    Both are neat devices, but I prefer the Aera scents quite a bit more. Most of the Pura scents I've tried just smell sweet and thick (Nest Grapefruit), like a regular plugin. I wanted a light (but detectable), fresh, clean smell throughout my 1st floor, like walking into a nice hotel.

      The scents really make all the difference. That's the tough thing about these reviews, some may like one scent and another might not! :)

    As someone who owns 4 Areas, two full size and two minis please know that the sound he is drawing attention to is way louder and more noticeable than you can tell on the video. I would never buy one of these things again. If you place it in a room your guests are going to be very aware and ask you what the sound is.
    However the scents are fantastic and not all of them are floural. There are musk scents in their lineup now. Palo Santo and Sandalwood are great. Also if you don't know what bergamot smells like you are not really into fragrance I'm guessing.

    I recently purchased the Pura and HATE IT. I have a 797 sq ft open floorplan condo and there is barely any scent. I've tried several and it's just no good. I am currently sitting about 6 feet from it and - zero scent. On a rare occasion, I MIGHT notice the scent but, that's only because I am hoping and praying it will someday do it's ONE JOB. If you came over as a guest, you wouldn't notice anything at all. I currently have the Asian Woods and Charcoal scent running - two very strong scents - nothing.

    Trying to understand the pura better. What’s the deal with 2 scents at a time? Does this mean you have the ability to mix and match scents?. To me that introduces a level of difficulty I don’t want to try and figure out. I suppose I could just get the same scent but why the double scent feature? How does one even tell what mixes well together?

    • @WeTriedIt
      @WeTriedIt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Honestly, it really helps to have two different scents so you can smell them better. If you only have 1 scent - you get used to it. But we have ours programmed to change every couple of hours. We like to have Capri Blue Volcano and something seasonal like Frasier Fir or Pumpkin Chia. Just two that are different.

    Thank you for this review. I do love my Aera and Indigo is my most favorite scent. But you are right, the scents are very unique and reminded me of perfumes and colonges. But, I just received my Pura with a Volcano scent and am very excited about it. I just don't like that it heats of scents, where the Aera is more of a nebulizer. Heating up a scent can create other chemicals in the environment that may not be desirable. But so far, I believe the scents are safe like Aera. Just not sure. Thanks for the Review!!!

      @WeTriedIt  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I went all out and purchased 6 puras. The only two rooms that we can ever smell anything is the bathroom and my office. Doesn't matter what scents I use. Gave pura a year to see if I could eventually get one of the bazillion scents I've ordered to actually throw scent in the living room/kitchen. I'm selling my puras and gonna try the aera.

    Thanks! I’m interested in the Pura, but couldn’t find answers to some of my questions, but you answered them. My 2 scents? For $200.00, you can buy 4 Pura + some scents (or 3 + more of the scents) I wouldn’t buy the Aera because I don’t want to be stuck with their version of scents. Again, thanks! Your video helped me decide before purchasing.

    I just wasted hundreds on three Aera units and fragrances. I literally have to be within 3-6 feet from the units in order to smell any fragrance. Also, they stop smelling like anything within a couple of weeks. Wow, I can't believe I just spent almost $700 just to throw them in the trash.

    I have had an Aera for a couple of years. It's needed to be replaced a couple of times. One thing I can say about their customer service; they are TOP NOTCH. Unfortunately we continue to have issues with the diffuser reading the scent and percentage. I have had diffusers that wouldn't take scents at all. It's a mechanical contraption so it can reject the item. They also just upped their single fragrances to $60 per capsule. A capsule lasts us about 3 weeks so unfortunately I am seriously considering a switch.

    I have a Pura and it works wonderfully, if I find a scent is too light then I just changed the setting to high. I purchased it for their large collection of fragrances from high end brands. It’s much much less expensive than buying the actual candles. The only disappointment for me is that some popular fragrances sellout seasonally. I love their Anthropology HoneyCrisp Oakwood, but it’s October and it’s not available at this time. Next year I’ll be sure to purchase the fragrance in advance of the Autumn season.

    Compare Pura to electric wax melt warners. Cheaper and better scent throw. My three Pura devices barely hint the air with scent for $80/mo in refills. Wax melts "your house smells so good!" For $10/month.

      I think part of the reason it doesn’t seem to last as long is because your nose gets used to the scents. That’s why I like Pura with the alternating scents.

      Great question! I’d say that 800 square feet is about perfect. The best thing to do is light a match, blow it out and see where the smoke goes. The smoke should go where you want the scent. Airflow is more important than square feet. Does that help?

Not to mention I really didn’t understand what you meant by you live in Colorado which is a dry climate. What we’re you trying to imply by saying that? That it doesn’t last as long in dry climates?
