    I forgot about that type of honey. A jar of it always sat on my grandma’s breakfast table. So good on a slice of her homemade bread.
    Happy that your gratitude is dedicated to Aaron. Life is so much easier with a good man’s arm to hold onto and to wrap up securely in his arms.
    Until our next visit….❤Momma G

    First aid tip: raw honey on a wound instead of Neosporin may work better. I had a cut that should have been stitched and started to get infected. I remembered hearing about raw honey and put it on instead of Neosporin like I had been doing. Half a day later and no more signs of infection and started to rapidly heal! Our Veterinarian said they use it too when I told her I put some on our dogs stitches to help heal!

    I wanted to get some maple syrup in a gallon container from azure but the price was insane. Some of their items are crazy expensive and others aren’t bad. I buy a lot of stuff from our restaurant supply chain store. I just bought 50 lbs of onions from there yesterday for $14. Have you thought about using a mixture of half water and half vinegar ? It’s great for disinfecting counter tops bathrooms and even floors! You should try it! Doesn’t smell bad at all if you mix it 50/50. Also use it in your washing machine as it removes any smells (urine, mold, oil etc) from any clothes as well as dishwasher as rinse aid. I love vinegar !

    • @hannahkayee831
      @hannahkayee831 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use vinegar for everything too! Works amazing. I buy a gallon of maple syrup locally for $32 (Minnesota) we have a gas station here that sells onions, potatoes and bananas for $0.39lb. & I see on azure they are over $1.29-2.49lb

    • @modernhomesteadalaska
      @modernhomesteadalaska  ปีที่แล้ว

      I love vinegar too. It’s my go to. The smell goes away after it drys, we had a heck of a time getting it up here last year at a reasonable price. Hoping Costco manages to keep it in stock so I can get plenty next month or after. I was holding onto what I managed to get.

    • @jenniferr2057
      @jenniferr2057 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@modernhomesteadalaska that's a dilemma? Can you use homemade vinegar instead? I made vinegar last year and use it in everything.
      I mix a squirt of dish soap in water and use it in a spray bottle for my all purpose cleaner. It works great! My last trip through the kitchen at night I mist vinegar and vodka over the surfaces as a disinfectant. Have done this for decades.

    • @onemoredoll5791
      @onemoredoll5791 ปีที่แล้ว

      True. Some of their items are way way more than even Amazon but many items are much cheaper. Been shopping Azure for 2 decades. Never purchased vinegar from Azure. Will try vinegar in my wash machine

    We have a similar sort of honey in the UK, it's called set honey here. In supermarkets you're less likely to find raw versions, but most places have small local sellers that produce it. It's one of my all time favourite products. I love a honey sandwich. It's also super tasty with some vintage ("sharp") cheddar and a tart apple

    Great video Jessica. I love starting my day with you. Have a wonderful day. So I am curious about the honey from Manitoba….does it say it’s creamed or has it just started to crystallize. Crystallized honey is my favourite. I keep bees and feel so blessed to be able to supply ourselves with honey and beeswax. To today, saying that…..I am blessed knowing my bees made it theu a tough winter. Thanks again friend. 🇨🇦🌷

    • @modernhomesteadalaska
      @modernhomesteadalaska  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So they say, it is not either creamed or crystal, it comes from the bees that way. Making it a very unique distinction in the honey. They call it creamy but they didn’t whip it to make it that way.
      And congratulations on the bees! That’s huge!

    • @modernhomesteadalaska
      @modernhomesteadalaska  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s based on weight. Not how much you spend. So I’ll share that this order was $108 addition shipping paid to my drop coordinator.FYI no one told me the person pays personal gas and time to go pick up the order in anchorage. So giving them a few bucks for gas they spent is just nice and helpful.
      But when you pick a drop location on the azure site you are given the persons contact information. Reach out to them as they might be different from mine they will give you any additional charges or things that go into it for your specific location. Hope that helps!
