A tire truer works better you won't blow your electronics that way you need to be careful the way you're doing it you can blow your motor your speed control. you can even use a starter box I took my old ofna starter box the blue box and made it that I can hold my rims so I'm able to cut tires and rims

Wouldn't a drill work better? It would allow you to push a little harder and cut faster.
That would work great with wd40 to cool the tire
