      Technically hype shoes are exactly the same as general release shoes when it comes to the insides. When he chopped open the chunky dunky and the pandas, you could see there was barely any difference in terms of the leather used and just like the pandas, most of the materials used on the chunky dunky were trash.

    I'm with you there. I have a lot of Adidas shoes - Sneakers as well as "real" sport shoes - and I would LOOOVE to get real retro models built the same way like 40 years ago. The shoes of the 80ies had the best silhouettes ever. Clean, basic and functional. Max. 5 to 7 colorways (white/blue, blue/white, white/red, red/white, black/white, white/black and then maybe gold/black, or something like that). Nothing of this "chichi"-nonsense from nowadays.

    I agree: comparing old vs. new technology would be very interesting! I am sure that in many cases it will show that "new" is not better than "old" and "new" is just a gimmick to sell and advert more crap. That's why companies are not interested to do it. People who are now a main number of customers on the market are 40-50 year old. They grew up in the 70's and 80's that's why "nostalgia" and "retro" are in fashion. But in most cases product based on "nostalgia" are just slogans, empty words...

      @milktea2422 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’d say most technology is better, especially for adidas. I know cloudfoam, boost, their EVA, and bounce technology are newer, and I can say are pretty damn good. Maybe it’s not super different when comparing cloudfoam and EVA to the cushioning from 20-30 years ago. But it’s probably better. At least boost and bounce foam was. I mean even back then people were trying to cut corners, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the quality of retros were on par with shoes 20-30 years ago that were considered quality.

    • @Chevsilverado
      @Chevsilverado 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Foams and grip are definitely better. But old shoes can have some really sturdy construction that new ones don’t, price and style being equal.
      If you’re using the shoes for sport then you’d see an immediate difference in comfort and protection. For everyday wear not so much, but you notice the lighter weight and some comfort if your classic shoe wasn’t particularly comfort.

    Interesting, the pair that Weartesters reviewed (Forum 84 High “Orbit Grey”) seemed to be made closer to the original as Chris said the materials quality is really good with the thick leather cut and hairy suede, I was able to grab a pair of Orbit Grey lows and really happy with the materials how they feel on feet etc. but now you’ve made me second guessing Chris’s words and the leather they used on mine. 🤔
    I do hope mine has better leather and suede than these that you just cut cause I haven’t got a chance to see and feel the newer 84s in person.
    But as far as I’ve seen I believe that these are also getting the same treatment as the Continental models which the leather/materials are very inconsistent on different colorways/releases.
    Great and informative video nonetheless! I’ve been waiting for this video for a while now 🙏 Like you I also really want Adidas to make pairs that are as close to the original as possible like they’ve been advertising with this model.

    Ol skool OG shoe tech is kind of crappy its usually, hard, clunky, plasticky, heavy, hot and just plain uncomfortable. I held onto a few of my old old old ass shoes for a real long time and wore most of them way past the prime time anyone ever should, and the ones that didn’t crumble just ended up being way to uncomfortable to keep. I eventually through them all away. I wish I kept them for nothing else but to send to Rose Anvil for cut up videos!!!🤔Even though it saddens my heart sometimes when you cut all these bad boys in half I’m still anxious to see the next pair you cut in half every single time. Great job as always even if it breaks my heart. ✌🏽🍻

    Just for anyone just getting into forums, there are different versions with varying quality. If it has 84 in the name then the leather quality is going to be a step above the other versions, but the strap is non removable. Forum definitely a great shoe no matter what though

      @@xeicv The Forum sucks, should not have bought them. But education nowadays is at a cost. Top Tens are even worse. All Adidas are great at doing are the SL line of the 70s and 80s, both Samba originals (Samba Super being the only Samba you need (my pair is the Suede model)), the ZX1000 and 8000, and the Superstar is okay (provided you chop out the arch support in the shoe)).
