    What kind of cable is used inside the box? What does the other end of the cable look like? I assume it’s the same type of connector that you show at 10:29 and plugs into the wall where the electrician ran the 30amp circuit? Also what gauge wire did you use for the drox signal?

    Slick setup! Quick question on the wiring I couldn't quite make out from the video so please correct me where im wrong. For 220v both your black and white are hot (ie 110) green is ground. It appears you have just the white leg going through the transformer. Then you have a pigtail from both the hot legs (ie white=yellow pugtail and black = black pigtail) going into the voltage block on the meter, am I seeing that straight?

    I like the camera idea for monitoring. I have been using smart plugs with voltage monitoring, but it's hard to find good ones for 220-240v. I will have to make a few of these soon !!!

One thing I can not seem to wrap my head is that if 220V have 2 hot of 110V legs and only 1 is being monitored, how does it able to monitor entire current for the pdu? Good Morning, Space Goats! I'd be VERY interested in getting a premade meter. I have another TH-camr - and a fellow Misfit Miner - coming over to do a shoot. If I can swing the install before he comes, I'd like to install one of your meters. Red Panda Mining speaks so highly of them, as do the others that I've seen review them. If not, I can take a whack at making one. Thank you!

    This does not make sense. You will not get a reading for 220 wattage by only having the CT around one leg. All it will see is the current flow on a single leg. I believe your meter displays 220v because you are powering it from the 220, but the CT isn't reading the wattage across both of the hot legs. I don't believe you are getting the reading you expect.
    And you can't simply fix this by running the CT around the 2 hot legs either. You can only measure the current flow thru one of the wires. I found your video looking for a way to get a similar output but your way isn't quite right. If I am wrong please explain it to me. Thanks.

    • @darkness8631
      @darkness8631 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You will get current from measuring one wire (one hot "leg") like you said yourself.
      If you measure both, you would just get the leakage current against earth.
      You will get Voltage from measuring between both hots (or hot and neutral on 120V) > Thats what the Screwed Panel on the Power Meter is for.
      Wattage then is simple maths.
      Current (A) x Voltage (V) x Powerfactor (cos phi] = Wattage (W)
      Current (A) x Voltage (V) = Apparent Power (VA) in AC
