I think placing the calendar near the mud room will be best since you mentioned it is for the whole family and I think it should be visible where the girls and you and your hubby will at least look at once or twice a day. Sometimes when things are put up like let’s say the laundry room; you and your husband may remember to look at it but not your little ones. So I think by the mud room door would be perfect! ❤
I personally would do that in our mud room but my son has Autism and we have to keep our mud room/laundry room locked at all times so we are more likely not going to look there.
However for your family, I think it will work well! And now you got me wanting a cheeseburger, thanks for the Costco pattie recommendation! 😊 Have a blessed day Jamie!

I think the calendar by the garage door for you as your leaving. You can check it everytime you go to leave and ensure you have everything and not forgotten appointments etc. Mums need to remember extra bits that husbands dont.
I hang mine by our door going to the carport for that reason, it's also where I keep my monthly supply list.

Yes this!! I would be such a mess. These uploads remind me I have stuff to get done and when I don’t want to do stuff I always come here for motivation. The motivation compilations that are a few hours long are a must have for my deep cleaning days. My house would probably be a mess without this channel!
Suggestion. Wait to put anything major on your walls until you have your window coverings installed. Also, I agree with the calendar option of somewhere in the mud room. I actually liked it by the back door too. It’s super subtle, so it totally works.

I think you should put your family calendar by the garage door. This would allow you to see it when you leave the house. If you’re like me, I forget and it would serve as a great reminder!! 😊
Weekend resets are the best! I always feel so much better when I get myself/household ready for the upcoming week.
I think the calendar makes the most sense in the spot you held it by the back patio door. Our calendar helps me determine meal plans, packing lunches, etc. so having it close to the kitchen where all of that is happening is a must The kitchen is where the planning is happening in our home. And I think a large clock would look great by the kitchen table.

I like the calendar in the first place you put it, by the door/kitchen cabinets. It's easy to access and gives off a positive vibe in that open-space area. Agree, maybe a clock in the kitchen by your table (like a large, white-distressed, silent ticking).

I like the family calendar beside the door near the kitchen that way it is visible by everyone in the family but not the main focus. I agree the area by the windows should me more of a decorative piece.

Jamie, I think by the garage door on either side of the wall might be a good idea. That’s where I would recommend putting the family calendar. It’s fine if u realize u don’t like it there but I would at least hang it up next to the garage and try it out for a few weeks and see if u like it there or not.

I think the calendar would be good beside the garage door. I live in West Virginia so we are state "neighbors," and if you put near the outside door the way the wind blows when opening and closing the door might make it fly off the wall. That is why we usually don't hang things next to our outside doorways. Thank you for always asking for suggestions and making us all feel like friends and family.

I would put the calendar in the First location. Everywhere else seems too busy and imbalanced. I like putting those things where it works best for the family.
I was struggling with my diabetes and the move. Now that we are fairly settled, I got myself on WW (Weight Watchers). Been such a good choice for me. And because of you, I know I will always have to watch it with my PCOS. I am hoping I can have better energy soon! This week I have had to chill because my body was so tired. I kept comforting myself with the thought that my body is adjusting and it will be okay.

Another option to try for your calendar location is on the wall behind the door in the mud room, to the right of your laundry room..?! My first choice would be to put it by the door near the kitchen too though. I also think your bedroom chair would look great by the window with a little side table. Your bedding is beautiful. I think I would put the calendar on the wall by the kitchen. Only because we would be in that area of the house the most and it would be easy to look over and see what we have going on rather than walking to another room to check it. I have a magnetic dry erase board on our fridge and my household loves it because it is easy to check since we are always getting into it. I know that it probably doesn't look as nice, but sometimes you have to go with what is practical.

Pediatric dietitian weighing in here - love how you are approaching selective eating with your kids! The shot of you and her trying the goods together was so sweet, one part I always stress with families is how helpful it is to sit and eat the same meal all together at the same time!

YAY! I was so excited to see your bedding, and you did not disappoint! It's beautiful! I'm so happy for you. I know you've been wanting that for a while. I think your calendar will look great in any of the places you showed, but I'd pick the spot that is most convenient for you and your family. Not just the place it looks the best, but the spot it is easiest to reach and fill in as well. I'm no help because I struggle with those decisions too lol. We have our command station/calendar by our front door just because that's where it made the most sense for us and the layout of our home. Snowdrop is probably my favorite scent in the Mrs. Meyer's cleaners. I'd use it year-round if I could :). Our girls were never picky eaters until they started going to school. Then suddenly they disliked any food their friends did which was a lot. They are just now getting to the point where they like what they like and dinner is getting easier. It was a serious struggle for a hot minute! I hope you have a great week!

