Thank you to everyone who made this awesome documentary! I’ve never watched anything on TH-cam for almost 2 hours, but I didn’t want to put my phone down. As a disabled vet who knows about daily pain and everything that comes from it, I watched in awe. So many times I want to just sit here and not do anything, but you have truly inspired me to look at things more positively, Bruce. After watching what you’ve accomplished, I now realize that I need to stop feeling sorry for myself and get off my ass. I wish someday to see a show, and hope for the honor to meet and thank you in person. Your video truly touched me. Thank you for sharing your story, Bruce.
The world is full of people like him. The world needs to start paying attention to us. We aren't all as lucky as Bruce with a family and friends to support us. We don't have interviewers who actually care about our dreams. We don't get any glory for the dangerous work we do and we must overcome adversity just to survive.
I'm 57 years old and 40 years ago in high school football I fractured my neck and lower back in the same tackle I've had multple surgeries but no paralysis. I do know the constant pain though. and still live with it. Man you just inspired me to keep going. I first watched you build the Chevy Cateye Silverado into what is my dream truck. I just told my wife 2 hours ago b4 I watched you and your story, that I was going to quit building my truck I was giving up. But how can I not complete my lifelong dream after knowing what all you have already accomplished. THANK YOU!!!!
I went through a long period of drug addiction (8 years) and I’ve been struggling with dealing with life sober, but I’m going to have a new outlook now. Thanks Bruce, you’re the man.
Usually I’m kind of cynical about these kind of “feel good” or wow he did it! stories. All the positivity is just too easy for me to make fun of in my head. But when he started riding again, and when he hit the first backflip into the foam pit, I was dam near crying man. I used to ride motocross for years and I never even got close to trying a backflip and both my legs work perfectly fine. Here this guy is with no use of his legs, constant pain, the threat of catastrophic injury, pretty much every single reason ever needed to not try it. And he didn’t even hesitate for a minute. What a fucking hero you are Bruce. I realize after watching this that I truly have nothing to complain about, and that your attitude and approach to life determines what and how you do everything. This guy is out there putting on a badass show for the world doing the thing he loves more than anything, and nothing short of death can stop him. I love it, and I’m gonna try to be half the man Bruce is from now on ✊
Hahah I appreciate this comment so much as I’m the same way with feel good stories, so it means even more coming from someone similar 😂 also rarely read the comments but here we are. Thanks Talbot! 🍻
@@BruceCookfmx holy shit man I never thought you’d actually see my comment! That’s crazy. It’s also funny because I have been telling a few people about this documentary lately and how it just really stuck with me. It just reminds me to have a lot more of a “shut up, quit complaining, and get it done” approach to things. Honestly man I hope you know how many people have probably seen this and heard your story and came away with a better outlook on life
Love the part when you said, even if the Dr. says I can't, I'm still going to get back on the bike. I love that! ❤ I broke my T5 & T6 when my horse came out from under me. I was 64! I had my bionic rods put in and did my rehab time. Three months later & without the Dr. approval I was back up on my horse again! That was just over a yr. ago and it's been a slow road, but I'm back in the saddle, a bit slower, but I could not be happier! I can now ride for 2½ hrs. Keep it up Bruce! A passion never dies!
I don’t know why. I watched this. I had a bike accident in 1980 that paralyzed me for months. ( spinal cord damaged but not severed) Bruce is a inspiration to all of us Thank you for this. It scares the crap out of me to think about it. That it could have been worse. God Bless you Bruce. You give us all hope. In true Canadian spirt “ you are my hero!
Man at the beginning of this I was thinking "Man two hours is gonna be hart to sit through" but it felt like such a short time. This biography is so well made it just enraptured me the whole time. Fantastic work Nitro Circus crew, and you're a legend and inspiration Bruce! Literally 5 seconds after his first test ride on his bike he's trying to pop a wheelie, that should show his true determination and desire to get back to where he was as soon as possible.
