How do you know how much twist should be in your single? Do you let the spindle spin until it reaches the end of the spin, and starts to backspin, and then that is when you know there's enough twist in your single and it's ready to be wound on The spindle? Thanks I never know for sure if there's enough twist in my yarn!
Jenny Lory I generally use this method for twist verification. I spin a make (the spindle is almost touching the floor) then I give my singles a gentle tug. If the single drifts, even a little bit, I add more twist. Once it no longer drifts, I wind on. HTH!
Barbara Thompson it really depends. The finer the singles, the more you can fit. I usually find it is a weight issue rather than anything else. My elbow usually only allows around a half an ounce for a cop. Your mileage may vary ☺