During the middle of the pandemic, I tried to do "adventuresome things and field trips" to cut the boredom. One thing I did was to order these meals too. I love to cook but wanted some new ideas. I found it fun to follow the directions but already have all my ingredients close by. I had decided, beforehand, to try it until I had 12 or so things /recipes I liked and then I ended my subscription. So using those new recipes and my standard ones I had new things to eat and I could change them up. I learned a couple of new techniques and used a few new spices I had not used in the past.
I think this is a good idea to try out. Your home looks great. Hoping you both can enjoy all the new "feels" of your new home! I Iike the calendar by the garage entryway.
The mud room/entry by the door makes sense to me for the family calendar. Where the coats and school bags crash makes sense for the last minute glance to me.
I like the calendar near the garage door alcove. That way you’ll see it walking in the back door, coming out of the laundry room and coming in from the garage.
I think it needs to be by the mudroom personally! That’s where I would have mine and to me makes the most sense! It’s super cute so it’s not like an “In your face” calendar it’s aesthetically pleasing!! That way when you leave or come in you’re reminded of the schedule!

I really like that calender! I’d put it in either of the hallway spots - so all familymembers can see it.
I’ve got a picky eater too - he’s autistic - and we usually makes him something we know he will eat but we eat other stuff and it works as a kind of introduction to foods if that makes sense. He watches us and once in a blue moon he likes to try it out.

I love what you did for your bedding. Simple yet beautiful. As you fold clothes you can look at it and update it etc. I love your new home and your channel. I can still see your old home in my head. I can see where you kept the high chairs and such. I’d like to see your calendar at the mail drop area. Near the back door it my get erased by too many clothes brushing past.

I know you said you weren't exactly a huge fan of having it there, but the purpose of the calendar is to be able to quickly refer to it for upcoming events. You also want to be able to add things as the month goes along. The mail drop area is in view from the kitchen and is much quicker to access during the day than walking down the hall. You'll also have the ability to glance at the calendar as opposed to walking down the hall to see if something is scheduled.
Hi Jamie 👋🏽 I love the idea of putting it near the door by the kitchen. I love calendars around the house. I have one in the kitchen, one in my beauty room, I put one in my husbands man cave and I also own a planner. I’ve always been super organized but I’m a new mom and my baby boy is currently 2mnths. I most times forget what I need to look forward to for the month with his appointments.. my husband is in the military so I have to keep up with his dates, and my personal doctors appointments etc.and my planner is super convenient because I can take it with me when I leave the house. Sounds like a lot lol I know but I absolutely love staying on top of things and it helps ❤ I love erasing the calendar to start a new month 😂 Love the new house by the way it looks amazing. I think the back door for calendar is my fav spot. I think it makes most sense in my opinion of course. Lol

I would say any one of those smaller areas that you showed us would work any one of those smaller areas even in your laundry room but I do think that a clock would look really good in your kitchen on that one wall and oversized
Your bedding is really pretty. I think light wood nightstands would go well and fit your neutral color scheme.

As a designer, either locker area or the back of the garage door. If you put it on the left side of the garage door as you come and go, you could rub against it possibly. So, the right side of the garage door. Or the locker drop zone.

Exposing the kids to new foods is a great idea for the kids (and you too 😉)! I have 2 boys with special needs and one was really picky until he was about 5 1/2. That’s when I started meal planning. I use themes to help me plan by the month. Then it occurred to me one day to start having my boys be a ‘theme’. LO picked stuff he liked of course but then he also enjoyed trying big brother’s selections too! So those 2 nights a week plus ‘Taco Tuesday’ was well established already (because LO loves quesadillas and that was one night I didn’t have to worry about it). My biggest advice is try not to stress it! It will come! LO is to the point eats new foods regularly (he’s 8 now)!

I like the calendar best on one of the walls next to the garage door. And they do make ultra fine tip erase markers.

on the calender placement:
by the garage seems a bit dark, that could just be the camera, otherwise seems like a good little nook that everyone can see it.
by the laundry would be good for you, but not sure for others, I find mine works best when we can all see it
by the door you leave/enter would be good for being seen, and thats how I have mine, but you make a good point on it being a bit "cluddered" for me thats not too much but I know we all got difrent limits on that so you gotta be the one to make that call.
by the table in the kitchen seems super good to me, in particular if you make a larger one and lean into it being a large work of art for that wall, but that would mean planning out that as a project so it might not be a "right now" solution.
