Neil, I'll bet you already know those 1940s-ish heavy weights would not really be pulled by a 1901-ish era loco this small/lite unless it maybe was only 1 car on a branch line, say.. 3 is allot of weight for her, especially if full ridership and up a 3% grade, say...Yet it's JUZzzz a hobby where the old phrase "It's ALL good !" always strongly pertains forever..(And I was not one to ever EVER use that phrase when it WAS 'in' !.. ).
Where'd you manage to find with sound? I looked all over before getting my DCC ready model a while back, never could find a Sound Value version. Fun models though, real smooth and controllable
Luke, I Cheated, I Bought the Santa Fe and T&P when they were on sale. I Removed the 2 screws from both tenders, Unhooked the connector from the loco, swapped the Tender frame from both locos, plugged back in the wires under the locos, then put the appropriate tender top on the correct loco's tender frame. Within 10 minutes I had the swap done. Probably will sell the Santa Fe on Ebay. You are right they are really sweet running locos! Small engines look good on a small layout. Neil
Noah, Those are Athearn Cars that were decaled by Texas Specialty Trains. I still have another set unbuilt in their boxes. They are actually the Athearn Blue Box shake and bake but I think they look ok on tight curves. Neil
