Overlord 1 and 2 were absolute legendary games. You can feel the devs passion for the game when you play it, they weren't even close to being as half assed as 80% of games nowadays are.

thisis a childhood classic for me, loved the sequel too. it was so fun watching someone discover it completelly from 0. it may be a $1 dollar game now but it was one of the big ones yeaaaaars ago, like can you imagine someone finding dark souls for $1 in the year 2050?
i mean it was a top tier game in its hayday. So it was probably 50-60 dollars when it dropped during the era of gaming when publishers weren't as money hungry

The first game really feels like more of a tech demo, the second game had so much extra polish and just felt way more complete. We dont go past the second game.
@@MuffinManMLG Honestly, they only affect the set of final spells and default power of speific minions. Other things are cosmetic (cutscenes, tower etc). What I loved about my last playthrough was the higher difficulty level. It really is quite challenging (in the fun way!).
For sure! That's part of the goal for the GOABs is to provide a good deal for a good time, even though I never played this, I could feel the love and charm it had when it first came out, and I'm fortunate to have experienced it :D
Im 26 and overlord was one of the games I got with my 360 for a birthday. Between that, Fable, and Gears of War I barely ever played any others. Just Cause 2 was a great game too

That's a good concept, a good gameplay and a good story. Really shows how even without the tecnology, they used to put some love and a lot of effort on the games back then

Been rockin' the name Overlord1219 for probably 15+ years because of this game. was my first game on 360 and since then i'm always drawn to any game/class that has summoning/commanding/minions/conjuration or anything of the sort lol. also the story and humor in this game was way ahead of its time! great video.
You were actually right at 28:25 you were meant to start beating the guy playing the music on the table and the minions should of been normal after (I've had it happen once were the minions kinda just broke after but that was like once in my like 5 play throughs)
@MuffinManMLG you'll learn. Though, even after almost 200 hours, sometimes controlling the minions is hard though it's way better in the second game from what I remember

My first overlord game Was on the Wii and I really enjoyed it my first game I had where you didn’t play the hero out to save everyone and stop wars you are essentially the villain of the story for the most part doing “good” only because it benefits you and piting your siblings and their allies against each other to begin their own war so you can claim the throne (I think that’s accurate been a looonnnggg time )
Man, Overlord was like one of my childhood games and probably one of my favorite games of all time. I remember watching my brother play it when I was a kid almost right when it was released and being mesmerized. I watched my brother play overlord 1 and overlord 2 and I even remember him waiting for us to finish 2 together. I think a lot of the "edgy" and dark tastes I currently have come from just watching overlord. Now I have in my own steam library all the overlord games and I played it myself and dude, they are wonderful games, very well made, with new and original ideas for the time and with their own unique identity. Watching a video of the original Overlord from just a few days ago has brought back many good memories, sadly they are not such recognized games, they deserved much more. Thank you very much for trying it and giving it a chance, they are truly hidden gems.

Alos fun fact, the first game had a DLC where you attack hell and it was amazing. The second game just shaved off content and sold it separately, and now, for some reason, you can't get it anywhere. So you can't fully upgrade the spells in the second game because the DLC is not being sold on Steam for some reason.
Yeah, the price for this game at full price is just worth every penny tbh. Such a fun series. Only complain i have is the camera, but i still remember loving this game, might have to buy it on steam tbh...

Yeah, I don’t expect to find popular, old games on steam though. Not many companies do the transition but they were kind enough to do so and put it for super cheap

Oh, this is a 'hidden gem' these days, overlord 1 & 2 are dope. I won't acknowledge the existance of that attempted multiplayer overlord slop, even the super limited wii overlord is better than that.
This series is beautiful and I’m glad to finally have the chance to experience it, I was missing out, I’m gonna try all 3 games, including the slop :D

I loved these games back in 2007. It was a unique spin with some really fun humor. Dealings with the halflings was a gas.
