  • Walmart's version of the Solo Stove Mesa XL: is it as good as the real thing? We are going to test it and give it a review. What burns best, wood or wood pellets? Is it smokeless? Is it better as a tabletop fire pit or camping stove? And more.

Simple hack: buy a cheap patio paver stone at Lowes, Home Depot, or your local patio/garden store. A 12x12x1.5 paver should run you $2 and be more than enough protection for any heat-vulnerable surface. Even an expensive and more decorative paver should only run you less than $5.

If you stand the kindling up it will burn longer than laying it down/across. Great video thank you 😊

Dude, your discussion ….you were sitting at a table! Expanded wire mesh, would be a fine table top to use it on, definitely not on wood or plastic top tho. At least you admitted you goofed up! Ha ha

Yeah, I definitely goofed up. Just didn’t think about it since I’ve tested so many tabletop fire pits on it before lol

I see you can buy stands similar to the solo stove, but they are around $40... At that point you might as well just buy the solo.

I usually start these from the top with tightly packed wood.
