  • Ep. 372
Dr. Jordan B. Peterson discusses the new film “Sound of Freedom,” with star Jim Caviezel and real life inspiration Tim Ballard. The film details Ballard’s work as a Special Agent to fight against sex trafficking and the child sex trade. They go into depth on the psychology of pedophilia, the nature of good and evil, and how a steady faith in God has guided all three.
Tim Ballard is the founder and CEO of Operation Underground Railroad (O.U.R.), which locates and rescues endangered children victimized by sex trafficking rings. Previously, he accrued a decade of experience as a Special Agent in the Dept. of Homeland Security, working as an undercover op for the U.S. Child Sex Tourism Jump Team.
Jim Caviezel is a prominent American actor and household name in no small part for his portrayal of Jesus Christ in “The Passion of the Christ,” (sequel coming in 2024). He has had a decades long career both on and off screen, and is an advocate for faith in the modern world.
Dr. Peterson's extensive catalog is available now on DailyWire+: bit.ly/3KrWbS8

I am a child abuse and neglect attorney and after 17 years of practice I must admit to have lost count of the amount children whom I represented. Some were trafficked, raped or tortured, bought or sold. Others were neglected or made to work instead of going to school to pay off the debt they incurred getting here. Who ever says child trafficking is not real is ignorant or dishonest.

As a victim of trafficking I have spoken out my whole life and in my experience, the vast majority of people don’t want to know or have their world view challenged as this information challenges your ability to feel safe, to feel like you can protect your children, that you can trust law makers, enforcers ect. People don’t want to accept corruption is rampant and the trafficking is at the highest levels of government the world over!

As a former probation officer, handling sex offenders, this movie took me back to those days. The pain, anger & disgust I saw in his face was so familiar. Looking across a desk at someone, knowing what they’ve done, you have to remain emotionless. It takes a toil knowing you can’t help the victims.

I'm 70 and 65 years ago I was kidnapped and sexually abused. The impact effected me for many years to the point where I could not sleep without the reoccurring dreams and not understanding why I was having those dreams, up until the age of 49 and finally sitting down with my mom and discussing the dream. She explained that what I was dreaming actually happened and which explained part of the dream of her and the police fighting to get me back from the abductor. Only then did it clear up my subconscious and eradicate the dreams. I can only have total compassion for the millions of kids who never make it back home and the nightmares. I began “acting out” as they called it, and I was committed to a youth psych ward for 3 months. No answers were ever given, though the medical staff suggested it must be a problem in the home so they advised my parents to separate. THANK GOD my dad refused, they brought me home and tried to do the best they could with the tools they had at the time. No one spoke of sexual abuse in the 70s. My dad never knew. My baby sister was a victim of trafficking after our mother died. She was sold for five years, videoed, photographed and degraded in so many ways. She was 4-9 when this happened. She is 25 now and has never had any kind of consensual physical relationship. She is so destroyed. She just tried again to end her own life two days ago. This issue happens here all the time, I am relieved to see good men like this stand up for these kids. I am so sad for not only my sister but all of these other children everywhere who are left so broken and disfigured by these crimes. I cannot say thank you enough to everyone involved in this. It is a very dark subject that people want to look away from, but we cannot. This is a step in the right direction to ending the horror for these babies. Prayers for you good men, thank you for being a light in the dark. Prayers to all the survivors, may you find peace and healing.

