I have a problem with this game on my y540 when moving the camera it does not look smooth although its runs with 80fps Did you change something in setting or it works normally ?
Dude i just bought this exact laptop can you please tell all the trics softwares and things that i should do to enhance the performance to the max Since you had this lapyop for a long time u r more experienced than me and you probably tried many things w knows which tricks works best
Moez Mosbahi hi:) congratulations and best of luck with your new laptop:) Well the main concern on the laptop is the heating when playing so you will need to use the Intel XTU soft or Throttlestop soft( whats better for you i use only XTU) and to do undervolt or reduce the turbo boost power to reduce temps(with undervolt im on -165v and if i do turbo boost method so its 45W&32.5w). for full fans speed you will need to be on Lenovo Vantage Soft on Thermal Mode at Performance Mode(there is quiet & balance & performance), you can also update drivers on the Lenovo Vantage Soft. Go to Nvidia site and download the Nvidia Experience and update all your Nvidia drivers. (i use also driver booster for update drivers) If you have specific question i will happy to answer:)
@@salfred5928 Hmm... maybe they may not solve the problem with the fans too soon. But can you be honest please? How does it look on the outside regarding the temperatures? It's hot? Can you hold your hand without a problem or do you feel that takes your hand fire? How hot is the case and in what areas exactly?
Necula Cristian im trying to be nothing but honest:) well i can hold it without a problem it doesnt take your hands fire.... i just few days ago took it into my personal backpack after he worked about 6+ hours on full power(converted movie, was on 90 degrees all time) and thinking myself its not so hot as i thought it would be:) the exact place is the middle of laptop on both sides(middle of keyboard and middle of back side) :)
Necula Cristian well if I compare it with my 7 years old gaming laptop in the same price range the difference is like between summer and autumm, it’s definitely not hot in places you normally put your hands to, only really hot place is right by the screen, but that should not matter to you.
Wow did you undervolt the CPU ? The only thing holding me back from buying this laptop is the bad thermals. I'm not a gamer, I'm gonna use this laptop for Photoshop and Illustrator editing. Will the laptop get hot with those programs ?
Haikal Charfeddine hi:) i did not undervolt i reduced the turboo boost power for lower temps (you can see it on min 0:55), im using this laptop also for gaming and also for video editing and when gaming i reduce the power but when editing im at full power and its getting to 90 degrees but outside its not so hot:) ( i have left the laptop for hours 6+ at full power and it was 90 degrees all time but all was ok hot from outside but not that much i think its fine:) you can always lower the temps when you using editing soft but i lower the power only when playing not when editing and its all fine!!)
@@dharmang do you own the i7 or the i5 version ? Btw Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustration are very CPU intensive apps unlike using chrome or MS Office
@@HaikalCharfeddine92 nah i use visual studio, chrome, discord, + some other softwares. and it works fine. no heating issues and noise from the fans. i own the i5 9th gen
I just received mine today and I noticed that there is a crackling sound when using the headphone jack😑 I seems that it is a common issue. Anyone knows how to fix it ?
@@salfred5928 it's a crackling sound / ticking noise only when using the headphones :/ it also seems like a driver issue / bios problem and it's also common forums.lenovo.com/t5/Gaming-Laptops/Lenovo-Y540-crackling-sound/td-p/4448320

@@salfred5928 why all gaming laptops having this issue? can I ignore undervolt and getting a good experience?
Aseel hi:) yeah you can ignore and play as it is its just for who wants to get lower temps during the game
@@salfred5928 does it goes above 90C ? what is avg and max temp ?
also, do u suggest this over the nitro 5 with the same space?
thank u
New bios update? Because I see fewer temperature spikes.
Necula Cristian hi:) no i have the same bios version BHCN28WW, the low temps its because the turbo boost power set at 45W & 32.5W :)