For real bro dudes a inspiration. Was watching it on my phone thinking ill watch a few minutes of it see what it is. But it so interesting that I had to switch it over to my tv.TV. dudes a beast for sure. Most people would have just crawled in a hole and never come it out.
Not only does this man have balls of steel, he has a heart of gold. Here in Canada he goes out of his way to help 4x4'ers stuck in the bush that post in facebook groups asking for help. Free of charge of course, regardless of the conditions or amount of hours required for the rescue. Such a quality dude, that deserves all the respect in the world. Thank you Bruce.
I have an identical twin brother and we grew up on a large farm and lived almost exactly like you and your brother except we were amateur skateboarders, and one day I decided to climb the whole way to the top of our “eagles nest” (stand alone 8 story tree house) and backflip to the trampoline and my brother and cousin were jumping not expecting it, their bouncing threw me around 11 stories up and I hit the roof of the treehouse that flipped me around and I ended up crushing both of my hips my lower legs snapped and my ankles were both smashed… My heart broke hearing your brothers experience because the last thing I remembered was how terrified my brother was and when I came out of surgery the first thing I remember was begging to see him so he wasn’t so scared, I was so lucky to eventually rebuild my hips and your incredible video just mentally reset my outlook on things! I’m emotional and you inspire me 18 years after my accident to fight the pain because you are so strong and I got lucky, you’re amazing man! I hid from my sponsors and comp representative for years and here you are showing such incredible strength and appreciation for life and that inspired me more than you could imagine brother, God bless you and your family and keep showing others how to decide not to hide!also I still skate to this day but I have always regretted the years I let it hold me back and I respect you an incredible amount for your determination and perseverance, your an inspiration for the ages bro you rock!
I’m in tears after this. I was paralyzed in a hit & run on a motorcycle 4 years ago. I wish I could have seen this right after the crash. I spent two years depressed and thinking my life was over. Now I’m using the HKAFO in therapy 3x a week and am considering stem cell surgery. This was truly inspirational for me.
I straight up believe this is a story that they should be playing schools to teach kids how to overcome obstacles and themselves!!! What a story man, i've known the whole story but watching it is a completely different beast and a very strong message!!!
Dam what a dude what a sport......I have a fused c1 c2 c3 neck I can no longer skate and have been in that frame of mind where nothing really makes me happy...I'm in tears watching this ,,I know now what inspiration is ,,
Recently broke my leg on my 125 and me my mum and my dad went to the hospital in a truck and the hardest part was having my mum tearing up in the back. It’s just horrible knowing that you’re putting someone close to you through so much stress and mental pain and that there’s nothing you can do about it.
A few weeks ago i crashed in a race on my 85 with possible neck, rib, arm and hip fractures and i was sad i missed the rest of the day but i tried as hard as i could to be positive like bruce and turns out i was fine just aching and i felt bad for a few of my friends who have had really bad crashes recently.
@@aphysique much better it still effects me especially in the cold and the doctor said I’d almost definitely get arthritis in my leg but I’ve learnt from it and I have a new found respect for people who spend their whole lives with any form of handicap
This reminds me about my childhood. I grew up skateboarding with the older crowd. They told me I would have to walk home if I didn't drop in on this huge vert ramp. So I did it, fell got up did it again and landed it. People do influence you every day . Just remember the times you have in your life because you will never forget it...
I was in an accident with my bike, my heart stopped when i was cruising at 45-50 km/h without a helmet, i woke up the day after at the hospital, was like getting teleported from the bike to the hospital. I've gotted 2 brain hemorrhages, my shoulder had a 3 point fracture (My arm was hanging only in my biceps, My shoulder had no attachment anywhere in my body), and my collarbone was fractured, and 4 of my ribs, and multiple fractured in the face and a few cracks all around the body. It took 1 year and 7 months untill i got the operation because they only focused on the collarbone and didnt notice the shoulder at first, not even on x-rays. My accident happened 8th August 2019, and i still can't work, got multiple traumas, can't even go outside for 2 hours without getting fever, since my body is so weak and damaged, and is still healing. The doctors didn't find the fractures at first, so no one believed me for a whole year, not even my own family, since the doctors said they couldn't find anything, but on the outside you could see how damaged it was, i dropped from 102kg to 54 in 50 days, i didnt eat anything, and almost died from malnutrition. I can relate so much to Bruce, but he found a purpose atleast. And im so happy for him, i wish i had a interest that could help me get outside and have fun and not to much physical effort. this video really inspired me alot, thanks!
