I hope this man realises that even though he's gone, his videos still help SO many people, I just got here and I already love the honesty and the style of video you did. Thank you for helping me out, this game was exactly what I wanted and I'll buy it! Hopefully they make ShadowVerse Champion's Battle II one day.
That's very kind of you to say. I do check back here from time to time just to see if anyone needs a question answered, so I do see the comments😊. I'm glad my review was able to help you and I hope you enjoy the game. I really do miss making videos but with how things are.....its just not possible. I might be able to do something in the future but honestly, its not likely. Anyway, thanks again!
This game is easily one of the best hidden gems for Switch. Enjoyable single player experience if you like card games and can take around 60-70h or even more if you take your time, to complete. Bought the physical version for 30 euro and for sure was totally worth.
Definitely agree. I really did have a great time with it and if you got it for 30Euro that's a huge bargain! I'm glad you're enjoying it and thank you very much for watching my video! I appreciate that!👍🏻
Welcome aboard! Thanks a lot for the sub :) Yea, I really like this game so I want to make sure to get some good content out for it (in between my other videos). Would you be interested in seeing a tips video based on general deck building?
I've played for about 10 hours, and this game is already miles ahead of the recent Yugioh rush duels game in presentation and production. The story beats are fully voiced, there are occasional drawn stills and anime cutscenes, the 3D models emote and move during conversations. The only thing rush duel seems to have over Shadowverse is more special summoning animations for certain monsters, but they range from passable to comically bad imo. This game has it in the bag for the story mode, no contest. This game has the most friendly battle pass I've ever seen at a glance. No FOMO, no P2W, the only big items are all cosmetics as far as I can tell. It's a shame, because I wish Konami would put this much effort into their games so I could enjoy both equally, but I don't see myself buying the rush duel game outside of a steep discount.
Hey Goomy! Well I'm glad you're enjoying it and I have to agree with your comments. I haven't played the new Rush Duel Yugioh game yet (mainly because its digital only and way too expensive for what it is) but I have seen a lot of it. Its also kinda weird that we even got it in the west as Rush Duels is a Japanese/ Korean only part of the game at the moment. You're absolutely right about this game though, I think its a brilliant tcg game and frankly, I would play a real life version if it existed lol. I've played real life Yugioh on and off for nearly 20 years so I DO like Yugioh but the new Rush Duel game doesn't look great. Anyway, thanks a lot for watching the video and for leaving a comment. I appreciate that a lot. 👍🏻😊
This game feels a lot like Buddyfight, now that you mention that. RIP Buddyfight also I'm DEEP into Vanguard myself, have been for the last ten years and after a few days of playing this game I can say I absolutely love it too.
Yep, Buddyfight is basically dead in the west. I think it does pretty well in Asian territories but not so much over here. Its a shame because I loved that game. I was a Legend World player mainly. Using Durendal, Arthur etc. I still have my Durendal SP actually. I played Vanguard when it first came out in English and was generally a Kagero player but I kinda fell off of it when I couldn't afford it anymore. Great game though. Have you tried the new Digimon TCG? I'm tempted to get into it honestly.
@@ConsolesOnlyGaming Sadly Bushiroad discontinued Buddyfight, it's one more game to add to the pile of dead Bushiroad games alongside Luck and Logic, Dragoborne etc. I miss my Ancient World and Hero World decks. Duel Sieger is one of my favorite decks in any card game. But they've chosen to focus entirely on Vanguard and Weiss Schwarz alone, and while I don't play any other real life TCGs, Vanguard itself is doing very well right now. I chose to not invest in other card games besides Vanguard a while ago, it was the only way to keep my wallet safe. I have yet to try Digimon
A small correction: in the original pc/mobile Shadowverse game, they give you an option to purchase packs with real money. You can still get packs with in game currency. Great review though!
