I go to Marmaris every year. I haven't been since 2019 for obvious reasons and i really am missing it. Every time i go i find a new place to explore and enjoy. I got 2 holidays booked for next year so time for more exploring. The locals are very friendly and they remember me every time i visit from previous holidays. Thank you for giving me more ideas on what to do when i go back in June 2022.
Hi my name is Adrian and i love turkey ,marmaras ,side ,icmeler and many more beautiful placec in turkey our last visit holiday was 2005 ,sadley my beautiful sisters jan,passed away which we miss so much ,we had such fantastic times in turkey which we will never forget ,watching this brings back lovley memories thank you for these moments .
More and more I am loving touring through Turkey through your eyes, I so wish I could be there. You make me hungry going through the markets, so glad you take us along, love shopping for food in different countries. Cool cave, I wonder if you can see bats fly out in the evening. Take care you two.
More to come! And I did look up at the ceiling of the cave but could not see any bats .. Chris looked at the floor and saw no bat pooh !! (boys !!) so we are fairly certain they don't live in the cave ... we have seen bats down by the boats though so they must be in a belfry or tower somewhere !! kind regards Marianne
thanks for reminding me about Marmaris of course in Turkey I have been there twice in the last 10 years but the one thing I do reminds me about the marina was all the restaurants and cafes bars and amazing fresh sea food you can't beat it when you've got a beautiful view of the Harbour and also I went scuba diving couple of times when I was there had the time of my life also went sea fishing a couple of times I love to sign you catch it will cook it you eat it I would recommend the area to anybody and also I remember all the statues everywhere and the wall and a big Castle I'm a slow pace around the markets these are the best things in life holidays about what you put into it and what you get out of it something's are free but not everything but it helps you to appreciate life as you get older like me lots of good memories lots of fond memories and lots of nice people xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I got stuck in a lift once in a new building in Wellington New Zealand , the lift malfunctioned and would go up stop go down stop and back up again , ( not too far ), this went on for maybe a minute + , I used the stairs after that ! I am a bit uneasy in closed areas , as are many people , so thought I would share that " lift " experience with you, good video , am really enjoying your time in Turkey, I have a student english learner in Turkey , she is watching your vlogs ( I recommended you to her ), she is enjoying your Turkish vlogs and learning english from you both at same time ! I love your positive attitude , even when things are not so promising ( e,g weather ), the fact you have so many friends in Turkey is due to that, cheers !

Very pleased you enjoyed Marmaris. All the sculptures are quite something, aren’t they? Enjoy your trip to Fethiye which gets pretty mountainous after Dalaman. The mountains are a cycling paradise! Thanks for keeping us with you on your travels.
Glad you went to marmaris .pity you could not go to Icmeller,just out side .ten minute drive.and then on to TURUNC. My paradise.were I have a apartment.truly Paradise. Keep up with the videos .your making every body.feel envious.
Mamaris Bodrum,fethiye are also aprox 90min by ferry to Greek Island of Rhodes before the pandemic. Im so glad I detour to Rhodes for 5 days before going to cappadocia. I paid my hotel owner 50 euro for half day tour around Pamukali, it included an underground hot springs, there were tiny 🐢 swimming. We also stop at an archeological side across the famous Pamukali hill. Another special hot springs only the locals go. The hot springs spill out rust color boiling water at the opening, it cool off as it cascade down. I also got some towels shopping at the local market while my guide went for a prayer break at the mosque 🕌. Despite the old car without AC on 100F day, I m glad I took the trip.
Exactly Chris you nailed it. In Turkey if there’s a warning sign “Do not climb “ basically “DONT” if you do and fall it your own fault. Also you can’t claim compensation ! They will say there’s a sign !!! COMMEN SENSE
The 8 year old cave cheese was really interesting. The octopus sculpture was lovely. Glad your camera spent a few minutes on it. I love art and Turkey seems to have quite a few different sculptures about. I am in love with Turkey because of their kindness to animals. That sign to watch for kittens in the engine touched my heart.
Glad you enjoyed it - yes it has some fascinating art and colourful crafts ... I could fill a house with it !! and yes there is genuine concern for the animals for sure 😻😉🌺

yes yes I do remember Marmaris but when I was there that was 8 years ago it was all down to New redevelopment around the Marina and The Castle I do remember it had lots of amazing food in that area and also I did my padi diving out there and also had an experience in my life I will never forget I took all the size of a kitchen table it was huge also it's a long haul from the airport normally takes about 3 hours but also as per usual you describe things better than me I just describe things as a see things I do remember the restaurant has some brilliant restaurants for seafood I don't know what it's like now drink lots of efes beer and Rakhi would not recommend that to nobody is Lethal I'm very pleased and everything know that you're ok and you have been lucky with the weather the UK is worse than ever it is freezing all the best and all my respect Ricky in the UK xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Marmaris looks so different with no people around as even in the early mornings its still got folk setting up shops workmen etc but there were just no one when u visited . I loved the check engine signs too i allways check around my vehichle . Around the wheels and engine just incase someones snuggled up . Id hate to have caused hurt to a cat etc just beacause i never checked . Ur never in that much of a hurry on holiday to check around ur car etc . I love the way all the local cats come out to visit u guys . Looking for treats . I allways have cat treats in a pocket when in turkey . A friend of mine once said they allways know a soft touch and its so true lol . Cats are gd judges of a person . Marmaris is so beautifull even apart from the tourist stuff . Its lovely . Hope to be back in a couple of years time . Pls take care folks .

