My opinion is so sad when the history of a black queen has been hidden and disregarded importance of young black, women’s, and women’s of color biracial women’s to know the history of another sister struggle and know anything is possible thank you Sylvia you made me proud to be a woman my opinion❤❤❤
Where is this Sista movie? Her documentary should be everywhere. I wish society was stopped. Denying people of color history to be spoken or shown. This is what make the next generation stronger knowing their history and a challenge that it takes, but anything is possible my opinion.❤❤❤
She's the Mother of Hip Hop....not a Godmother.....she produced the first rap song ever!! The Sugarhill Gang were working 9 to 5 jobs in pizza shops. Mothers produce ....not Godmothers..

She was NOT the "creator of Hip-Hop ". She NEVER claimed that. Mrs. Robinson was the visionary who saw the commercial potential of Hip-Hop. When the true pioneers turned down her offer to record on her label, she formed the Sugar Hill Gang.
@user-ce8se4zs3j Naw, y'all stoll lose. This broad ain't the mother of Hip Hop 🤣. She's just another tether who assimilated, participated, and contributed to Black American culture. Her record label was even named after an historical Black American neighborhood, SUGAR HILL🤭

WELL if u want to watch a video that shows over n over n over again of the same 5 second videos and pics of this woman this video is for u.. 30min of sum1 talking the entire time it shouldn't b 30min.
I grew up next door to Sylvia. Across the street the Isley Brothers grew up and 3 houses down was the manager of the Drifters. 4 miles from New York City in a middle class neighborhood. The Robinsons moved up to the rich part of town, but didn't like it and moved back to their old house. . Last time I was there I stopped in by chance to the pizza shop where one of the Sugar Hill stars had worked, they had a little article on the wall. My mom became Mayor when I went off to college. John Travolta went to High School with me, Brook Shields lived in town, Eddie Murphy lived there for a while, with Alicia Keys buying his house. Dizzy Gillespie lived in town and played at my Moms inauguration. Up the street the guy who drew Spy for Spy for Mad Magazine and Little Annie Fanny for Playboy lived, they gave away Mad magazines at Halloween. Englewood was a great place to grow up. I had no idea at the time when I was 9 or so, but Jimmy Hendriks before he got famous, lived with the Eisley Brothers. I used to stay up at night and listen to them practice across the street and mowed their lawn as a kid.
smh she is not the creator of hip hop she capitalized on the then fad called rap. It was guys doing it way before she came along. I'll give her props far as sugar hill, even tho big bank hank stole his rhymes. But this is just a way to empower women and belittle so called black men. True Creator yeah right
1stvof All, it Wasn't Sylvia who started Sugarhill Records, it was her husband Joe Robinson, he was NO JOKE, he had Mob Ties and was a Strait Gangster. She was his Wife so he allowed her to Run Part of it. THATS how it Went.

The first rap song ever? There are so many examples of that you can't just narrow it down to just one song.

But can she act? You can have the look all day but can you actually act.
