Thanks for the shoutout buddy! Maybe it is cool to meet your heroes
As someone who has met Brad 4x myself, I second this! You’re both amazing!
Dude you and me both have found out it is cool to meet your heroes!
@@thezakkuhnshow indeed it is!
By far the BEST Paisley interview. A total goldmine for guitar and songwriting. We need That’s Love and Long Sermon back in the sets here!
Thank you so much! That means a ton!
Just found your site. Really don’t know of you, sorry. Wow! Amazingly good content, engaging and fun. I will be the first to say, “a million followers site” soon to be. Thank you so much! And remember me when you hit it! Many blessings Ps. Brown
Brad’s great. Seems like a cool dude and is definitely a fantastic player. I love that he loves the guitar so much! Hard to overstate how talented he really is…. It’s pretty rare.
Couldn't agree more!
You have all these celebrities, great audio, camera angles, lighting, and personal talent in interview skills and guitar, yet only 1,500 subscribers??! Why has TH-cam shadowbanned you? And how did you get Brad Paisley to hear of you? I hope your channel succeeds, you deserve millions of views :)
Thanks for watching friend and for the kind note! Spread the word! Lol. Just trying to do the best work I can. I hope people find the content and dig it!
Great Interview! I had Time Well Wasted for a year before I listened to it. Blew me away, bought every Brad Paisley album right away. Became a country guitar play due to Brad. I've got a YT video of me learning and teaching "I'll Take You Back" the first BP riff I learned in 2012. Big fan of Hayden Baker too.
Dude that’s awesome! I think he turned a lot of of people onto country Guitar playing! Myself included. Who are some of your other influences?
@@thezakkuhnshow I grew up listening to Roy Clark, Jerry Reed, Glen Campbell, Buck Owens in the 1960/70's. I'm really into Waylon Jennings, Wayne Mos, Reggie Young, Buck Owens, Don Rich, Pete Anderson, James Burton...
The best interview I've heard from Brad, arguably ever. You learn so much about him, his playing and writing and you can see the wheels in his brain start to work when he's figuring out an unfamiliar or older lick. He's still got it!
God bless
Thanks so much for watching and for the kind note brother! This one was a blast!
Thank you so much for doing this! Ive seen interview after interview, and no one ever gets into the specifics of his playing. I always wanted to get myself into a position where I could pick his brain. Your questions were awesome!
That thing he mentioned about sliding up to the note makes so much sense!
One thing I've noticed about him is that he always has unique target notes (Saturday Night is a perfect example) and ive always wondered what his thought process was.
If you do get to hang out again, I'd be curious to know if he's just mostly staying within the key and then just "lands rhe plane" near the end of the solos to resolve, or if he even thinks like that.
Anyway enough rambling from me. Great video and great channel!
Hey, the lamp in the background,,,,, " That's a Major Award " ! LOL,,,,,, ( Fra-----GEE-------LEEEEE ) LOL
Ha! You know!
5:28 what song is that ?
“She Don’t Love Nobody” by The Desert Rose Band
@@thezakkuhnshow thanks
I’ve been waiting for this interview for years! Thank you both for taking the time to make this happen. I’ve been a fan since the first album and love to hear Brad and company live. My personal favorite album “Time Well Wasted”.
Amazing! Thanks so much for watching! So glad you found it!
This is one of the best interviews I have watched .. maybe ever? Zak you nailed this! All the room to let a person speak and the knowledge to support it!
That means a lot! Thanks so much for the kind note. Pumped you found this interview!
I never realize that Brad Paisley was such a great guitar player until I went to his concert. I mean, I would hear the guitar and stuff on on his CDs and stuff, but until I actually saw him doing his thing on the guitar, I did not know he was doing that. He’s amazing on the guitar and I truly am a big fan. I can’t play anything but the radio, but I recognize talent when I hear it and see it. I’ve been trying to get to Brad’s fan page because I would actually like to maybe chat with himinstead of all these people pretend to be him. Awesome interview.
Thanks for watching friend! He’s an incredible player. Glad you came around!
Really enjoyed watching this interview, so many things flood my mind watching Brad talk about all the old songs I grew up listening to, I was 8 when part 2 came out and I instantly fell in love with brads style, he was and still is so unique, and from that point on I wore cd players out listening and trying to figure licks out long before we had TH-cam 😂 driving my parents crazy at 10:00 at night trying to figure out what he was doing, which 20+ years later and I still haven’t! 😂 Brad started me on the path of guitar, thank you!
Dude that’s awesome! So pumped you got to check this clip out. Thanks for watching!
"where does the robben ford influence come in..." - flips to bridge pickup
Ha! Gotta love it right??