Hey there, thanks for bringing that up. I did actually know about that, I was just making sure people know that it included the option to buy packs with real money which Champion's Battle doesn't have. I probably should have been clearer on that, my apologies :) Anyway, thanks for the kind words and for watching. Its much appreciated :D
Thanks for the great review! Mobile player here: Having a limited set I feel is pretty great vs the 2021 sets. Having gotten into the game this year I felt it was all too overwhelming with so many selections and feeling missed out from previous expansions since they don’t give you much free card packs for those you only end up focusing on one specific expansion anyways. With the switch I feel like I can actually get the satisfaction of collecting them all! Or at last most of them
You're very welcome :D And yea, I really do agree! Coming into any card game late can be incredibly overwhelming both for digital ones and physical ones. Would I like more cards in the game? Yes I would, BUT I like that there is a limited card pool because as you said, it allows you to get to know the game better and understand pretty much every card that available to you. For a lot of people, that simplicity makes it more accessible, which is always a good thing :)
From what I see in the demo, it's just the classic set and no portalcraft. Do you know if there's been any statement about adding more to it or not? Excited to get into it, I loved it on steam back in 2016
Hey there, as far as I've seen, the game includes a Classic Pack, Darkness Evolved and Rise of Bahamut (plus some anime exclusive cards). That's about it though. Unfortunately, I haven't heard anything about adding sets or extra cards at all at this time :(
Saw my friend owning this so I might pick it up. I think the one thing I like about these types of games is the fact that its still the full game but you can get all the cards for free (aside from paying for the base game). i dont really care for the battle pass either since I probably won't really play online. It is a bit unfortunate there isnt a lot of cards and I tried looking it up but I dont think there are any more packs added even after one year
Yea, that's not a bad idea. I think the game is generally really good and worth playing if you're into trading card games, especially if you're friend owns it too. Its also not a full priced game (at least physically) so its not gunna break the bank. The lack of new cards is definitely a shame but it will take you a long time to obtain everything in the game, so there's that. Thanks very much for checking out my review, I really appreciate it and I hope you enjoy the game if you decide to pick it up.👍🏻😊
That is true, yea I wouldn't pay for them at all. I mean, you DO need to pay for the battle pass AND for Nintendo online but I dunno. I just think it should all be in the game as standard and I personally wish you could progress the pass offline against NPC's. That's my personal opinion though, I know a lot of people (and I mean A LOT) love to play these digital card games online against other people but I personally don't. To each their own I suppose!
Thanks a lot for your kind words. I genuinely appreciate that. I just do my best and I don't like pushing my opinions as facts. I like to give people factual information first and then my opinion afterwards (which people are free to disagree or agree with, I really don't mind). Anyway, thanks for the kind words and for watching my video. 👍🏻😊
I also played the fan service game as well. I also played it at christmas, it's a really good game. I might just buy this game some time but Uno is taking my card game time at the moment
Have you played this game online? When I try to play free and ranked matches it takes a bit to find opponents. Also have you tried to check your ranking data? The screen just loads forever and then I think it says communication error. Also is there a way for me to battle you? I think you would probably beat me. I’m currently using Swordcraft and faced a Dragoncraft player who beat me pretty good.
Haha, no actually I haven't, I rarely play games online against other people these days. I don't play any multiplayer game anymore. When I was younger I played Halo 2 and Gears of War multiplayer for hours and hours but online VS doesn't really interest me anymore unfortunately. Plus you have to have Nintendo's paid online membership to play online which I don't have and won't pay for. I really don't think the game has sold very well sadly. It's kinda unknown and it doesn't have any English Anime which would draw in the younger players so most people have no idea what it is. Oh well, it is what it is, thanks very much for watching though :)
OMFG how the hell did i not know about this game. Funny i come accross this video today after i have been looking for some TCG/CCGs on steam and console to scratch an itch this past week. Was getting a bit tired of just the Yugioh games so im buying this right now. Played a little bit of the original years ago and this looks fun as hell lol.
Good to hear :) you can grind out as many coins and packs as you want from the first set in the demo, so you can have a good head start when/ if you get the full game.
Hey there, no problem :D I've tested the game on TV, Handheld Mode and on a Switch Lite and I found the text to be easy to read in all cases. If you need glasses to read standard books then you would probably need them here but if you don't wear glasses at all, then you'll probably be fine. I hope that helps :) Thanks for watching!
Most of the cutscene dialogue is voiced along with text boxes, but not for any of the quests or the MC’s thoughts so you’ll have to make sure you pay attention and not have auto forward on.
I played a lot of Legacy of the Duelist for Yugioh and as far as I can remember they charged for extra cards. I can't 100% remember but I THINK they added cards as paid for decks? In regards to SDBH I actually don't know as I've never played that.