I will say this…. In foster care, me and my brother were taken to a greedy woman who used the states paycheck for her 2 kids to take out while we were kept home to clean their disgusting home. She would make phone calls to someone, saying “I have two new kids” and things like that as we had just moved in and were getting checked into the middle school. One night of these conversations was different and my social worker I called (as a 10 year old) said she was very busy and she could come by tomorrow morning or later that evening, but something told me in my spirit that it had to be right then since the family was out at red lobster. We were alone there. She came and saw the disgusting home, filed a form for change of guardianship to my grandmother, and we were taken that day. Seeing things now as they are being reported, I have a feeling we would not have been coming back from school one of those days at the rate she was talking to said person on her phone (foster mom). She even threatened to hurt me prior to me making that call, as they were leaving, saying I had better not speak to my social worker or mention anything about the drugs her kids were doing.
I have seen an influx of police officers, adult men, going on gay dating apps. Uploading photos of underage boys, marking the profile as -18 years old- then changing their age to underage mid conversation with these adult men. Luring them into sexual conversation and entrapping them. A good friend of mine, actually had a police officer go on Grindr, accepted the terms of service to create this account saying u must be 18 or over to join. Committed a crime uploading images of a minor posing as 18. The entrapped a gay man who would have never even bothered to look for someone like that, underage. After already speaking sexually to this adult, before changing the topic. Brought my friend and intimidated him to admitting guilt of enticing a minor of things he didn’t do, before he got to talk to lawyer, and now he has a sex offender charge for a person that DOESNT EVEN EXIST and he would never have done so if that cop had preyed and mischievously did what he did. Not only thing, when I was outraged from this occurrence I was so pissed. I changed my Grindr profile to state that the local county police department is under investigation for entrapping lgbt members and soliciting illegal activity. For the job I had at that time, I drove between multiple cities for this job and I know exactly where cops would park for tickets. After my profile changed with this text, I wanted to instill fear in this illegal practice to let them know it is not okay, even though there was nothing I knew of, saying they would under investigation…. I had a minimum….. of 8-9 additional cops, periodically through my entire drive path and back. Some even tailgated me, I could tell driving to get me to drive erratic or speed, some reason to pull me over. But I was used to driving government vehicles in a prior job…. Very well and carefully. And the cops would get upset after awhile, signal to go in passing lane and literally gun it and speed off, to do a u-turn at the next intersection and drove off. This continued for a full 2 weeks, and the day I decided it was enough when a random vehicle followed me to my home after I left work. I decided to delete my Grindr profile and quit that job, and never saw those cops ever again.
This goes to beg another question, besides that entire situation. Why do these cops HAVE underage photos of minors, ON THEIR CELL PHONE, and are luring men into this behavior. This very act doesn’t prevent child sex exploitation, it is creating predators. Because once they have this legal term stamped to their head. They cannot get jobs, they turn to drugs once they get out of jail / prison. Or if on probation their probation is so strict, and so inhumane. They have no access to any social media, no cell phone, no tv, no movies, no internet. Just a flip phone. So they are forced…. To only have their thoughts, and these restrictions, reinforcing the very bad behavior they are being accused of. This is insane.

@@KleinSchalker People aren't against stopping child trafficking. People are against people who lie about child trafficking to come off as a hero. Tim Ballard is a proven liar who fabricated quite a few of his stories, per others who were with him. His organization covered a lot of it up, or tried to. Most of the kids that were rescued were given no aftercare and were released just a week after with no safety nets in place and no way to keep them out of harms way. They were used. Several Christian anti-trafficking organizations have spoken out against this film now because of the way it fabricates how these rescues go and how it glosses over the actual work. A majority of it just isn't the reality of the jobs they do. The cherry on top of this awful cake is the fact that the movie doesn't even provide resources nor ways to get involved or donate...just a QR code so you can purchase more tickets to the movie. So they can make more money. It's a glorified action film that isn't based in reality. THAT is why people are upset over it.

It makes sense to what you all are saying here. I'm an American man and I've been a christian for 33 years of 52 years of my life living in Rio De Janeiro. Since 2011, my Lord has sent me out in the streets, favelas, and even City of God where many of these places are dark and dangerous to go there. My Lord has given me the boldness to walk this dirt road, I call it. Only God could give me the strength and courage to leave my comfort zone and share the Gospel and then go to City of God to teach the children about God and a little English. I've had my discouragement times and depression, but you gentlemen have reminded me again of why I go out and the sacrifices that were made to go and let go of my life. To die to self. I've had to give up living a better life in the U.S. to live here. I've met some wonderful people and children since I've been here. It is a blessing. I'm only sowing the seed for our Lord as a messenger, though. I'm not asking for a pat on the back or a reward. The credit belongs to my LORD only. He is my reward. Oh, my heart-aches to know how much evil is being done in this world and especially against the children and the babies being aborted and abused. God bless you all for sharing this!

