    The whole "let's ask people from the past to come fight a war in the future" is inherently flawed.

    • @tonyj9743
      @tonyj9743 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +289

      Right! For those in the past, going to the future(the quick way) makes no sense. In all likelihood, we'd just thank the future people for the heads up and then proceed to prevent that future from ever happening.
      Actually, in this world of skeptics and conspiracy theorist, there is no guarantee that a warning by people from the future would even be heeded.

      One thing that struck me as _truly_ stupid is the design of the arm thingy. Specifically, it comes too far up on along your wrist, which means that trying to _bend_ your wrist (by itself, not with your _other_ hand) would be painful. So why would you cause 'your' troops (easily avoidable) pain? Do you want them to be effective or not?!
      Also, for me personally, if they had given me a _choice_ about helping out or not, I would've chosen to help, but if they'd given me _zero choice_ about it, when they sent me into the future, I'd be shooting _them_ instead of the aliens.

      That's not how time works. I've listened to quite a bit of lectures by the top in the field rn. Everything is happening at all times. You already were born, are being born, and are not Born rn. We experience time like a string in the ocean. We only know the PA of the string, but the ocean still exists. Sowhen they go into the future that exists, and die there, any potential kids of those people exist still. How that works is because dimension. Each reality has a set of identical dimensions inside of them. Pockets of reality each universe sits in. We could have up to 20 from what some professionals believe. But essentially time travel would be between these pockets in our reality with the way we perceive them. Bit since we cannot actually comprehend on an intimate level what and how time and reality work at the moment it is simpler to say this. They are two trains (dimensions) running on the same track in the same moment. But they synchronize in a way that stops them from having issues occupying the same space. The parent dying would make it so that don't have a kid in their dimension. But in their reality they can still have that continuity. Which it does exist since the child they will never have due to them dying early is able to watch them die in their dimension. Most paradoxes we face don't actually exist. If I go into the past and tamper, my future will change but it will never be my past. I will have been in my future though I perceive it as the past. Everything is happening all at once. So, how my life turned out will be how it turns out since I existed and did what I did in my past before I was born. That doesn't stop the evens. It's how they are suppose to go. So if someone went back in time to kill Hitler, we wouldn't know.

      You can ask all sorts of questions like this *note that I wrotethis before watching the video,*, which is why I honestly think this may be the stupidest movie ever.
      Anyone who is sent through time still affects events later in the timeline. This means that if he dies after being sent to the future but without being returned to the past, a literal time paradox is caused because it means he changed events time periods in which he did not exist.
      They thought the guys from past could fight in a war because they played video games? Ignoring the fact that not all video games involve guns, and not everyone these days plays video games, shooting in a game is not the same as in real life, where there are a lot more factors to consider. Video games are also a safe activity, whereas in a war, you are in constant danger.
      My father, who was a soldier, had this to say: "if I saw aliens like that, I would shit my pants!" Imagine how the conscripts, most of whom have no combat experience would react to the aliens.
      Most of the time travelers have no combat experience, yet they have no trouble using their guns with no training. It would have been funny, logical and in character for them to ask rookie questions like " which end do I point at the enemies? "Why is my scope not showing the remaining bullets?" "How do I put bullets in the gun?" This would have humanized them and given some logic to an insanely retarded story.
      No one thought to investigate the area in which the aliens first attacked, or thought of covering it with weapons in order to fight them as quickly as possible?
      No one asked how these creatures, which by all appearances were mindless animals, were able to travel through space? No one thought maybe they had a different home?
      Why send the warning through time to an event as public and popular as the Super Bowl? You want to keep this kind of information quiet to avoid a mass panic.

    hey CinemaSins. id like to say, that depsite the "world cup" happening during Xmas time is not likely to ever happen, it is really smart for them to teleport in the middle of the match as football (soccer) is the world most popular sport and is being watched by MOST of the world especially since its the final. SO they are getting the best coverage of the world of any other televised event the world has to offer as far as i can think.

      @@Scuffed_Gambit The surface tension of water isn't what makes it "as hard as cement" on impact, it's its incompressibility. Surface tension isn't some magic property of water that, that once you "break" it, suddenly all the water below becomes miraculously soft springy. It doesn't matter whether it's raining, or whether you throw a hammer at the surface, or whether you blow up a freaking bomb on the surface. If you're moving at a certain speed and you hit water, it still won't have enough time to move away from under you, and since water is not compressible, Newton's Third Law applies here. The water will exert as much force back at you as you're exerting on it, thus feeling like you're hitting a slab of concrete.
      But don't take my word for it. The MythBusters have already experimented on this, and this whole "break the surface tension" myth has been debunked already.
      Humbled enough, or do you need more?

      @dragonheart967 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MatBaconMCquestion, I've seen cliff divers go with large rocks held before them make it just fine, is the rock kind of paving the way by soaking up that impact allowing the diver to enter the space where water is filling up?
      You're explanation was very good, but with what I've seen, there seems to be something that can circumvent the water tension.

    • @MatBaconMC
      @MatBaconMC 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@dragonheart967 The reason fliff jumpers do that isn't really to break any "surface tension". They do that to 1. Gauge the depth of where they're jumping into, 2. To see if there are any obstacles (rocks, for example) they need to look out for where they land, and 3. To agitate the water below, making it easier to see when they're doing twists and flips in mid air, so they can time their landing right.
      It's also good to note, you'll see that cliff divers will try to minimize their surface area as much as possible when they land, by going in as a "point" (toes pointed/arms up and fingers pointed towards the water), straightening up as much as possible. This reduces the pressure, and thus impact from the water on landing, since there's less surface area on impact. Think of it as them "cutting through" the water on landing.
      It seems the fatal height, even with correct technique, for a jump into water is around 200ft, or 61m. 150ft is fatal about 90% of the time. But anything below that can still kill, depending on how you land. Even a drop from as little as 20ft (~6m) can still break bones, give you a concussion, and just overall cause damage. The highest cliff jump ever attempted is 58.5m, or around 191ft. The person who attempted it suffered ligament injuries, and a dislocated hip. You'll also see that for everyone who has attempted a high-altitude dive, usually 20m and above, they all come out of it injured in some way.