This is one of those games that has way more effort put into it than you would ever think. From getting dubbed in English (the anime still never got localized and apparently people don't like it...that's a bummer) to the presentation fitting perfectly for the type of game it is. Hell....back in August they released a Legendary Edition which has the premium pass rewards included from the start. The funniest part? ...it's actually cheaper than the original going from 50 to 30 bucks. That's just funny to me XD
Wow yea, that IS a damn good deal. I really enjoyed the game and I hope that we get the real life card game in the West at somepoint. Probably wont happen BUT we are getting Bandai's Battle Spirits Trading Card Game next year so you never know! But yea, great game all round and well worth a go if you like TCG's. Thanks for giving it a watch!👍🏻
@@ConsolesOnlyGaming oh man! I have a friend who watched some.of the anime! Rhe fact were getting a second attempt (yeah they tried back in the day) is awesome. .....imagine if theu tried bringing Duel Masters back...? That series is HUGE in Japan :0
Yea, looking forward to Battle Spirits!😊 I played Duel Masters the first time around actually, I remember buying the first ever english starter decks and the base set packs. I played it all the way up until it died, I was a fire/darkness player. We didnt officially get the reboot here in the UK. There was a few sellers who imported it but we had zero actual product or tournament support officially. I've been learning Japanese for a while now and I'm kinda tempted to buy some of the Japanese cards lol.
@@ConsolesOnlyGaming oh man imagine going into the Japanese scene based purely off the western English sets XD you have literal decades worth of meta to learn XD. And Battle Spirits I never played but I've seen clips from the various animes so seeing another take has mt interest. I love these types of games like Vanguard. I also tried stuff like Buddy fight and Luck and Logic. Games like this are fun but ever since I moved im desire to get more newer card games has sadly diminished :(. Guess that's why I got so into deck building games. All the fun if card games without so much monetary investment XD
Buddyfight was a game that I was HEAVILY into. I played Dragon World at the start but then later on I played Legend World. I had a lot of sneak preview event playmats and all sorts of stuff. I dont have the decks anymore because, you know, the game died and I got out of it, but I still kept my foil SP version of the Durendal sword😊 I currently play Vanguard OverDress myself. I have the physical copy of Dear Days on the way to me from Play Asia lol. I have a few real decks but I recently made a Lyserg deck which is awesome👍🏻. My main game was Yugioh for a long time. I played it since it first released all the way up to a few years ago. I was very into it.
That's probably a good idea, especially if you're not going to play online. The pass in the UK is £5.99 but I'm not sure about the U.S. I would guess around $8? Hope that helps! Thanks for watching :)
How many cards are available for SOLO/OFFLINE players? I have ZERO interest in the multiplayer mode so that's why I'm asking. I'm also curious if this game tracks wins/losses for the STORY mode battles, and if this game lets you play SOLO, OFFLINE, OUTSIDE of the story?
Hey there, thanks for the questions 😊 The game has a alittle bit over 600 cards to collect for the main game/ solo play. I'm not 100% sure on this but I THINK, they may add a few cards that are exclusive to the online battle pass down the line but as I said, I can't confirm that. The game does track wins in the story mode but not losses as far as I can see. In regards to your last question, you can play the entire game solo without ever going online. When you say "outside" of the story do you mean just randomly battling CPU opponents? If so, once you've finished the story (or even during it) you can freely walk around the game world and battle as many CPU players as you 'd like, as many times as you want. You could literally battle the same player 100 times in a row and still earn coins to buy the packs. I hope that helps 👍If you need any more info, let me know.
@@ConsolesOnlyGaming Right on!! Thanks for this info. I'm sold. I played some of the iOS version today. I like the game but hate all the iOS iap related options, etc.. I DO like the theme much more though. But I'd rather play the offline Switch modes. One LAST question; for solo/offline, the WINS are tracked which is great, but does it track TOTAL BATTLES? That would be nice because then we can track our win and loss %. If the game doesn't tracker total battles, then you can't do this! I mean why track wins but not losses? Strange... yeah I'm a "stats" guy. Glad to hear this tracks something but still.. does it track total battles?
