      The mushrooms you said you got from a garland look like vintage spun cotton which is made much like paper mache where a shape is made with cotton the layered with pva glue/white glue. The spun cotton mushrooms look so realistic...you should try it ...there are tons of tutorials for making spun cotton figures here is one th-cam.com/video/49icd0WgnJM/w-d-xo.html

      The cotton spun mushrooms you have to look like the vintage cotton spun figurines from are typically made in Germany since the Victorian era which were made a Millenery/Hat Decoration...it feels like foam but it is cotton and either glue or a starch paste similar to what they used for paper mache.Doll heads were made using spun cotton technique

    Hi. I'm a 74 yr old widow who lives on an 1100 acre ranch in Southwest Texas 35 miles from Mexico border. I love finding prizes to take home to craft with. Last summer I had a bunch of mushrooms growing with my canvas in a galvanized water trough. There were so cute and my grandkids loved checking on them every day. Thanks for more ideas.💖

    I’m new to Texas from California...(don’t hate me;)). I LOVE all things nature, small secret places where I used to hide as a child. I was blessed beyond measure to have grown up in urban Los Angeles in a home on over an acre of pure magic. We were on a gently sloping hillside with fruit trees, a perfect walnut tree for climbing, and a tree cave at the top of the property. The tiny house had been built in the 40’s. I lived and breathed magical moments of “cottage core”in that yard. At 67 I
    still revisit in my mind. I didn’t even know that cottage core was a thing until I found your wonderful videos. Please keep sharing more. ❤️

    We have that same bright green moss under our trees and in certain spots outside, and i love it so much. I live in South Carolina, and feel blessed to live where there's a lot of forest and nature. I've always loved being in the woods, and felt so peaceful there. Maybe that's why I love woodland decor so much.

    Oh my- I’m so glad I stopped to watch this entire video of yours! All of your DIY videos are full of originality and wonder…this one especially! I have been in a craft funk for quite a while ( starting with the Pandemic in early 2020- and becoming a Covid long hauler w other health “boo boo’s”). My creative brain went dormant for a while and watching your videos( along with the many creative DIYers out there!)- has kick started my desire to create something! My daughter has moved into her own apartment and is a fan of mushroom decor ( for various reasons!…😉) and I now have some ideas for making her some special decor for her home…Thank you & God Bless!

So talented and great eye for creating! Thanks for sharing.

    I've seen several crafters make things with those faux light bulbs and I haven't really been inspired much by any of them. Most people make them into bird houses. Yours, however, is fantastic and such a clever idea. I'll have to try that for this fall if I can find the piece. Also loved your lighted found wood sculpture with the mushrooms. Absolutely stunning! I love to wander through the forests and fields around me and find crafting treasures. Love the woodland stuff that is coming into style. TFS!

    Omg. I love it!!. Not sure about the eucalyptus, but I'm pretending it's mistletoe. It is absolutely amazing 👏. I was building a very large fairy house, but I put it away. I just pulled it out. It's all dusty and dirty, so I put it out in the rain, so the rain would wash it, unfortunately the whole chimney crumbled and I'm not sure what else fell off. But I got E6000 and the grandkids and I are going to fix it and it will be even better. Maybe I will share a picture.

    • @MakingItMyOwn

      I got them all while thrifting on different trips to the bins. The yellow are plastic and they were in an old arrangement with dried florals. The ceramic was by itself-you can find something similar at Dollar Tree. The red ones were on a garland which I pulled them from. Hope this helps.

    • @MakingItMyOwn
      @MakingItMyOwn  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m so glad you like it. I don’t sell the things I make for several reasons. With this piece in particular, it is fragile and would be impossible to ensure it would arrive in one piece. I appreciate your interest though. It’s a great compliment!

    Adorable ideas. I know it's just my own opinion, but plastic flowers just don't cut it for me. I can't do it; probably because my mom always thought they were so tacky, and that thought was ingrained into me. However, I honestly just hate the way they look, which is exactly as they are: plastic. The rest of what you have is super cute!

    • @MakingItMyOwn
      @MakingItMyOwn  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I get it, it isn't for everyone. For those who like to craft but don't have money for live flowers or greenery, this is an option I like to offer. The channel is supportive of the community as a whole. I do appreciate your opinion and support.

    • @deborahworth5291
      @deborahworth5291 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is true. Not everyone has a garden or an area to get real flowers or plants. I am not in any way going in the woods to look for greenery or mushrooms . There are 5 types of poison snakes here. Thank you but no thank you. Silk flowers do look real and aren’t plastic. More money but if you can afford them nicer. If not you do with what you can get Blessings

      Hi Holly. I’m my own research, there are many different looks with cottagecore. Some leans more towards English garden, some towards little house, etc etc.