Well Casey LaDelle got me on that one. He got me and a bunch of other people. LOL. What an incredible story, talk about determination, it's that and a whole lot more. What a family as well. Good luck in all your endeavors Bruce you are a true inspiration to a lot of people.

I had a much less serious accident where i nearly lost my arm. The nerve pain and lack of movement in my arm from the accident in 2019 absolutely destroyed me. I was addicted painkillers and later heroin, I was utterly defeated and destroyed with not a hope in the world. I cannot begin to imagine trying to go through everything I had to deal with, with the whole world watching and not being able to even walk or go to the bathroom. I am doing better now, nearly 2 years clean but it still derailed my life so far that I just can't even begin to explain how outstanding and inspirational Bruce's willpower and drive to stick with what he loves. Amazing! Hope things get better for you. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Wow God Bless you
@@Jmeez69 I hope you get better man!!!
I’m glad you’re alive homie. Have a good one
Keep on keeping on bro i pray that the lord blesses u and helps u through all of your issues love ya brother
Incredibly inspirational. The world needs more people like you man. ❤
Even tho I’m a year late on this man oh man did i cry like a baby when Bruce Landed the backflip , Bruce you are one brave man !
Bro ur a beast I broke my neck in a car wreck and it changed my life forever but like your injury changed yours keep grinding bro
The more of this I watch the more I love his dad. He's a truly amazing man
I went through a long period of drug addiction (8 years) and I’ve been struggling with dealing with life sober, but I’m going to have a new outlook now. Thanks Bruce, you’re the man.
Your not alone, blessings 🙏
I broke my T5 & T6 when my horse came out from under me.
I was glued to this documentary . I watched it with my 7 year old and we were both amazed at Bruce what a legend.
I hope it all goes well
Remember “Pressure makes diamonds” you got this for here on….
💪💪💪
I straight up believe this is a story that they should be playing schools to teach kids how to overcome obstacles and themselves!!! What a story man, i've known the whole story but watching it is a completely different beast and a very strong message!!!
So proud of the people around him. Family and friends being supportive. ❤️
Couldn’t do it without them! ❤️❤️
I agree 100%
Dam what a dude what a sport......I have a fused c1 c2 c3 neck I can no longer skate and have been in that frame of mind where nothing really makes me happy...I'm in tears watching this ,,I know now what inspiration is ,,
😊 that's good mate. I wish you all the best in being able to do what you wanna do in life ☀️
Bruce you mad man i loved this never been more happy for a stranger
I've never had a bigger smile then watching him land the backflip
😃👍🏻
Same man
Bruce Cook is my hero.
I really appriciate from Japan.
How can someone not like this video.
The man broke his back and come back even harder . 🙏 inspiring.
Superman, is that you...loved this🖤
A story of courage and determination. Congratulations Bruce Cook, God bless
We all love you Bruce. You will always be the biggest fighter in FMX history.
Bruce Cook you absolute bloody legend!!! From Australia with love my Brother
How R u doing 8 MONTHS l8r?
@@aphysique much better it still effects me especially in the cold and the doctor said I’d almost definitely get arthritis in my leg but I’ve learnt from it and I have a new found respect for people who spend their whole lives with any form of handicap
BC. Those initials are all the motivation that I will ever need. Thank you for showing the rest of us how to FIGHT. Ride on brother, ride on!
Bruce, you are so strong and blessed, I am sure God chose you to show us what's possible!
Love you brother, you’ve been an inspiration to all of us.
The most moving documentary I have ever seen. Bruce you are a true warrior man. Thanks for your testimony.