Hey no problem at all! Happy to help! I've had a quick look in the menus and as far as I can see, it tracks wins per deck type. So wins with Dragoncraft, wins with Forestcraft etc. I can't see anything about losses or total battles though. My only guess as to why they don't track that stuff is that they don't want to hurt peoples feelings. I know that sounds ridiculous, and it is, but I've noticed a trend with that, some online shooter games don't track deaths in a match, only kills. I've heard stories of developers doing that to avoid people feeling like they are bad at the game and to stop others sending abuse their way. I can't confirm all that, but its what I hear. I hope you enjoy Shadowverse on the switch when you pick it up. Also just so you know, you can download a demo of Shadowverse on the switch right now and everything you do in it in can be transferred to the full game, so that might be something you want to take advantage of? Anyway, cheers for watching and for your questions 😊
@@ConsolesOnlyGaming Ah thanks for the info. Hurt feelings?? YEah ridiculous... but all progress done in the demo transfers to the full game. THAT is sweet. I'm on this!
Great review, thank you! I do disagree with your only ‘con’ though. 😅 Judging from your comments about the battle pass/dlc, I can tell you’ve never played the OG Shadowverse on mobile. Because if you had, you’d know that the battle pass on mobile is around $20-40 USD (reg or premium boosted) and buying packs with real money can be *quite* costly. (You can definitely grind currency on mobile but it can be tough and it is easily spent.) IMO - I wouldn’t consider the paid options as a drawback. Nearly every game on the market has them. They’re inexpensive and optional. 🤷🏻♂️ Especially when compared to its mobile counterpart.
Hey Steven, Thanks a lot for watching, I appreciate it :) And that's fine! We're allowed to disagree :D Its no problem. I can see your position on the subject as you already shared your opinion. I'll give you my view, just so you know where I'm coming from. I did actually know about the mobile version, I know how it works and roughly how much things cost but you're correct that I've never played it. I consider paid options in all games as a drawback. The way I see it, just because nearly every game on the market has them, it doesn't make them good or OK (in my opinion of course). I agree that the Switch game is far better in terms of monetization though. There's no doubt there. I do not play any games on phone and I don't partake in microtransactions whatsoever. I play Genshin Impact on PS5 but I'm a free to play player and don't pay for pulls of characters or anything like that. I find it difficult to agree with microtransactions being optional. Because, lets say you want to collect all the cards in the game, well you either grind an ungodly amount until you give up or pay money. I feel like simply having those paid options in the games affects the design of the game. BUT, having said that, a lot of people are OK with games being like that. Gaming has changed a lot since I was younger and I'm just not that keen on how some things work these days. I think we're basically on the same page but we differ on if the type of monetization is OK or not. That's fine though, thank you very much for giving your opinion in a respectful way, I cant tell you how much I appreciate that in my comments section :D
@@ConsolesOnlyGaming Hey, thanks for the reply! I do agree with you in the sense that it doesn’t make it necessarily ‘good’ or ‘OK’ for games to be P2W by means of microtransactions - but in today’s time, it’s almost unavoidable. I think what I was getting at is based on modern gaming trends, $1-5 for a DLC isn’t that bad. Especially in comparison with its counterpart on mobile, where the same “DLC” essentially is double or triple the price. This game doesn’t seem to make you sweat that hard when grinding coins to buy packs. And I’m pretty sure you can obtain all of the cards via coins in this version of the game. As for the battle pass - yes, it does offer resources that make obtaining cards even easier but like I said before, you can get all of that stuff by grinding the game. (For FTP players.) also, it’s all RNG when it comes to pack openings. So technically speaking whether you get the packs via grinding or battle pass makes little difference. I’m not trying to defend corporate greed but it seems to be the way most games do things nowadays. It doesn’t make it right but it is the way it is and I doubt that’ll change, if not get worse. Hopefully they don’t make packs DLC, LOL. Then I’m 100% with you because that would be wack. But thank you for the thought out reply, cheers! 😊 Also I’m subscribing. Haha.
No problem dude :D Happy to chat about this stuff honestly. I guess if I was to just boil it down to basics, I'd like all games to be a single price and content complete. So you pay, I dunno, maybe 40-60 USD (Im in UK so maybe 35-50 GBP) and you get the game and all content. Rather than the game being free and then you keep paying in to it. I'm OK with large expansions that add a lot of content but I just personally don't like the F2P model or microtransactions. It just is what it is I suppose lol. But you know, I'm not arrogant and I know that a lot of people are perfectly fine with it and as you said, its basically the way of the world now. I don't like it being that way but you're very right about it being basically unavoidable. I mean, I also don't support digital downloads of games unless there's literally no other option. I have never purchased a full price game digitally. Again though, not saying others have to think like me. In fact, that's what I've based my channel on, exactly what we've just done. Talking about our views in a constructive way. Even if I don't agree with an opinion, I can respect it and understand it. Oh and yea, packs as DLC would be awful! lol Completely agree there! Anyway dude, thanks very much for the conversation and of course, for the sub. I genuinely appreciate that :D
My main concern is that if I already play the 2016 mobile version a lot, is this game still worth buying? The free roam and grinding specific people remind me of the old Pokémon and yu-gi-oh card games, and I loved those. Edit: I bought it anyway and I am loving it.
