- In case you haven't heard, the #turnbasedthursdayfest was held last week (4-8 April), and we are now in the final hours. This celebration of turn-based games was created by the turnbasedthursday team in collaboration with Steam! They've hand-picked over 350 games to be featured, many of which have discounts and demos available.
We love looking ahead to see what great turn-based games are on the horizon, and there's been no shortage of exciting titles to showcase during the event. These are some of my most-anticipated games launching in 2024, many of which are from indie and solo developers! Wishlist them, try the demos, and let me know what you think below-you won't be disappointed.

Archrebel Tactics reminds me of the classic 1980 arcade game, Berzerk.

The top most anticipated games obviously do not come from the number of most wishlisted ones based on Steam database, because some of the games are having either “profile features limited” or “Steam is learning about this game” tags. So do you know why those games have these tags on them?

Where IS Unicon Overlord for PC, goddamn?
The game already came up for most consoles, so it’s not upcoming anymore
Unfortunately devs have no plans for PC port

It's on Ryujinx.
No PC version BUT that's largely because they didn't know it was going to be such a hit. So they might change their minds. I hope so. What I DO know, is that they took a survey (which turned out very well) asking people if they would like a Unicorn Overlord 2 (which would be even bigger and better). Vanillaware usually doesnt mess with sequels, but this was such a hit they are considering making this into an IP franchise. We should all support that aspiration, because I am SURE any future endeavors would grace all consoles AND PC.
And seeing as how they can now repurpose assets, it wouldnt be that long before they could release another. I do hope they put the first one on PC. not because I would buy it ( I already have it on PS5) but because its a masterpiece everyone should have the chance to play.
Now, if only some bright and talented young developer would do a spiritual successor to "Dark Wizard" and OG "Shining Force" came back, all would be right with the world lol!
