- The PC version offers several resolution scaling options. The most recommended ones are DLSS (if you have an Nvidia 20XX or higher graphics card) or FSR otherwise.
- As a visual novelty, the PC version incorporates Ray-Tracing in shadows, ambient occlusion and reflections (in PS5 we only have reflections by Ray-Tracing).
- The shadows generated by ray-tracing mainly favor vegetation, although it also adds extra shadows or causes noticeable changes in the lighting of some specific areas such as Sargasso.
- Ambient occlusion by ray-tracing is more anecdotal.
- Ray-tracing reflections are applied to a multitude of surfaces and materials (except water). However, PS5 still shows better reflections in fidelity mode (same as Miles Morales).
- Ray-Tracing cannot be enabled on AMD graphics cards at the moment.
- SSR reflections projected on water are not displayed correctly on PC.
- The PC version shows slight improvements in draw distance and shadows when set to Ultra compared to PS5.
- For loading times, the PC version takes advantage of RTX IO to speed up the process. With an NVME we will get results very similar to PS5, while HDDs will break a bit the harmony of some transitions.
- 2D sprites (the wings of some insects) are not displayed correctly on PC.
- It is possible to modify the FOV on PC, getting a larger field of view compared to PS5.
- PC water has simplified its interaction when we walk on it or swim.
- Overall, it is a good optimization work although the full Ray-Tracing has a very high cost. With some graphical bugs still to be fixed, it is a better optimized version than the last Playstation release on PC (The Last of Us).

Gotta say: the low settings for fur give Ratchet a rougher look more akin to the design from the original PS2 games, before he got the current 'cleaner' look for the PS3 games.
Also of note that the PS5 version has fluid deformations but the PC version only a splash texture.
Hay una forma de ver los reflejos del agua correctamente: desactivar RTAO y usar únicamente el ajuste SSAO. Hasta que saquen un parche, esta es la vía y la perdida de calidad no es muy notable.
Es mejor no tener SSAO, lo artefactos que crea al mover la cámara es horrible.

I can't believe people really thought this game could run on a PS4 lol with its old 5400RPM Hitachi drive and 1.60ghz CPU with 8GB of shared memory with only 6GB being useable for gaming and the rest for the OS.

El mayor reto para un desarrollador en PC: hacer que el agua no esté glitcheada
tiene muchismos errores , me impresiona ver en todos lados diciendo que es un excelente port y una obra maestra, plagado de errores con reflejos, sombras , iluminacion, carga de texturas.... espero lo reparen enparches por que nadie se esta quejando dudo que lo hagan

@@luisafmo comparto tu opinión sin dudas, pero es que insisto en lo de exagerado porque yo me pase el the last of us en pc y si bien encontré un par de bugs (de los cuales me saqué unas risas) no hicieron el juego injugable, solo menos inversivo. Es esa la diferencia pero si que en este caso el juego salió un poco muy roto.
@@JorgeDimton si, medio exagerado el man, TLOU solo era injugable en las gráficas NVIDIA de la serie 3000 y NVIDIA tuvo que lanzar actualización de drivers para corregirlo, pero eso fue un caso puntual. Los crasheos que les daban a los demás fue porque no esperaban a que cargaran los shaders, y bueno tampoco es que fuese su culpa por impacientes, digamos que no hace mucha gracia tener que esperar 40 minutos en el menú para poder jugar sin problemas.

Yup the ps5 equivalent gpu rtx2070super and cpu can’t even come close to the ps5 here. A lot of the decompression is offloaded to the ps5 hardware where direct storage would need to use your gpu or cpu to do the same, hence lower performance.
@@maxminy5634 And the cost of the card alone (retail) is more expensive than the entire PS5 system, not including CPU/RAM/SSD/MB/etc. Even used, it may be hard to build a system that performs as well, and likely impossible for first party games.

You are judging hardwares by comparing the performace of a Native app vs a PORT.
Allow me to remind you how The Last Of Us Part 1 for PC was poorly optimized BY SONY... it had nothing to do with how magical the ps5 is guy.
Do you really need a radical mess of bugs and glitches to say "ok, this port has mistakes"?
Even Halo CE from a 2001 hardware had better effects than its 2020 port to Xbox Series and PC.
Was the original Xbox hardware better than current gears? NO, it's all about who and how did the port.

Históricamente casi siempre fue una mejor relación precio/calidad comprar una consola si solo quieres jugar videojuegos. El problema que hubo es que la anterior generación (PS4/One) las consolas tuvieron un hardware muy desfasado (cinco años o más en comparación con la tecnología del PC), lo que hizo que incluso un PC medianamente viejo corriese mejor los juegos y haya habido más gente que optara por éste por sobre las consolas. Por suerte, aprendieron de ese error y en esta generación tenemos un hardware de consolas mucho mejor.
it's also very much a question of optimization. Easier to optimize on a console than on pc with a lot of different configurations.
Will want to redo this in a month or so once all visual bugs are fixed as settings, textures, and models, entities, and shadows were/still are broken at that time of the comparison.

For some reason, this reminds me of the trains in 'Deus Ex: Mankind Divided' used as loading screens for zone changes. With an HDD, those loading times felt eternal.