If you want to play it for the RPG side of it and play the story then I think its worth a go. It only has cards from the first 3 sets and some anime exclusives though. I'd never played the mobile versions so this was great for me but yea, maybe wait for a sale? Thanks for watching :)
@@ConsolesOnlyGaming damn! Il have to buy this one then. The Closest i remembered was duel masters on the ps2 but that one used 2D characters and a point and click style.
Oh man, Duel Masters on PS2! I had that game back in the day myself. I played the real card game too! But yea, sorry about that, I really can't think of any off the top of my head :( There are definitely a lot of digital card games out there BUT, they aren't really RPG's like Shadowverse is.
@@ConsolesOnlyGaming i recently played the yugioh rush duels demo, and it seems to have similar (but Worse) rpg elements. Unless there are more maps on the yugioh game, it just seems like they put far less effort into every enviroment
Yeah the battlepass + NSO for someone like me who refuses to pay for online was a massive turn off for me. Also about the amount of cards. To my understanding they are using sets according to the anime and I don't remember when, they added their portal cards. So maybe. maaaaybe we could get an expansion introducing the portal cards into this game + story and characters.
Yea definitely. Glad to hear I'm not the only one who found the online stuff a bit crappy haha! As far as I understand it, this game only has the first 3 sets from the pc game and some anime/ game exclusives. So that's Classic Pack, Darkness Evolved and Rise of Bahamut I think (plus the anime/ game exclusives I mentioned). It will probably depend on sales of the game and sales of the battle pass I would imagine. Maybe they'll do something amazing and keep the battle pass as their stream of income and release new sets/ story content for free. I doubt it, considering the 28 leader skins in the eshop right now but we'll see haha! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment :D Much appreciated!
Hey there, I actually never purchased it and I don't remember exactly how much it was but I THINK it was around £8 or $10. Might actually be a little less than that. In regards to purchasing it more than once, yea you do. If you only want to play one season, then you pay for that one and then you don't pay again. However, if you want to play season 2 for example you'd have to pay again for another season. It only works for online matches and you can't progress the battle pass by playing offline in any way. So if you don't plan to play online then you don't need the pass. Thanks a lot for watching my video and I hope I answered your question 😊
Hey there, yea I get exactly what you mean. It does definitely clash. I think its one of those things where you'll either really notice it or not care about it at all. For me, I don't mind it too much because the cards are from an app that the characters are using to play the game so you can kinda get away with it. Its not too much different from us real life people playing Magic the Gathering. I do agree on the anime style though, the characters visual design isn't enough to make them stand out. That said, I don't hate it, it just isn't that great. Anyway, thanks for watching and commenting, I appreciate it. 👍
Thank you very much friend. I'm just doing what I can at the moment. I hope to improve as I move forward with the channel :D Thanks for watching and I'll be doing some more content on this game and of course, more reviews on other games soon.
Probably because of Skyrim? Its also spelt "Dragoborne" and it was a trading card game made by Bushiroad. I think it only got 4 booster sets and then got cancelled. I really enjoyed it for the short time I played it.
Sooo got the demo. Is there a point in this game where you can just jump into battle and be presented with less yap yap yap story? I know there’s a SKIP button but will skipping parts of this mean I will miss certain HINTS, or are those not really needed? So far I like this but trying to get used to the cards is a little challenging because they look too similar to me. I guess I need more practice. Also looking at DungeonTop and MonsterTrain. Both a bit different. I never cared for SlayTheSpire that much but I heard Monstertrain is a little easier. It looks cooler imho. And then DungeonTop; also looks cool, simpler with a tactical movement twist. Hmmmmmm
Hey there, the game is basically like that all the way through. I personally didn't mind that at all, but if it bothers you then it will probably continue to do so. There are some breaks in the story where you can just walk around the school and battle whoever you want pretty quickly. But there isn't really a way to just battle someone with out walking around and talking them. I've heard of slay the spire but not the other 2 you mentioned. I'll have to look into them. Thanks for watching though 😊👍
It doesn’t look like they can. You get a promo code that you can type in to get some bonuses from the mobile game if you buy the one on the switch, but I can’t seem to find where to input it and there doesn’t seem to be any inter connectivity between games.
