be an extended stint. I'm not sure where you get his injury is some "90 day" injury? Not sure why there will be a need to rest Sale or Morton? Maybe Lopez I could potentially see, and Schwellenbach is probably a lesser concern as was an everyday player, being a shortstop and closer, so his ability to play on a more regular basis is greater than most pitchers, as he's conditioned better than most pitchers as a 2 way college player. But if they should ever want to give days off, Anderson, Smith-Shawver, and eventually even Ynoa can be added to the group of starters with that chance.
@@MassBoost of everyone who has ever had this injury some can come back in 30 days and it’s taken others over 90. I pay attention when people who know talk. And yes with his injury history you want to give sale extra rest, Charlie is over 40 and talked about how he likes the extra days off, Lopez is already over his innings high for the last 4 seasons, schwelly is getting close to or at his career high, so yes they all need extra time and benefit from it.
Trade Ozuna at peak value for prospects. You’ve got Acuna, Albies, Harris, Murphy, Olson and Strider all locked up long term. You can’t keep an entire roster. If Frieds got interest they should be listening to offers as well.
@@rickINcali1 been pitching all year in the Mexican league. So he is game shape ready. There would be no need to lose prospects and the ceiling would be you get the Bauer cy young version. Worst version can't be any worse than throwing Elder out there giving up 6 plus runs
Bauer will likely never happen. He showed once again why people won't take a chance of him with him in a stare down with the opposing manager, making gesture to the dugout, and then going on to tell the opposing batter what pitches he was throwing before each pitch, because they had him checked for sticky stuff and was all pissed off a couple weeks ago. He's not a team player, and Anthopoulos as stated he wants guys with quality personalities, and he said he didn't do a trade at the deadline last year because other players in the Braves clubhouse where against the player he was looking at.
I am seeing some Braves swinging at pitches that they can't reach with a boat paddle. Pitiful. Young Braves pitchers must stay out of middle of plate when they get 2 strikes. Someone tell them.
this sky is falling shit is getting old, stop betting ever game and it won’t feel like. hard to believe someone that has been a braves fan since the 90’s don’t realize that it’s a crap shoot in the playoffs

Greed! sometimes AA Don't make sense!!!!!! FF should have been the 900 million dollar MAN!!!!!!!WE should have kept Swanson!!!!!! I don't understand AA sometimes..
Swanson isn't worth his salary, he's on pace this year to be just a 2.2 WAR player, which is just above the average player, as Swanson is having his worst offensive season since 2017.
I would not do much at the deadline. The minors is already depleted, the team only goes as far as Ozuna, Riley, Harris, and Olson take us. Fried, Sail and Lopez have to be healthy. Murphy has been so disappointing, gave up so much to get him and just hasn't hit since the first half of last year. Again maybe you can get some cheap rentals you get hot at the right time. But with Fried likely leaving, Morton probably retiring. You don't want to trade any pitchers, and you don't have any good position guys.
Smart people understood that Murphy trade was a disaster from day one. People saying his defense makes up for what you lost with Contreras' bat were unhinged or dumb.
Ernest from Savannah Fried and albies out this season is history hopefully they wont trade minor league players for guys not better that what they have why not try minor league like Franklin and others what are your thoughts also why not play Murphy and bench TD and arcia Rosario
Jesse Franklin has been out all year with left shoulder tendinitis, that's why, as he has yet to even play this year. Also Murphy has played 2/3rd's of the games over the last month, and also since the start of July d'Arnaud has hit .387/.441/.613 with a 196 wRC+, so right now he's probably getting all the playing time he should.
Sell at the deadline. This season is done. Injuries galore and cannot overcome the worst manager in the MLB (Snit), who loves to punt games, yet he cannot prevent injuries. AA is magic but he isn’t God. Sell at the deadline. Thanks again, Atlanta Sports. -falcons: suck -hawks: suck -ATLUTD: suck -dream: suck -braves: sucking too
I think we play for the WC, but I think we hold firm and just hope we get hot. Maybe make some minor trades and replenish our depleted farm system. My glaring concern is Matt Olson and Murph. They both look AWFUL at the plate. Matt is great defensively but I don't think Murph has thrown anybody out this year. Teams are running rampant on us and these two are dead weight at the plate. Something has to give with this offense. It's hard to watch. The wave during the 8th in the crowd was more exciting than our offense.