Human trafficking is mentioned as one of the features of the great city/harlot/mystery Babylon ruling over the kings and great merchants, ie, billionaires, of the earth (the great city is identified in Rev 11.8, 17.5,18; Rev 18.24, Mat 23.37) in Rev 18.13 where the Greek term "psuche" (literally "soul") would refer to human lives according to the immediate context with "soma" ("bodies," usually translated "slaves") in the list of commodities which shows it’s talking about human trafficking.

This is an incredibly powerful inteview! Thank you all for this. I have huge respect for all three of you gentlemen! Thank you for sharing your insights and beliefs and feelings in this interview. The sick underworld of trafficking and sexual perversion being exposed is not an easy endeavour as you have all communicated during this interview. There is a huge amount of resistance from clandestine areas of society that revel in the dark and are supportive of legislation that promotes these obscene practices being acceptable. They are absolutely unacceptable! Thank you to you all and to the many people who are actively working to bring this to light and to bring an end to these horrific actions and situations in the trafficking and sexual perversion rings. I drew a great deal from your inspiration, and passion and from the deeper insights in sharing some examples of situations you had each experienced. And for the way you unpacked the psychology and thought processes that led to each of you making certain decisions when faced with difficult challenges and choices at those specific times. The questions asked were authentic, practical, morally grounded and thought-provoking. What also stood out for me was the depth of understanding of the human psyche expressed and shared using specific examples in actually confronting evil. The idea that we all are presented with challenging circumstances (some perhaps where more evil is confronted than others) that are opportunities to choose between a seemingly easier path for short-term gain that is unaligned with integrity that often ends up being empty and a path that is seemingly more difficult and harrowing that is aligned with integrity and ends up with greater strength and depth of character over time, really resonated for me personally. Thank you for sharing the outcomes of certain decisions; relationship dynamics and your faith in benevolence, truth and ultimate creative consciousness. May we all do better at embracing the light we each are and have access to, and create environments that are worthy of our highest visions of truth, beauty, integrity strength and benevolence despite whatever darkness may be presented overcome especially in confronting and getting rid of all components that make it possible for this underworld activities to continue. Further, thank you for further testimonies and encouragement to stand with integrity for what we believe is right and aligned with Light and Truth no matter the difficulty or evil / darkness that we are faced with.

My hats off to these men for bringing these horrors into the sunlight. This is such a problem inside the US. Many of the kids are completely forgotten with no one to advocate for them. So often they grow up to enter the criminal justice route.
I've interviewed hundreds of these kids and 99% have one thing in common: parents abused drugs and little to no family structure.
Imagine an American resurgence of the nuclear family. I can't help but believe it would alleviate so many of our societal ills.

@@so-shuseitzler8403 it's very sad. Denial is an emotionally childish way of dealing with that which is self-evident. Schopenhauer argued truth goes through 3 stages, I argue four: first it is ignored, then it is mocked, then it is attacked and finally it is accepted as self-evident. Schopenhauer missed out ignored. We see the mainstream media is in stage 3- attack, when every single nation on the planet and the UN and various US agencies and their law-enforcement partners in other nations already know it is fact. Your friend is in stage 1 ignoring or denial. And it's understandable- it's a really deeply vomit-inducing thought that millions of people get off on watching children be tortured- such a thought probably never crossed his mind. But it crosses of plenty of sick evil twisted minds. I think denial and ignoring is more about we don't want to see the evil we are fully aware we could be capable of, but for the Grace of God- which ties into the concept of banality of evil that many otherwise perfectly pleasant, normal, unassuming well-adjusted people could engage in evils like the Holocaust or Mao Zedong's reign of red terror.

