I've played several hours with mine now. I love it! Rpm blast 130 at 54lbs is maybe a little loose for me. Lots of power with spin, very nice pop on the serve, and stable on returns and volleys. Definitely a keeper. Although I'm coming from the 2021 Prestige Tour with 56lbs of 4g!
I agree 100% with this review. I bought one for myself I liked it a lot. Might be my main racquet. The heavier weight exudes confidence. Its kinda addicting a bit.
I got two and I’m using it as main. The more I play with it I just forget about the weight. It’s just a great racquet if you move well and can handle it. I’m using RPM blast 1.30 55 pounds. How about you ?
Sometimes what you think is not actually what it is. I thought it was really difficult to handle such a high sw until I played with the racquet, especially with 1.5 or 2 overgrips to make it a little more HL. Such a great racquet on volley, FH and BH like a laser, large sweetspot, more maneuverable than the ligher version (which makes balls float easily). I found it only difficult on the serve but I haven't practiced serving a lot, everything else is perfect! I'm short, only 1m70, 60kg and still found it like a control racquet with more power. One of the racquets I am considering to switch to.
I love heavy frames, but this was a different beast. I found that I was having trouble hitting up on the ball. Plow through is unmatched, you can get some serious power
Try using more of an upwards leg drive- heavy racquets force you to engage your bigger muscle groups so in a way you could say that this racquet is great for training form
@@awesomeairplanememes i don’t think so. I mean sure perhaps it’s not 100 optimal. But for my play style I think it’s quite good. I’m not worried about the weight at all, I’ve played with head heavy racquets and 340 g racquets as well. But I get your point, I just feel it’s not a bad idea for me.
I added a lot of weight to the previous Rafa racket so the heavier frame didn’t bother me as much but it’s a frame that forces you to hit correctly. If you can handle it, I’d say go for it. If not, stay away and go with the lighter version.
A great collectible item that let you have fun few hour in and there . If you play with 280-290 gr rackets forget using it at all if you want to avoid injuries. If you anre strong and use to plat with 310+ gr racket you can use it for fun here and there. Don’t think no one should switch to a customized racket. Always start from a 300 gr base and customize base on whet you like more then neither player likes. Top players had years and years of training, stretching , physical therapy and their racket have evolved. Even Rafa didn’t start at that weight
Would be interested to see what would happen if you added a bit of weight to the buttcap to change the balance a bit. Similar to RF static weight. Wonder if that would help it feel a bit less sluggish as it would have a slight counterweight to the heavy head. Would be a fun experiment anyway.
I have Prestige MPs at 386 swingweight and I'd guess that the Origin would be easy to swing which is why I'm toying with the idea of getting one. I asked TW in their review and Troy says he keeps it in his bag and plays with it from time to time and it's a fun racquet. My guess is that the TW reviewers had some time to get used to it. I don't think that anyone in my circle of players is going to buy one and I wanted to just borrow one to see what it's like. One of the big cautions I have with high swingweight racquets is to not try to generate the same racquethead speed as with a normal racquet as you can develop golfer's elbow problems with it. Hitting groundstrokes is simpler, but you're loading up your whole arm with a lot of swingweght and you have to be careful not to damage the weakest links in the kinetic chain. I would have liked to see you guys hitting heavy topspin, a la Rafa, with the Origin.
@@christophersharp8235 I had it back in 2010. I didn't pick up a racquet for 6 months. Then went with a heavy, flexible racquet with high twistweight and also started doing the Flexbar and that's kept it away.
i subbed. I watched one other "review" and the dude was hitting flat weak balls. not really relevant to someone who is considering buying a 330 dollar racket i think i'll stick with my 2019 aero with some lead on the tip. thank you!
Thx for the review, Does the Rafa origin need weigh in the handle? Like for example add a heat shrink sleeve? Or just a leather grip with 1 over grip? Thx
wow, the guy around 6 minutes w/ the grey shirt looks to really popping off w/ this racquet. Don't think it's selective editting but he's got a great one handed BH and if I hadn't known the specs I would have thought he was using a normal aero.
I hope I can get some feedbacks from my question. I am having issues with forhand but love backhands. For the forhand, I am troubled with two things. 1st is the sweet spot. I play best with ps85 and its sweet spot is actually middle and lower to throat. I found this pureaero ‘s hitting spot is more near 12 o’clock rather thanps85’s 6 o’clock. With that difference, my forhand have to change or I don’t get power at all. Second, I found I am actually hitting a lot flatter than with ps85. And with less power despite I was swinging very hard. I strung ps85 at 57lb pro hurricane tour 16 and aero at 50lb alu 16 130. I added some weight to make it more or less near 7pts hl strung. Anyone can give me some help? Or was it just the weather? The humidity was extremely high in that day. I had played it before without as much weight in handle(but still some extra to bring to 5-6 pts hl least) and I didn’t felt the ball was so weak. The control is ok but just not as heavy and not lift up as at sunny bright day. Could humidity hurt you so much? It had rained 3 hrs ago before play. Court barely dry with wet spots.
After two weeks with the racket, it becomes a BEAST. It takes a lot of time to get used to it, but, IF you do, it’s unmatched. It actually feels more dampened than the regular Aeros, due to the weight around the head.
I went for the Pure Aero Rafa 290g version instead with 20g of extra weight to the handle. Even that felt quite hefty. I don't think I could manage an hour hit with the origin. I've noticed that the throat shape of the Rafa 2023 is slightly different from the regular 2023 and 2019 versions
100 % of the reviews on the internet choose the word "fun" to describe how this racquet plays. To tell you the truth , I think aero Rafa 290 is even funnier.
Very weird racket, I think it will be bought by newbies like the RF97 has been bought by newbies for years, this racket suits almost no one, it's too extreme. I remember when I got a late 70s Boron midsize Yonex R-27 it measured 351 SW strung, and using this racket was a damn workout, it was like a fitness tool, exhausted me after 40 min of play. And I am a somewhat strong person. I can't imagine myself swinging a 370+ SW racket for more than 5 minutes before it's hospital time
I am a short asian guy. I use RF97 for most of the time, the weight doesn’t bother me at all. I tend to generate power with legs and hip. My hands are loose.
@@Tennisnerd sounds great, well done to Karl! I met Roman in a Challenger in Germany last summer and he is indeed a nice guy (and a hell of a player!).

Be sure to try it with 1.35 shapped poly - stringbed becomes much more controlled.

I genuinely hope nobody switches to this at the rec level for their own sake, but I definitely plan to get one for fun haha
I will. I’m a huge baseline player + love Rafa + have a solid level now imo.

Which club is at that 1.12? nice courts
Mine come underspecs around 350 SW only.. using RPM blast 1.20 at 53lbs and weight is 340gr with an overgrip and a dampener
Aren't your arms getting tired if you have long sessions? 340gr is so heavy

So is this an aero pro drive mold? Or just a pure aero with similar specs to what rafa actually uses
Aero pro drive mold…you’re paying for old tech
sw 330-360