Fried is probably in Anahiem or somewhere next year because AA doesn't want to pay more than he believes is necessary. He needs to pay someone bc we are blesses to have theses club friendly deals. Will Ozzie or Acuna get mad if we pay a proven winner lol right
Hate Ozzie got hurt but hope nacho do good when he call up carry the infield a little bit and we make some trades to help this offense
John Gil is impressive. This is my first time watching anything more than highlights. He is a real prospect. There is a little furcal to his game. He is one I’m keeping an eye on
The odds stay the same - sans Vegas / media
1/32 even better once playoffs start
imagine what locked on Texas said at the break last year
The one positive I can think of for Max pitching in the All-Star game is him only pitching one inning.
Absolutely no way can we give up until we're mathematically out.
Daily on Spotify. Love this show
I’m selling on this season. Get some top prospects for some of these guys and get ready for next year. I no this isn’t the Braves way. It’s just my opinion. N I get it. We won a World Series in 2021. But this season is cursed
That's never going to happen, as Anthopoulos has stated he's not in the market for trading off player that they sign to long term contracts.
agreed. Ozuna needs to get traded just on the chance Ronald needs to DH next year. I'd prob trade Sale as well
@@wujujuju Why would Acuna need to DH all of next year?
@@MassBoost didn't he have to DH in 2022 after returning from the same injury?
Thoughts on Whit Merrifield signing?
Merrifield has underhit his metrics so far this year, so hopefully he'll be a better hitter with the Braves. Perhaps they can make some adjustments to at least make him just an average hitter which is what Ozzie has been this year with 100 wRC+, and Merrifield should be a solid fielder defensively as well.
Yawn. Dude’s been a below average hitter since ‘21. He’s not going to add much to a lousy lineup.
Ozzie hasn’t been good this year, but max was definitely a bright spot. He needs to make a recovery
ozzie was dong better then most our other players...
I know AA wont do it but I'd bring up Nacho and AJSS and go out and get an innings eater and a single OF bat. I wouldnt go over that last luxury tax threshold here for the chance we have. This season is cursed. Hedge your bet.
Our ss good on defense but he needs to hit better
Gotta keep Ozuna
I’d rather trade Olson than Ozuna.
I hate the Ozzie injury, but its gonna be nice gettin a look at Nacho! Nacho time !!!!
Atlanta Stipers, let's go!
What if? Anderson is back to 2021 form? Elder 2023 pre AS form? What if ???? I saw where Soroka? got hurt....What if ???????
Braves need a good starting pitcher and and good contact hitter

Gotta get a SP at the deadline. Hopefully Fried gets back within a month....if not we're toast. I can easily see Nacho outperforming Ozzie. Need an OF and SP and we can still get this done if Fried returns.
I don't know why a article said Fried died so which is it
theme of the 2024 Braves: One step forward, 2 steps back 'sigh'
Is there anything on benientez he's an international guy we took a couple seasons ago??
Benitez hasn't fared well offensively hitting just .139 with a 11.0% walk rate, 32.5% strikeout rate, and only a .067 ISO between both CPX and A ball, which is far worse than what he was doing last year.

Hey Jake with tonight being the unveiling of the All Star Logo do you think that we may see players wear their team uniforms and who you think of the Braves will represent us next year?

Too many question marks around Fried.. plus you don’t know if Lopez & Sale hold up.. Tyler Anderson is who I hope they get. Him & Rengifo in a package deal
Amed Rosario from TB can play IF/ OF too
Matt Olson it like he a different person come on Matt break out of i5
I don't know how many more reality checks this team needs that it's not their year... Play hard, but don't mortgage the future to limp into the playoffs to get embarrassed by the Phillies again. Braves weren't hitting before the injuries, and there were questions about leadership/lack of emotion and urgency beforehand also.
Or you could be like the Rangers who limped into the play-offs, and made it to the World Series?
We should get DJ Feadde
Who's DJ Feadde? There's not such a player that I can find.
I don’t think the Braves have the prospect capital to get Eric Fedde. Eric Fedde is an number 2 or 3 pitcher.
They're not trading Fried, they're likely to offer him a contract while giving him a qualified offer, thus they gain a top draft pick should he leave.
The quality of this coaching staff has deeply regressed from last year to this year.
Leave Elder out, tired of seeing that experiment. Rather see any other arm in the system get a chance over Elder. PERIOD
Just sign Trevor Bauer and not give up any prospects.
I agreed, but is he ready?..where is he pitching?...just asking...
@@rickINcali1 been pitching all year in the Mexican league. So he is game shape ready. There would be no need to lose prospects and the ceiling would be you get the Bauer cy young version. Worst version can't be any worse than throwing Elder out there giving up 6 plus runs

@@templar319 We might not have another option bc no prospects to give for an elite pitcher....I agreed sign him!
What pitcher was in the middle of the plate?

Greed! sometimes AA Don't make sense!!!!!!
Ian Happ from the cubs as the bat
@@dancarpentieri7762 agreed I didn't like it from the beginning, now it just looks worse and worse.
This team ain't no good anyway lol

My glaring concern is Matt Olson and Murph. They both look AWFUL at the plate. Matt is great defensively but I don't think Murph has thrown anybody out this year. Teams are running rampant on us and these two are dead weight at the plate.
Something has to give with this offense. It's hard to watch. The wave during the 8th in the crowd was more exciting than our offense.
