I have the same problem yesterday, And it was one of those MOSFETs.... Am glad it works after replacing the MOSFET, thanks so much for your work I really learn a lot from your videos... Looking forward for more
Interesting, I have seen the same fault on a few. Your style is a very calm way of teaching us and keep it up. Perhaps it would be useful to mention the amount of current injected.
Thanks! I have seen quite a few shorted ceramic caps on PS5s. I thought I did mention what I was injecting. I did not show my power supply though. It was just 1V with current limiting at max for my power supply which is 3.2A.
Wow, there are a lot of bad caps on these PS5's. If a manufacture can save 1/2 cent on millions of them, it makes economic sense. Especially if the warranty is only a year. Then you get some bad manufactures of the components themselves. Great Repair and Video! Educational for sure. Thank you. 😀
Great man. Sorry for this question do u think these days entering this major can make enough money for rent and expenses in your daily life or find another this ?
I think you can make a living repairing electronics. Maybe not repairing game consoles but electronics in general. Industrial electronics could be a good career. Repairing electronics that are used to make money for a company would be good.
I just use the same Siglent bench supply that I use to power boards with. I just adjust the current limiting up to maximum. It will deliver 3.2A which is usually enough for me to find a short.
@@ToltecMerchave you done a video with your background. Just curious as your confidence and knowledge puts you in the top tier of TH-cam repairers, in terms of capability.👏

My apologies and I do not know how I missed that. Thank you for your trouble to reply.
The T3000 wanna run away from APU already! haha
those 22uF cap next to the USB power switch IC is quite common to fail on EDM-010 board.
Thanks for the info! This is the first one I've seen. I will keep that in mind.

Thank you for the video. Could you give an advice regarding liquid metal? Which is the best method for removing it? Thank you.
For larger blobs, tweezers can work. Cleanup with a cotton swab with a little alcohol on it.
Thanks for the new video!
You are welcome! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Excellent video and repair. What is your voltage injection tool. Is it a short klear tool ?

Great fix as usual 👍
Thanks so much! I'm glad you liked it.

Thank You!
I think north ridge fix sells a nice voltage injection tool if you want to check that out. May be more convenient than wiring it.
A good power supply is enough, dedicated short testers are a waste of money.

I get by with my bench supply. A few amps is all I need to find the short usually.
