      In a video with Daniel, while trying Donic equipment... Something like that if I remember well 🤔. Like backspin from forehand.

    Best part is I think the beast knew it was underspin intuitively and tried to push short but he completely underestimated how heavy the spin was

    • @volkerlanz6499
      @volkerlanz6499 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Now we get to the part I don't understand, and I sincerely hope someone can explain it to me. We can clearly see how Otto hit the ball. To me it looks like heavy side spin with no top spin but how can he possibly generate back spin with the racket only moving upwards?
      Isn't it just that the side spin is converted into downwards movement due to the bat angle it is received with? I often see shots ending up in the net when balls came with dominant side spin and little top spin which might just be them expecting more top spin, however, trying to push like here is a different story.

    • @moataz1140
      @moataz1140 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That is because the contact point of the ball is side-bottom. Try hitting your ball from the bottom with a slightly upwards flat racket moving upwards, observe the spin generated and then you will get your answer :)

    • @jiboo6850
      @jiboo6850 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      it's a topspin with sidespin shot guys! lol look at the kick on the beast side, it's the kick of a topspin ball lol. + it reacts exactly like a topspin ball on an open bat angle to return short. you guys can't read for peanuts.

      @@volkerlanz6499 it is a topsin ball hit under the equator below the table. but it'(s well a topspin ball with some sidespin in it. just loook at the kick on the beast side table. it's not the kick of backspin ball lol.

      topspin and sidespin. Otto is hitting it under the equator but it's a topsin ball with some sidespin. the kick + the response on the besst's bat is clear. topspin with some sidespin.

      @@slothy33711 look closely the stroke on the ball at 0.25x speed. it cannot be backspin. end of story. topsin with a good amount of topspin. btw, he's a lefty and receiving it with the forehand so far on his forhand side was impossible anyway. unless his wrist turns into marshmallow noodle. which can't be possible so...
      look at the ball curve for FFS !! do you really think you can achieve such short deep curve with a backspin stroke ??? look at the stroke itself ! he goes up with a sidespin scooping which translates into topsin + sidespin. the end.

    • @slothy33711
      @slothy33711 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

       @jiboo6850 He comes round the side and "underneath" the ball to impart backspin. The beast knew it would be back spin as he actually pushed at the ball, if he had thought it was top spin he would no have the face of his bat so open. If it was top spin the ball would have come off the beasts bat at that angle and hit the roof.

      I had to watch it alot. Looks like he's hitting the bottom of the ball and adding side as well. It looks like a topspin stroke but he's scooping under the ball instead of spinning over the ball. Would fool me for sure

      I played a kid who could do this really well, the key is to hook under the ball and pull forward while curling the racket back. It has heavy side and under and is very uncomfortable to block or push.

    • @volkerlanz6499
      @volkerlanz6499 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@321DoggiesReally??? It looks like side spin only, definitely no top spin involved. Your explanation seems adequate for how the ball behaved afterwards, however, how is Otto "scooping under the ball" with his racket being in vertical position? Wouldn't the top of the racket need to face underneath the table to do so just like outwards to generate top spin?

    tip for him if he faces another shot like this, just step around the corner and hit it with a backhand flick early off the bounce. the shot was high so is the bounce too. use it at your advantage and backhand flick it early in diagonal to still have room to land your shot.

  • @Timo-vo5mw

    Okay I know to play a little bit and that spin with that stroke could only be generated with an antispin rubber. What the actual frack is going on there?

    • @alankingchiu

      Otto brushed the underside of the ball, creating back spin.