Next time in Marmaris, you can try Çınar Restaurant (On the Way to Cleopatra Island) and Halilin Yeri Restaurant (on the main road to Marmaris, opposite of Tashan) for breakfast. They will remind you the breakfast which you had in Kalkan over the mountains
Marianne, yes those caves have been there most likely for millions of years, who knows what lurks within. They are creepy to me too, just looking at the video gives me chills! Nonetheless, it's beautiful there, it appears all of Turkey is beautiful!
I have been to Marmaris. It is a fun and beautiful place, but it will never be the same as Side. I lived there for a brief periode. It is a bit quiter. Of course not so in high season. The best beach is the one of the north side of the town. The town is lots of old houses. So many quit places to find, even in high season. The arcitecture and the history there is just fantastic.
Ive been going to Dalyan for about 15 years and only been to Marmaris for half a day.It wasn’t for me, however your visit showed a different side to it. Didn’t even know there was an old town.

Wow Marmaris is stunning - and it’s December with beautiful weather. Just one thing, in Turkey they celebrate New Year more than Xmas that’s why you won’t see so many decs or Xmas trees yet. And you mention Brits in Marmaris: just go to Ölü Deniz/ Hisarönü in Fethiye - it’s like little UK 😁 - I didn’t like it when we went there in 2010 it changed drastically since 1990 - more hotels and there was a street filled with bars that was never there before - it lost the traditional Turkey. Marmaris is beautiful but come in summer and it will be full of tourists and lose that traditional feel. It IS gorgeous however. Stay safe xxx

The chocolate you ate was with chestnut. It is basically called 'Chestnut candy' and originally it is without choclate. It is a very popular candy in the town of Bursa (close to Istanbul). They also cover it with chocolate (which is my favourite). :D
Tip: be sure to cut the skin layer off the sucuk before slicing (from experience) :) just peel off the skin layer of the amount you're going to use and then slice thinly for toast or slightly thicker if cooking alone or with eggs. It's also nice cooked and then put in a tortilla wrap with salad ,cheese gherkins ketchup and mayonnaise and then folded up and melted in a panini press or simply in a frying pan. Icmeller some times ago was a part of the Marmaris, but now - small independent city. I was in the Icmeller and Marmaris too. Very good two cities.

Usually I am every year in vacation at marmaris. Its one of the best places on earth. But currently its without turists.

Next time in Marmaris, you can try Çınar Restaurant (On the Way to Cleopatra Island) and Halilin Yeri Restaurant (on the main road to Marmaris, opposite of Tashan) for breakfast. They will remind you the breakfast which you had in Kalkan over the mountains
Marianne, yes those caves have been there most likely for millions of years, who knows what lurks within. They are creepy to me too, just looking at the video gives me chills! Nonetheless, it's beautiful there, it appears all of Turkey is beautiful!

I have been to Marmaris. It is a fun and beautiful place, but it will never be the same as Side. I lived there for a brief periode. It is a bit quiter. Of course not so in high season. The best beach is the one of the north side of the town. The town is lots of old houses. So many quit places to find, even in high season. The arcitecture and the history there is just fantastic.
Ive been going to Dalyan for about 15 years and only been to Marmaris for half a day.It wasn’t for me, however your visit showed a different side to it. Didn’t even know there was an old town.

Wow Marmaris is stunning - and it’s December with beautiful weather. Just one thing, in Turkey they celebrate New Year more than Xmas that’s why you won’t see so many decs or Xmas trees yet. And you mention Brits in Marmaris: just go to Ölü Deniz/ Hisarönü in Fethiye - it’s like little UK 😁 - I didn’t like it when we went there in 2010 it changed drastically since 1990 - more hotels and there was a street filled with bars that was never there before - it lost the traditional Turkey. Marmaris is beautiful but come in summer and it will be full of tourists and lose that traditional feel. It IS gorgeous however. Stay safe xxx

The chocolate you ate was with chestnut. It is basically called 'Chestnut candy' and originally it is without choclate. It is a very popular candy in the town of Bursa (close to Istanbul). They also cover it with chocolate (which is my favourite). :D

Good question! We could not smell them ... maybe because it was cold ?? or maybe because the leaves were not squashed ?? M
Tip: be sure to cut the skin layer off the sucuk before slicing (from experience) :) just peel off the skin layer of the amount you're going to use and then slice thinly for toast or slightly thicker if cooking alone or with eggs. It's also nice cooked and then put in a tortilla wrap with salad ,cheese gherkins ketchup and mayonnaise and then folded up and melted in a panini press or simply in a frying pan.