Nice! Glad I could help! I'm still really enjoying the game myself and trying to collect everything haha. I'll be doing some more content on the game soon :D Thanks for watching!
Hey there, I believe the game has full Japanese voice acting and also a full English dub. You can change it in the options menu which is found in the "System" menu.
@@ConsolesOnlyGaming Thanks for the info, I just don't want to buy the physical copy and find out it doesn't have one. Just hope that is the case Thanks once again.
Very fair point. When I first saw the card art mixed with the anime style of the story, I felt the same way but after a short while, it just didn't bother me any more. Also, to the characters in the game, Shadowverse is just a mobile app card game, not a real life one. So to them, its the same as real people us playing Hearthstone or something like that if you see what I mean? Thanks for watching :)
I don't understand the appeal of playing this vs the original mobile phone game. I'm probably missing something and I maybe in the minority on this but I've been playing the game since like a year or so after it's mobile release and the idea of starting over on a console game just kinda turns me off. It doesn't seem like I can transfer my decks into this version of the game and I can't play portalcraft in this version of the game which portalcraft isn't my main but it was my second favorite class so the fact that it's not here is even more of a turn off to me. But to anyone who likes both games or has played both games and has any thoughts on this matter please lmk. I was considering purchasing this game but as it stands I don't see a reason to buy it.
Yea, I think so too. Just a genuinely enjoyable game. Shame about the battle pass and dlc BUT having said that, its still really good in my opinion :) Thanks for watching!
That is a very fair point. For me personally, I don't play games on PC or on my phone so that's a big reason right there. Also, again for me, I don't like the free to play model of the actual Shadowverse game and I really don't like to play other people, just the NPC's. So I guess, with all that plus the fact this game has the story and I can play it on my Switch, this version is the easy winner. Thanks for watching :)
I want to correct everyone. The "Online Game Pass" can be played offline. Connect online("X">Network>Online_Communication), then disconnect, next just play any normal offline match. Connect back to online, and check your progress, it goes up.
That's an interesting bit of info. I assume that's not intended though? Like more of a glitch than an actual offline mode? I genuinely don't know because all of the information I've ever seen says that you need to play online against other people to progress the battle pass. If you can progress the pass while offline that's great but from what you've said, it seems like a glitch. I be interested to know more if you have any extra insight? Either way, cheers for sharing that and watching the video. I appreciate it.👍🏻

This game feels a lot like Buddyfight, now that you mention that. RIP Buddyfight also
I'm DEEP into Vanguard myself, have been for the last ten years and after a few days of playing this game I can say I absolutely love it too.
Awww man, that sucks. I didn't realise it had ended. That's a shame. I played Dragoborne for a while as well actually, forgot about that one.
Reminds me of the Yu-Gi-Oh Switch game that's due out soon. Champion's Battle seems to run a bit smoother based on the demo of both games.
Is that the Rush Duel one? If so, yea I agree with you. They do look very similar in style and presentation. I'll definitely play it :)
Thanks for this review man hope you’re doing well wherever you are!
I have this, yugioh, and Vanguard on my switch. And I recommend all three.
Is the online of this games and vanguard still active or is dead? Thanks in advance.
Thanks for the great review!
Mobile player here:
Having a limited set I feel is pretty great vs the 2021 sets.
Unfortunately, I haven't heard anything about adding sets or extra cards at all at this time :(
I say it's good because I play it. It's really fun and I'm looking forward for Shadowverse Evolve, the real life card game coming out in June
Thanks very much for checking out my review, I really appreciate it and I hope you enjoy the game if you decide to pick it up.👍🏻😊
The dlc characters can be earned in the battle passes as well!
So no reason to buy them, they are just online skins anyhow.
