• Glen Lyon, 4 Munros 23...
This walk from Invervar takes in the four Munros on the north side of Glen Lyon. A super outing with clear tops but the cold northerly wind making it a chilly outing.
thanks Charlie, you get so many super days.
Hi Vanessa, It helps when you have more than the weekend to try and hit the good weather days 🤣 Cheers
Great day out Charlie. Looks like a nice relaxed walk.
Hi Andy, Yes, these are a super grouping for all seasons. Cheers
Nice one chaps. A fine day on a fine wee round. 👍
Hi Kev, These four are always an enjoyable visit. Can certainly do with a bit of summer turning up. Take care. Cheers
This video landed perfectly, I'm planning to do these next Sunday. Was up Mount Keen yesterday, blowing pretty hard at the top.
Hi Sean, Great stuff, I'm sure you'll enjoy the round as they make a super loop walk. Enjoy... Cheers
I did this round very recently on the 30th May whilst on holiday, we were staying in Invervar so I didn't have the problem of parking, it's a fantastic round and I had very similar weather, an unrelenting cold brisk wind, but clear summits and no rain..........I reckon there is some good alternatives to the normal routes around the Lawers range starting from Glen Lyon too........
Hi Darren, We have actually walked into the east end of the Lawers range from the previous car park and its certainly a good alternative. Many thanks for taking the time to view. Cheers
Done those last month in zero visibility, nice to see the views I missed, done beinn a ghlo yesterday much more enjoyable with views.
The boulder field coming off of number 3 in Glen Lyon took me by surprise I thought they were all relatively grassy
Hello, Many thanks for taking the time to view yesterday's outing. Yes, the third top is a bit surprising given the grassy landscape of all the others. A super group of tops for all seasons 👍 Cheers
Another great video. Thanks for putting in the effort in what seemed to be a gale. But great pictures especially of Ben Lawers. Great walk.
Hello, Many thanks for taking the time to view our super outing yesterday. Not warm but very enjoyable. Cheers
Great video, what a cracking walk.
Hi Philip, Many thanks. It's a super area and group of tops that provide a loop thats ideal for all seasons. Cheers
Looked like you got a great dry day for this superb round. I was on Stob Ban on Saturday and we got sun, rain, hail, snow and icy winds. June in Scotland. Great film and thanks for sharing Murdo
Hi Murdo, This winter feel to the weather goes on. It was certainly bloody cold but the fresh clear day was very enjoyable. Stob Ban gave you the full weather menu by the looks of things. Cheers
lovely day - i still think it's the best, and possibly the easiest compact 4 munro circuit in scotland. lovely vid
Hi Richard, Yes, you're probably right about these four although they certainly toughen up a bit in winter condition. Cheers
Brilliant guys, cracking day for it, ❤
Hi Tam, Many thanks. Its a nice set of tops for all seasons 👍 Cheers
Hi Charlie, Hi Mike, cracking route, with some stunning views. It's so cold at the moment though isn't? You would not believe we are nearly the middle of June. 🥶
All the best gents
Dave
Hi Dave, Yes, it's bloody freezing and that wind would cut you in two. The bigger tops further west had a covering of snow as we continue to have single figure temperatures through the night. Summer might arrive soon... maybe 🤣 Cheers
Great Vid Charlie. Does the estate owner still request walkers do the route west to east as you did. Any ideas on why they make this request? Two years ago we chose to ignore this as friend only needed your 4th hill Meall nan Aighian 981m. We then did your 3 rd as an act of defiance. Actually it was claggy and wet on the tops we demonstrated navigation to 2 newbies to the hills.
Hi Rich, I've never heard that before regarding a request from the estate, unless it's during the shooting season? We tend to let the wind direction decide the route on these four so for the majority of the walk has it helping. I've certainly completed the anticlockwise route twice through the years. Cheers
Excellent views not done these Munro’s yet so was interested in the new place to park cheers
Hi Andrew, I'm sure you'll enjoy the outing once they get around to it. Cheers
New car park Charlie.....I was out in the garden on Sunday and it was really cold for June! Looks like yous had a nice day though. Maybe visit these again if I can get arounf=d my last 16 first..Cheers guys! Paul.
Hi Paul, The bloody wind would cut you in half 🤣 a great day nonetheless. What's your plans for the last Munro? The final few Munros are always the hardest as they tend to be fragmented and require a big effort for small gains but it's all good fun. Cheers
@@charliemccartney7055 Yeah we ended up with the heating on in the house! In June!
I was hoping to keep a single one for the last one Charlie. At the moment Slioch is looking a good contender. I have a trip arranged to Knoydart at the end of the month and fingers crossed for favourable weather. A few in Glen Affric and some of the Fannichs will see me down to a few scattered munros. A wee bit nervous of finishing.....Im already thinking about trying again.
@@PAADVENTURES1 Slioch was my 50th Munro on the first round, happy days with the old man, it's surprising how these milestones stick in your head. It's a cracking top and worthy of finishing the round. There is a lot to be said for leaving The Cairnwell for your last and get all family and friends up the chairlift for the celebration 🤣
You've still got that single at Loch Mullardoch which is a bit of a pain but you'll enjoy the visit I'm sure. Take care. Cheers
Nice one Charlie & Mike, cracking round those 4 altho it did sound a tad breezy. Great views as you headed round Charlie.👍 is that a permanent thing with the car park now.?
ATB
Frank
Hi Frank, Yes, there isn't any parking down by the gate but it is a bit bigger than the previous one. It was bloody cold, probably our thin blood, but it was good getting it at your back. Cheers
Great video. Did these years ago on a lovely sunny day. Is the new car park bigger? How many cars do you guess it holds? Thanks.
Hi Iain, The car park will take 20+ cars and certainly better than the small one up by the gate. Cheers