Nah, me compre una 3070 y le puse proce y mobo medio basicones pero me salio como en $20 mil pesos armandola yo. Te compras una play y es comprar la play que no baja de 9 mil pesos mas membresia por año y $1200 por cada juego .
PC + cualquier numero de juegos que le quieras poner = $15mil pesos gastados, PS5 con 10 juegos comprados = $20mil pesos, Ya con tener la ps5 con 10 juegos ya se te extendio el costo a lo mismo o mas que la pc y el costo sigue en aumento por cada año de membresia que pagas y por cada juego extra que compras.
Esta peor la comparacion ahora que salio la 4060 bien barata en $6500 le agregas mobo y proce basicos igual y te puedes armar una pc que te corra los juegos por $15k.

Improper BVH structure making the shadows not cast on the right version of the geometry. Also because RT shadows have a longer casting distance there are somethings casting shadows that shadow maps didn't

There is difference in the water affected movement in PC Max version Ratchet is swimming you can see more animation water movement , in the PS5 version water doesn't have animation like that , Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart perfectly game for PC and PS5

The rt shadows are weird in some cases they look worse than the raster shadows I think* that it’s due to the bvh structure the shadows trace into witch causes this look. Frankly I feel the allready did a phenomenal job with the shadow maps so I don’t see their worth
RT shadows are absolutely worth it but yes you are right, there is an issue with the BVH structure. Insomniac's last use of them in Spider-man Mile Morales had a similar issue that wasn't fixed

Tbh, i dont even blame Nixxes for the issues small issues. They had to release 3 ports in less than a year and somehow they are all great. In a month from now it should be considerably more polished, if only sony had given then a small delay to fix the kinks.
I think these comparisons should have PC price tag along with it because that really does matter.
And all the prices of games playable on each platform. I would include all emulatable games as well.

It's amazing how the Playstation 5 manages to be a fantastic hardware and awesome too. The most interesting thing is one thing for such a low price to be as good or better than a PC on Ultra in countless things...
Remember this game is a port. If it were designed to be a PC first game it would look even better than this. But the PS5 is definitely an amazing piece of hardware but I would attribute this feat more to Insomniac and the wizards they have working there.

Tienes 64gb de ram? yo lo probe en un hdd 7200rpm con una 4070 i513600 y 16gb de ram. Se me congela cuando paso a un portal como por 10 segundos al igual que sufro de stuttering, se me satura toda la ram y obviamente el disco duro tambien. Me termine pasando al nvme

en el final fantasy xvi hay el mismo glitch del agua (del mar del escondite) pero en la ps5, es algo molesto cuando giro la camara, a ese juego le falta optimizar.

Nobody cares it's just a video game
In the game's current state the PS5 version is arguably even better. Faster loading times, less stutter in rifts, better RT reflections, relfections on water surfaces not broken, textures always loaded in correctly. The only benefit the PC version has over PS5 right now is RT shadows which also have some blocky issues in specific places.
Ports will always be compromised, wheter it's from console to PC or PC to console.

you would definitely notice a difference. I play at 4k with a 4090 and the 13900k with all settings max out and dlss3 frame generation averaging 100fps butter smooth zero stutters. You dont own a high end uptodate pc huge difference in clearity and image quality and overall performance.

Que lamentable lo de las sombras y los reflejos, incluso con RT activado... Decepcionante, aunque no tanto como el caso de TLOUP1.
Volveré a comprar el juego en PC, se ve bastante bien, cuando lo conseguí de lanzamiento en Ps5 me pareció bastante impresionante, ahora en PC mucho mejor, aunque debo decir que todavía le falta mejoras a la versión de PC.

Evidentemente el SSD está haciendo su trabajo, tal vez exageraron un poco pero no mentían.
Mintieron demasiado, decían que eran imposible sin el ssd de ps5 y ahí vemos que funciona en un disco duro equivalente a ps4. Si hubieran dicho que no sería la misma experiencia es muy distinto a decir que es imposible fuera de ps5

Today's PC hardware is on average a lot more powerful than 2021 PC hardware.

To have experience as smooth as on PS5 with PS5 or better visuals ,a VERY powerful PC needs to be used for HDD experience to be as smooth as SSD,if that's even possible.
I suppose loading the entire game into RAM might work.
It's 38 or so GB game.
And if you have 64GB RAM...it might work.

Muy buen port pero dista de ser perfecto, todavía no es una experiencia pulida que está a la altura de la version original.

@@odinprimerpuno3262 La tecnología Direct Storage está en pañales, a nivel specs cualquier PC moderna le pasa el trapo a un PS5, lo que falta es optimización para utilizar las tecnologías actuales. Igual mi comentario iba más que nada por los bugs que tiene el juego. El rendimiento del NVME es aceptable.
Yo lo probé en una RTX 3060TI y una RX 6800XT y la verdad anda muy fluido en ambas. Lo único que no me convence es que no tenga implementado Ray Tracing para las gráficas Radeon de salida. Dijeron que iban a trabajar en conjunto con AMD para solucionarlo lo antes posible, esperemos que cumplan.

Overall kinda disappointed with pc port, lighting looks subpar compared to ps5, the water has glitchy SSAO reflections, textures lower. Clearly made the right decision on not waiting for pc port.

Phones tend to have SSD's. And yes they likely could run it as smartphones aren't that weak. High end Smartphones could probably get decent performance. Mid range chips might struggle and low end chips no way

Speaking of the PS5 use custom AMD parts, the game has the most problems on AMD GPUs.
Consoles can have very specific things designed around them unlike on a PC. Now the API like DX12 or Vulkan handles the multiple rigs but you won't get a game specifically around a certain PC spec. Plus there have been plenty of bad console ports recently. Basically most bad PC ports are also bad console releases as well
