    When you have pain running down your leg and it’s almost inescapable, there’s a good chance it’s a disc bulge. Just to be perfectly clear, almost everyone on the planet has had some type of lumbar disc bulge.

    A bulging disc generally shows up like this:
    1. Deep aching pain that runs down the leg.
    2. Tingling and numbness along the glute and leg.
    3. Weakness in movement that used to feel strong.
    Yeah exactly, a herniated disc (bulge) has all the allure multiple root canals.

    The disc is designed as a series of concentric rings with a jelly center (nucleus pulposis). What happens is that the disc pushes posterolateral into the same hole that the nerve root exits from (IVF) and throws a choke on the nerve.

    Now wherever that nerve goes has to deal with the repercussions. The paraspinals spasm, the iliopsoas locks the spine and your pelvis shifts laterally towards the painful side to force you to lean to the opposite side.

    The lumbopelvic Hip Complex gets loaded with rotational and translational shear which just fuels the compromised disc.
    In order to get out of this train wreck, three things need to happen:
    1. The disc itself needs to draw in the bulge.
    2. The erector spinae muscles have to be dampened.
    3. The pelvis needs to reset to a neutral position.
    Here’s how to do it:

    3️⃣ Lateral Med Ball Hold
    4️⃣ Supine Figure Four
    5️⃣ Sphinx Hold