That means a lot, thanks!
Goosebumps, inspiration, determination this guy is a legend!!!! and such a inspiration for everyone!! No words only love for u men!!!!❤❤❤❤#smileforbc
Bruce you are the man... Love you brother.
🍻🍻
How could anybody not be inspired by this story. Wow! God be with you Bruce.
This reminds me about my childhood. I grew up skateboarding with the older crowd. They told me I would have to walk home if I didn't drop in on this huge vert ramp. So I did it, fell got up did it again and landed it. People do influence you every day
That lawnmower wheelie was Claaaaaaaasic!!!!! The antics hilaaaariooouus!!!!!! Great movie!!!!!!
Well Casey LaDelle got me on that one. He got me and a bunch of other people. LOL. What an incredible story, talk about determination, it's that and a whole lot more. What a family as well. Good luck in all your endeavors Bruce you are a true inspiration to a lot of people.
Forget world records or world firsts, this is how it should be, forget all your injuries just do what u enjoyed before and it will feel like your back to before accidents. Most inspiring story i heard in my life so far..
You're a legend, a warrior, and a humble human being, Bruce. This was an emotional rollercoaster. It's courageous having a positive attitude through all this, truly inspirational. Stay up, and keep fighting you beast! The best Doc I've ever seen, 100% no question!
Rob from NorCal.
Thanks rob! That means a lot 🍻
I've never been more impressed with someone. So amazing, what a person. A true pillar of inspiration, for and from all his freinds and family as well.
Tbh I hadn't heard of Bruce before seeing this but I'm happy I got to see this man's story, after that horrible injury to come back and show his strength and courage is so inspirational, what an amazing guy good luck in all your future endeavours
I was just going to watch your documentary for few mins before going to bed. Only to find myself watching the entire video. I’ve lived on this earth for 36years and I must say, I have never seen any soul like you. You are such an inspiration. Im so happy for the kind of supportive family God has blessed you with. I pray and hope you walk on your feet soon because I know there is nothing God cannot do… I will always remember you in my prayers. keep doing what you love hun. Xoxoxoxoxo @brucecook

Unbelievable human being an such a great guy, after watching this incredible man I’ll always look at him when I think I’m having a bad time .......what a guy speechless 👍🏻
🍻🍻
This family is amazing!! Pay attention at the end of video like last five minutes when his mom is explaining her concerns of Bruce going back on your "WITH THE BODY HE HAS NOWADAYS!!!".... Never said disabled!!! Strong, determined, never quit!!!
This guy is my hero! I so often feel like giving up. Especially lately. Then I found this! Never give up! You got this! Felt like he was speaking to me. BC is one of God’s most special beautiful people! We love you Bruce!
Stay strong Champ 👑💪
Amazing video, amazing family and amazing person. Love from Australia!
You're the definition of a legend bro! ❤ I'm sure your story has saved lives, we need people like you who not only refuse to give up but constantly push their limits regardless of the consequences. #SmilebecauseofBc💯
God bless you, and keep ripping.🤘
This was emotional I started crying when I saw him crash my heart stopped and I just cried
This guy is the most inspirational person I have ever seen in my life he deserves the best and I hope for him to get best for the rest of his life

What an absolute hero. On a bike, in life, and in general.
Thank you!
Bruce Cook, you're a living legend. Nothing less!
Stay strong Bruce sending love from the uk 🇬🇧
Broke my L2-S1 and had to stay in the hospital for 6 days for surgeries. Used a walker to move around after. Took years to recover. Still have tons of problems. Currently back in physical therapy to keep going. The entire time I would think about people worse off than me. One of the people I thought about was Bruce... and that friggen backflip he did tied post injury. He’s a damn legend.
Dude might be down two legs but still rides better than most of us can ever dream of riding. What an inspiration man.
Thanks! 🍻
Wao the best story i ever seen that's pure courage and dedication to what you love God bless 🙏 this guy and what you said the sky is the limit
