From the Philippines 🇵🇭 here. I basically relearning my Mandarin Chinese & out of nowhere I saw your shcwa sound clip. I feel delightful by influencing them to talk in British accent as we are taught in school American English & they are trying to copy my british accent (though am not sure if the intonation is correct) but gladly! I'm an English as a second language learner , and I always love to learn more and more about British English . I'm always in love with British accent . I'm currently working on my British accent by watching English teachers' videos and practicing a lot ;)
You're right, intonation is super important to get a more natural speech. To speak as a native English speakers and a good intonation helps you to be understood better even though you get stucked in some expression. We have to keep working our pronunciation and intonation, they're fundamental.
Your British language is like a song! So beautiful, so perfect! I have been learning it for many many years and at last I've heard it, the best accent I've ever heard)
Sir I'm from India...... My teacher told me to watch videos regarding to intonation in order to learn but after watching you this video i don't think so i would need to learn it from others videos...... Cause of you have given very helpful information..... Thank you 😊✌️
I think this was one of the most useful videos I've ever seen! You are teaching some intonations rules and (more important) to have confidence, personality and be patient! Thanks a lot!! 😁
Intonation..is the most important thing for understanding people when they speak. When we are used to perseiving the melody of expressions in your language well...only then are we able to speak english well. This must be the reason why I do not understand americans when they talk fast...even though I have been watching their tv shows for decades. ..leave aside the fact that: american language sounds like a frog🤣😆 You're great... Good video. I was watching it for two reasons. I have a friend who needs help with intonation. Also I was watching it from the perspective of another TH-camr. You have a good delivery and clarity

This was so fun and motivational video, I really enjoyed it. You made me remember the way my British teacher used to speak to me, and I just realized that he was really just as you said, going up and down in his talk, I should have known it's a method of speaking! And good luck with the gym.
One of the things that I find is hard about English is the English natives show the politeness in speech with intonation. We Japanese have Keigo, the police way of speech and writing. So we don't necessarily have to give much intonation when we speak Japanese. I totally agree to your advice: the personality is important. No matter how well I copy the way Tony Blair speaks, I can never be him. I am who I am. In that sense, learning a different language can be a good way to view ourselves from different perspectives. Thank you for the great tips👍 I always enjoy your lessons:)
Teacher Elliot, thank u for sharing those amazing tips. I had not thought about having a personal intonation, I enjoy a lot imitating from the RP british speakers to Australian speakers, such a difficult thing but I love it! I'll take into account your tips in order to find out my own intonation. Cheers!
