@@jbsoftwash I've been through 2 spur gears and 1 60A ESC so far, I love it, does about 47mph on 3s which is more than fast enough for the BMX track, got a new 120A ESC to put in and see if that helps any because the old one caught fire randomly on me, it's happened to a few others as well, beware of cheap banggood ESC's, if you're going to use them my advice is install it in such a way that you can disconnect the wires and rip it off your car quickly when it inevitably combusts.
On stock gearing you are at 85kph with a 2600kv motor on 3S. Perfect for this rc. Fast enough with a ton of torque. I did a brushless conversion with stock gears. 3100kv, 3S, 100kph on the dot. Then went 4200kv, 3S 115kph. 15kph/1100kv (on 3S battery).
Following QuadrifyRC and Driftomaniacs guides/videos, I settled on a 3650 3100kv Surpass and a 17T pinion, can't wait for it to show up and upgrade the old '19.
Thanks for your upload, does it have to be a 550 Size? And the servo is a mini not micro ? You did a great job on it and I agree too much kv isn't a great idea but you nailed it 👍
What is the white stuff under the motor. Dirt really likes to stick to it. Is it some sort of thermal paste ? I'm guessing its to transfer heat to the skid plate. Do other cars have this ? Is it really needed ?
Damn... just did a brushless conversion but having some bad cogging issue.. no one seems to have the issue besides me 😭 80a ESC and 3900kv motor and stock everything else. No binding or anything either. I guess you get what you pay for..
I used a JX PDI-1171MG from Banggood, looks identical to the stock servo yet is a few mm wider so you have to sand down the sides of the little servo mount to make it fit
I just took the motor out of mine. Apparently someone tried to remove the pinion gear and busted the screw so they possibly sent it back and didn't say it was broken. And I was sold a car with a busted motor. Honestly, I really think someone already had a car with a busted screw in the pinion and they bought a 2nd car. Then they swapped their old motor into a new car, took the new motor, and returned the new car with their old motor in it, with the busted screw. The rest of the car looked fine. It doesn't really matter. I bought a new brushed 12T Traxxas Titan 550 and a new pinion and motor mount before I ever knew it was busted. I never planned on taking it off but it's still messed up that I got a busted motor. It did feel a little slow. I'm just waiting on the motor mount to get here tomorrow and I can get it all back together and see how it runs. Another guy in here swapped the same motor into his 144001 buggy and was hitting 45 mph. With my luck, I won't get 45 mph or even close lol
Taking mine apart as I'm writing this, the two screws securing the engine mount to the chassis were easy enough, I propped the car up on the side and left the soldering iron leaning right in the slots to heat the glue up, but the two screws securing the motor to the mount won't budge even after sitting the soldering iron on each one for 10 minutes, trying to take the pinion grub screw off is even worse, it was coated in glue and I had to melt and chip away with a thin piece of wire to start making out the hex hole for it but it's still not grabbing. Wish I had another 27t pinion as I have a spare mount and screws for the motor. I have other smaller pinions but I'm keeping it stock gearing for the time being for ease of putting it back together.
Nahhh bro most people buy them when they do a brushless swap the original motor and the pinion on it the hex screw is always rounded of don't know how it's not for u but ok
Best Spoiler ever👍🏻💪💪, i was lazy and ordered 2 new parts for the motor... (mount & piniongear), regards from Germany
Nice. Can't wait for mine to show up, will use this vid as a guide.
How it turn out

what servo did u use
I’m curious too because the servo connector doesn’t match the esc

@@DarkAngel-dc3te yep. Both motors are 3660. Good old surpass.
Did you have a problem with cogging with the 4200 kv motor?
@@revee1000 nope. 80amp surpass esc. No issue.

I was tried the 3650 4350kv speed was insane but i should kick ass when start the move maybe 3900kv the best choise or 3700
5:11 tell me please what that gear name the yellow thing
What servo did you use and did you need to make any mods to fit it ?

short answere No.
Not the same connections.

Hej vart har du köpt motorn och ESC ifrån?
Hi do you the the surpass 80A esc can handle a 3660 3500kv motor on 3s?
Thanks for your upload, does it have to be a 550 Size? And the servo is a mini not micro ? You did a great job on it and I agree too much kv isn't a great idea but you nailed it 👍
The Low KV together with 3s worked fine , would not run it on a 2s.
Not sure if its micro och mini servo , best just to google Servo+Wltoys 144001 :)
Did you use the Stock pinion?
Did you need to buy the programming card also?
Yes but for some rc esc you can buy a combo
What is the white stuff under the motor.
Dirt really likes to stick to it.
Is it some sort of thermal paste ? I'm guessing its to transfer heat to the skid plate. Do other cars have this ? Is it really needed ?
looks like thermal paste yes !
Yes, but you can change it for a thermal paste people put on PC processors
HI could you please tell me in words what servo you used
Great video pal!!! 👍
Hello,what brand new servo name
If it flips on the top of the car that fan is gone
great videos, keep it up!
Hi bro...how to avoid cogging.?..mine after upgrade same motor become cogging...how to fix it?
The pinion gear is probably too big. The brushed moters have good starting torque, the sensorless brushless systems normally dont.
u use same control remote(stock) ?
No , you need to replace the servo and Rx/Tx
@@funzone4049 which servo did you use? And transmitter ?
@@funzone4049 can you say what servo?
my problem is no pinion gear fits on my motor because i don’t need a hole like a circle in the pinion gear. I need something like a half circle
The hole on pinion gear should be cirkular.
A grubscrew is used to fasten it to the shaft's flat side.
@@funzone4049 ahhh ok thanks! :)
What about the servo?
Well Done
Thanks for the update

on 2s its slower that original , on 3s faster but not by much i would say.