When Zak reaches for Brad's phone and Brad subtly indicates that's not happening.....hahaha
Honestly that is a funny moment! 😂
Brad campaigned for Obama, (just like Garth Brooks did), when he wasn't playing with the Dixie Chicks. Yeech
This is why we all love him!
Absolutely killer interview with Brad...I enjoyed every minute of it.
Thank you so much!
He and John 5 could make a killer duet guitar album like Chester and Lester, both die hard Tele players, both meet at Country but have different Rock sensibilities amd are great players. That would be such a fresh take on thise kind of album from back when.
That would be an amazing record! I would listen!
Do I smell a signature Brad BLUE Paisley in the works...???
👀👀
I can’t wait to find out how I can “experience” that guitar!
👀
Hands down the most interesting and engaging interview there’s been with Brad! When he’s talking about his Paisley 68 Tele, what does he mean when he said we’re working on a way for everyone to be able to experience this? I know there’s a 68 custom shop Tele Fender do for like 3K, but is there something else in the works between him and Fender?
Stay tuned!! Also thanks for watching brother!
Zak didn’t get the Christmas Story Leg Lamp reference…he had no clue.
😂 i’m dead
That was great. Thanks for doing that interview (and for doing it so well)!
Thanks so much for watching and for the kind note! I’m pumped you found it!
That may be a Buckaroo thing but The Beatles copped it first on I Feel Fine
That’s so true!
Please get Redd Volkaert! Like Brad a virtuoso storyteller as well as guitarist
Let’s see what we can do!!!
Awesome, I just stumbled on this, love Brad, one of the best country guitar players if not THE best. This is pure gold .
Thanks for watching friend! So pumped you got to check it out! Who should I get on the show next?
@@thezakkuhnshow anybody you like, you do a fantastic job, I'm shocked you don't have many many more subscribers, I think you will soon
Hey man, ask Brad to holler at me. Trying to get him on a track. Thanks!
🎸
Some Mistakes is one of my all time favorite deep cuts. I continue to be baffled that it never got more love.
Ohh I freekin love that song! Great playing all around on it
Dude. This song is SOOOOO good.
And as Always..... Brad is the man !!!
The man!!!!
This deserves more views
You are kind! Thank you!
We need one with Keith Urban!!!
Let’s see what we can do 👀
Congrats!!
🙌🙌 Thanks brother!
Wow, what a great interview!!...I've been a rock, blues and metal guitarist for over 47 years, but I've come to learn about and love so many great country players through you!!...Keep up the great work!..
Thanks so much for watching brother and for the kind note! I’m pumped you found this!
Omg I can't believe it took me until almost the halfway point before I noticed the major award! LOL!
Ha! Better late than never!
More stories with Brad! Ask his best and worst shows
Great interview!!! I've had a love for Paisley guitars since i was a young kid ( Thanks James Burton lol) and i never knew Fender done prototypes with different colors! So so cool!!!!! Aaannd, now i want a Harmony 415, ugh. Thanks for this! New sub here bud! Keep up the great work
Thanks for watching and for the kind note. Pumped you found this video! Let me know if you grab the Harmony! It’s a killer amp!
Not that my opinion matters but, I totally agree about Ben, I absolutely love the way he plays, he is an incredible drummer the only other drummer that I like as much as Ben is Kenny Aronoff.
Hard to argue with Kenny! Ben is such a beast as well! All great players!
Oh dude!!!! I have been trying to learn the That's Love lick my whole life!!!!
Ha! Ya??? Glad i’m not the only one! Did this clip help??
I would love to see a video where Brad goes in depth on the tale of how the Blue Unicorn Paisley was found and acquired ❤
LONG FORM. We have the attention span. 💙
If I get him on the show again will try to go even deeper
This is the best Brad Paisley interview because YOU knew as much as the biggest fans do! I’m so tired of people bringing him on who know nothing about him and the back catalog. I’ve never seen him talk about “No” before. Truly truly outstanding.
Dude! Thanks so much for the kind comment! Pumped you found this interview! “No” is one of my faves! It’s crazy how many good songs are in Brad’s catalog!
Great interview! Brad paisley has been one of my favorites for like 20 years!! Really enjoyed this!
Would love to see interviews with these artists if that’s even possible- Alan Jackson, seirra Ferrell, Steve Earle, Vince gill, Jack white, sturgil Simpson, Lukas Nelson, Emily nenni and bob weir….
Some great names here! Stay tuned! I’m chasing some of those names down right now!
awesome !!!!!!!
Thanks for watching!!!!
Being a Bakersfield area native and worked at The Crystal Palace through college, this makes me so proud to be from there. Brad has always been such a support of Buck, Jerry, and The Crystal Palace. He's the MAN! I'm still chasing his guitar tone after a decade 🙃
Same here! And that’s so cool that you worked there! I bet you have some crazy stories!