Good video love the way you are honest a lot of ppl don't be like that much love and respect bro keep up the good work
Thanks a lot for your kind words. I genuinely appreciate that. I just do my best and I don't like pushing my opinions as facts. I like to give people factual information first and then my opinion afterwards (which people are free to disagree or agree with, I really don't mind). Anyway, thanks for the kind words and for watching my video. 👍🏻😊
@@ConsolesOnlyGaming can't wait for the next video just order this game lol thanks again
This looks like everything I wanted for yugioh. Sure take my money
I also played the fan service game as well. I also played it at christmas, it's a really good game. I might just buy this game some time but Uno is taking my card game time at the moment
Haha, a fellow "man of culture" I see! I got SO addicted to that Senran game haha. Thanks for watching :D
Played a little bit of the original years ago and this looks fun as hell lol.
am playing the demo now...am liking it so far
Good to hear :) you can grind out as many coins and packs as you want from the first set in the demo, so you can have a good head start when/ if you get the full game.
Hello,
Thanks for the review.
How is the gameplay in handheld mode and/or on Switch Lite?
Is the text too small or it can be read just fine?
Hey there, no problem :D I've tested the game on TV, Handheld Mode and on a Switch Lite and I found the text to be easy to read in all cases. If you need glasses to read standard books then you would probably need them here but if you don't wear glasses at all, then you'll probably be fine. I hope that helps :) Thanks for watching!
Most of the cutscene dialogue is voiced along with text boxes, but not for any of the quests or the MC’s thoughts so you’ll have to make sure you pay attention and not have auto forward on.
I'm pretty sure Yu-Gi-Oh and the Dragonball Card Game (SDBH) add cards for free with updates?
I dont have the decks anymore because, you know, the game died and I got out of it, but I still kept my foil SP version of the Durendal sword😊
I currently play Vanguard OverDress myself. I have the physical copy of Dear Days on the way to me from Play Asia lol. I have a few real decks but I recently made a Lyserg deck which is awesome👍🏻. My main game was Yugioh for a long time. I played it since it first released all the way up to a few years ago. I was very into it.
I think I will still enjoy this game without battle pass but how much is the pass?
I REALLY REALLY WISH Ascension and Shards Of Infinity would come to Nintendo Switch :)
Judging from your comments about the battle pass/dlc, I can tell you’ve never played the OG Shadowverse on mobile.
Because if you had, you’d know that the battle pass on mobile is around $20-40 USD (reg or premium boosted) and buying packs with real money can be *quite* costly.
(You can definitely grind currency on mobile but it can be tough and it is easily spent.)
IMO - I wouldn’t consider the paid options as a drawback. Nearly every game on the market has them. They’re inexpensive and optional. 🤷🏻♂️
Especially when compared to its mobile counterpart.
Also I’m subscribing.
Does anyone know of similar tcg/rpgs? Sick of the menu card games
Sadly, I don't think there is many dude. I mean I'm trying to think off the top of my head right now and I got nothing :(
@@ConsolesOnlyGaming damn! Il have to buy this one then. The
Closest i remembered was duel masters on the ps2 but that one used 2D characters and a point and click style.
@@ConsolesOnlyGaming only the 1st 3 sets bruh this game is shit
So excited for this how much is the premium battle pass and do u just buy it once 😀

Its so odd the clash.
Western 90’s fantasy inspired overly detailed cards VS the blandest anime style possible.
Rip to Buddyfight as a dragon world/jack main myself also vanguard is still going very strong but yes I also recommend this game

Dragoborn??!!! Why that seem familiar
Probably because of Skyrim? Its also spelt "Dragoborne" and it was a trading card game made by Bushiroad. I think it only got 4 booster sets and then got cancelled. I really enjoyed it for the short time I played it.
@@ConsolesOnlyGaming nah i heard about the card game ages ago and completely forgotten about it till now
Sooo got the demo.
No Portalcraft? What a bummer.
Can you change your protagonist gender ?
Yes, you can! 😊

question:
can both of the shadowverse games to interact with eachother and in what manner?
like new boxes and pvp?
It doesn’t look like they can. You get a promo code that you can type in to get some bonuses from the mobile game if you buy the one on the switch, but I can’t seem to find where to input it and there doesn’t seem to be any inter connectivity between games.
Yea I think that's literally it. As far as I know, except for a few promo codes, the games are completely separate.

The dissonance between the overworld art style and the card art seems really jarring to me.
You can earn all that in game actually.
I think it is fun.
Yea, I think so too. Just a genuinely enjoyable game. Shame about the battle pass and dlc BUT having said that, its still really good in my opinion :) Thanks for watching!
I gotta wonder why you would play this game over the actual Shadow verse game. It seems very similar and the only difference is the in game storyline.
