The most important thing you didn't mention is Ananda also took promise from Lord Buddha that He will never give any teaching without his presence. That's why once when Buddha was requested to teach āryasitātapatrāparājitāsādhan in certain heaven (not sure which one), he taught it from the crown of His head because Ananda was not present at that time. Because of that, the sutra is called the sutra that Buddha taught from the crown of His head.
Edit : OK, this story I heard from my late father, so if there's some mistake, I apologize to Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. My late father used to read the sutra regularly, so he told me the story. I believe it's true because of the name. The name's translation to English is like this : The sutra of Godess with white parasol taught from the crown of Tathagata. People can google SITATAPATRA.