Zak! Awesome interview! You literally lived my dream haha. You asked Brad some of the exact questions I would like to ask him, so thank you for the good questions. Now all I got to do is rewatch some parts to pick up some of these licks!
Dude thanks so much for watching! This was a crazy day! I’ve been rewinding myself to pull specific licks out! 🤣 Let me know how it goes for you!
What a great conversation, I really enjoyed it! You did an awesome job, but I have to ask, who are you and how did you get to interview Brad Paisley with only 663 subs?
I’m Zak Kuhn! 🙃 Thanks for watching friend!
Brad is THE MAN. I think Time Well Wasted is also a song that is super underrated. This was a cool interview! I’m gonna need him to drop the new album soon. Lol
Love that song! Thanks for watching friend!
@1:23:42 sounds like the I Feel Fine intro. Maybe Buck should have sued The Beatles.. 😂😂
Ha! That would have been fun to see 😉
I love Brad's aesthetic sensibility with guitar design, tone, and virtuosic execution. Excellent taste ❤
He’s the best to ever do it! Who else is high on your list??
Brother, my first record when I got a guitar was mud on the tires thanks for asking him so many of the questions I’ve had for 20 years haha. The chromatic line on that’s love
So good right?? That was an awesome moment. Thanks so much for the note friend! 🤘🤘🤘
This is AWESOME!! Seriously, this is like a dream interview for a Brad fanatic like me. Thank you!
Thank you so much!! This made my day!
How is your channel under 1000 subs with all these great interviews?. Just goes to show algorithms are stupid. Brad is a legend on guitar.. Subscribing now
Thanks for watching and for the subscribe brother!
Fantastic interview! “Somebody Knows You Now” is one of my favorite deep tracks. ❤
Love that song! Thanks for the kind note
This was the coolest interview. I’ve seen in a very long time. I often find myself fast forwarding through long interviews. But not this one I loved every second.
Thanks so much for the kind words friend! Who should we get on the show next?
He almost did the Ticks intro correctly, he may need to look up free tabs to perfect it. He should ask the composer.
Ha! So close right? 😂
When Brad Paisley says :"im losing a step" that hits you because with his skill level and talent you dont want him to ever lose what he does.
So true! But he’s still got it! I’m not too worries about it! 😀 Thanks for watching!
How cool is it to ask Brad about a random lick he played and he's so interested and excited he pulls it up on his phone to hear what it was?!
Ha! That was an amazing moment! Thanks so much for watching brother!
I'm sooooo dying to see Brad Paisley 1 time live!!!! Thanks for this, all the bass-t from kayo
If you get the chance you need to make jt to a show! Know one does it like Brad!
22:45 😂😂😂 I’m dying. I’ve backed that up six times.
Next time we’ll go even deeper. Just for the fans!
This was excellent man. I have so many new screen recordings to go back to reference and never be able to play lmao
Ha! Same here brother! Been working on licks from this video ever since we shot it! 😂
Man, such a great interview and hang; thanks to BP for being BP.
Thanks to you for watching brother!
Catch All The Fish was on American Saturday Night
Ha! I realised we had it wrong after the interview 🤦🏻♂️
I knew this was going to be a great interview when the interviewer was handed the guitar and he really knew how to play. ❤🤘
My man! Thanks for watching brother! 🤘🙌

Just an exceptional session with relaxed but smart questions and deep-cut answers. Thanks Zak.

Great interview

Awesome!
Thanks!
Peak Paisley tone was Mud on the Tires. It’s gotten worse and worse every album since. I was the biggest Paisley fan in the world forever. I can’t even listen to him now. The recordings are so compressed with so much shit going on it gives me a headache after 2 songs. Wish he’d go back to basics with Frank Rogers producing another who needs pictures style album.
But he keeps making more and more money. Must be doing something right
@@Ottophil LOL. Making more money and making good music are not correlating factors these days. Almost the inverse.
The tone has definitely evolved over the years, but I think it’s still sounds pretty miraculous. To my ears it’s gotten fatter over tine
@@thezakkuhnshow it’s gotten dirtier for sure. The intro to famous people is perfection. Super fat without being too dirty but not as thin as some of the tracks on who needs pictures seemed to be. It was still ok up through the Play album and even into this is country music. But to be fair it’s not just his guitar tone but the overall recordings being way too compressed and got way too much going on at one time. But that could be said about most country music these days. Could be because everything’s done in the box these days. Maybe they should go back to tracking on tape.
He’s great. But sometimes he’s teetering toward Garth Brooks creepy AF land.
Ha! You think? I can tell you he’s the man!
He STILL won't play Mr. Policeman! He doesn't need to work on new stuff. He's got bigger fish to fry with learning some of his old songs again.
Love that song! Would be awesome to see it in the set!