Amen. On July 4th, 2018 (five years ago tomorrow) I had my awakening to the fact that this level of evil exists in the form of child trafficking and rape and murder and that it's not just being perpetrated by a few random individual sickos acting on their own but that there are organized networks of these people, some of whom are very rich and powerful and even famous and it shook me to the core. When I saw the Podesta emails and how they were using known pedophile code words and then I saw how John Podesta's brother, Tony Podesta, had all kinds of paintings depicting child torture and I looked into Marina Abramevich and 'Spirit Cooking', the picture that was coming into focus for me sent chills down my spine and I remember telling my brother then, "This whole global power structure revolves around the trafficking, Satanic Ritual Abuse, rape, and murder of children. These people worship Satan and use blackmail on each other to make sure no one spills the beans and so everyone does as they're told." Then Jeffrey Epstein was arrested (speaking of "Q Anon", that's how I became aware of a lot of what's really going on). Now this movie is finally coming out and we're getting closer and closer to the 'Great Awakening', when the general public will finally be forced to wake up to this evil that exists, including and especially at the upper echelons of many global power structures. Those who partake in this kind of evil are promoted to positions of greater power, fame, and fortune because they can be controlled via black mail, (not to mention they're obviously the kind of people who have no conscience and therefore will do anything they're told to avoid being exposed for the evil they've engaged in and because it gives them more money, power, and access to children). That's what Epstein was. That's what Pizza Gate is really about (it's not about children being trafficked out of a pizza place). And the mainstream media has been covering it up. People are going to be shocked when they find out what's been happening to children and who some of the perpetrators are and who those who have protected the perpetrators are. Better put on the full armor of God. Oz is going bye bye. God bless.

Normal men are naturally protective especially when kids are involved. This stuff and the people involved makes my blood boil along with many other men and what I/we want to do to these pedos is frowned upon in society as to harsh. So it would be hard for me to sit through it and knowing I can't do what I want to do. What worries me is after time people will become distracted and this will lose the attention that we are seeing now. Law Enforcement individuals who deal with this are usually required to rotate out to other duties as it takes a mental toll on them. If the punishment changes for these sickos, I and others would gladly sign up to feed the wood chipper so our kids are safe from these evil demonic monsters.

This is what we really need to do, but it's going to take everyone we can to stand up against the swamp in DC and push this law for sex crimes. And the fact that Trump was the first government official of any kind to put this sick evil on blast of national TV, is the biggest reason the "elite" want to destroy him. Not only that, Trump didn't realize just how bad the "swamp" was, that he said he would drain, until he got elected and realized just how pervasive this is globally at every level. It is not just about the evil that is apparent in the movie and child trafficking. At the end of the day, we need to ask ourselves individually what we can personally do to help cure the problem we see in the long run, not just in society but also deep within us. We have to admit that we didn't get here by accident or just over night. Many sequences of philosophical and moral compromises through so many years made such a monstrosity we now see see in child trafficking and organ sales possible.

@@SlickArmor see the above answer to SteichenFamily. I don't even know how to answer that dumb ass question "Did he trash talk my mom like everyone seems to be trash talking your dad?" You know nothing about me or my story

The only way that I could watch this movie was on a plane going to Sydney Australia! I'm very happy that they played it there!

One the scariest things above all of it, is WHO the traffickers are. I had a battle with CPS years ago..when my eldest son was removed from my custody, he was put in shelter care that was run by a woman whose husband was a REGISTERED SEX OFFENDER. My then 8 year old son was molested and raped repeatedly. When it all came out they sent him home and apologized profusely..I sued CPS and the family and won. But that’s 1 case out of millions and money will never heal the trauma and damage they did to my son. 2 years later and he still has to have me next to him at all times. CHILDREN don’t deserve this. It makes me physically sick.
