    Tip for people following the tutorial now: the bake sound to f-curves in blender 4.0 is called "sound to samples" and it is found in the "channel" menu on the right of the "key" menu.

    The last tip in compisiting was so helpful so I have a tip also in geonode that is if your finding instance on point: just type ip
    Combine XYZ: just type cx
    Separate XYZ: just type sx
    Map Range: just type mr
    Curve Circle: just type cc
    Mesh to Curve: just type mtc
    Curve to Mesh: just type ct
    Fill Curve: just type fc
    Set Position: just type se
    And there are also many nodes that you can type shortcutly
    And Thanks for the tutorial🤗 love to see more geonode tutorials

      @@KaizenTutorials yeah, do you know how to fade in fade out Emission material with transparency on color ramp for EEVEE render ?

    • @KaizenTutorials
      @KaizenTutorials  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah i believe you can just keyframe the values for the emission using a colorramp. Leave the ramp on black and white and drive it with for example a gradient texture. Then make sure to plug in the colorramp in both emission and alpha values. Then go into material settings and make sure to set it to alpha blend in the transparency settings! That should work.

    • @KaizenTutorials
      @KaizenTutorials  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! Have you baked your audio to the F curve like shown in the video? Also it might be your music is too soft or doesn't have enough 'sound' to generate an effect. If this is the case take a value node, bake the sound there, add a math node set to multiply, multiply by a large number like 100 and then plug that into the value fo the scale. This way you can control how strong it is and see if the music is the problem. Alternatively you can also add different music and see if that helps at all!

    Hint. If you are going to use the same Audio Baked F-Curve, just use an Input Value Node. Bake into the value node, then use the value node to input into any driver you want. This could save you a lot of memory opposed to if you are baking the same sound into several different drivers separately.

    Nice Tutorial.. Thanks...
    Me being a total nub to Blender, it was a little hard to follow as you know all the Hot Key and short cuts. But I figured it out.
    I was good to the point where you ran the first animation pressing the space bar as you mentioned. fps is clicking away, collection is clicking away. All the steps, settings and placements in the nodes matches yours but I have no movement to see how the waveform is moving.. I'm sure it is in the animation setting, but you didn't touch on that.
    If you have some suggestions that would help me achieve the same results as you are receiving, that would be great.

      I'm sorry I should have made some stuff clearer using a keycast overlay so you can see what I'm pressing!
      Have you made sure to bake the sound to the correct nodes? So that the sound is actually 'moving' your geometry? I show how to do this around th-cam.com/video/rSrjDgWWlWs/w-d-xo.html. Hope this helps! If not, feel free to send me an e-mail at kaizentutorials@gmail.com with your issue and I'll have a look :-)

    Amazing tutorial, btw...I'm pretty new on Blender, and I have a question: Can I use this or is there any way to add this effect on a video composition made also in Blender? Let me explain: I making a podcast and I would like to use a Audio visualizer, and the best option was to use Adobe After Effects but I cannot pay for it, I checked that Blender also has a video editor, where you can edit just like AE but a bit more limited. So I would like to use the Video Sequence Editor on Blender, and add this Audio Visualizer, is it possible? or it belongs to other area? Thanks!

    • @KaizenTutorials
      @KaizenTutorials  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thank you! Yes this would be definitely possible. However it would be a 2-step process. Meaning that 1 you would need to create your edit in Blender first. Make sure it is complete and everything is done except the waveform part. Now you can export your video from this edit.
      After rendering the audio you can now create this setup and instead of using music, use the audio from your podcast. Import and bake to the F-Curve. Now your waveform should work and you can now import your video edit in the Sequence editor and combine it there with the waveform. This should work just fine.
      I think doing this in AE would be easier, but like you said... AE is very expensive. So Blender is a good and FREE option to do this aswell! Good luck.

    I have a weird issue. My animation was working perfectly in sync. Maybe I made a mistake along the way. The problem is I think that the waveform nodes are going faster/slower than the music in the video editor pane. I've set my export settings to 60fps, could that be it? I already went into the graph editor and removed the the existing bakes from the wave texture and multiply parts. Then reset the timeline in the geometry overview to 1, rebaked the sound. But it still is out of sync. At the end of the tutorial everything seemed to be in sync with the base. Now it's not. Where should I look to fix this? I also tried a different song, which is a bare beat, and the waveform is out of sync as well with that one.

    • @KaizenTutorials
      @KaizenTutorials  ปีที่แล้ว

      It could be the FPS. Not sure though but I think I used 30. Try using that and see if that syncs up. If that isn't it it might be something with time remapping. Not sure though!

    Thank you Kaizen. Great tutorial & detailed explanation of course. I was wondering if i can change the song later and how to do that in this settings. Could you tell me which node to key again to change the song i rendered or should i do the whole process again? Sorry i'm new to blender and nodes are very confusing right at the moment.

    • @KaizenTutorials
      @KaizenTutorials  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can easily change the song. Just go back to the video editor, remove the current song, add a new one. Then go to geometry nodes and remove the keyframes you added to the nodes (as shown in the tutorial). Make sure you are on frame one and then add new keyframes. Open up the graph editor and replace the keyframes with the Bake sound to F-curve of the new song. It should now work with new music! :-)

    During Compositing, you say "right click and drag over these two to combine them together" referring to the Composite Node and the Viewer Node. When I right click a menu appears. How do I do the click, drag, combine thing? Slower with more detail like I'm 5, please.

    • @KaizenTutorials
      @KaizenTutorials  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hahaha allright here it goes; First of all Step 1 - make sure you go into preferences > add ons > and enable the 'Node Wrangler' addon. It's a great addon that allows you to many different things with shader/Geometry nodes, making them more user friendly.
      Then Step 2 - With Node Wrangler enabled hop on over to any node based window, in this particular case the compositor. There you want to combine both the Composite and the Viewer node together. The default compositor output is ONLY the composite node. To get the viewer node you can CTRL + SHIFT click on any node, which will automatically create a Viewer node with that specific node as the output.
      Step 3 - You now have both a composite and viewer node, both being input by the same node (e.g. the final compositing node I usually use 'Lens Distortion'. To combine both of these you can hold down SHIFT and then Right mouse click (and hold the mouse button down) and drag your mouse across both connections. This should create a 'combine' socket which combines both connectors into one, with 2 outputs. 1 going into the Composite and 1 going into the Viewer.
      If you perform the actions correctly you should see a small dotted line whilst doing the SHIFT+RMB and drag function btw.
      Hope this helps! :-) Good luck 🙌

    You did beautiful job making this, and I can tell a lot of work went into the explanation. I was able to fully follow this to the end as instructed. But I was unable to export this exactly with the same emission settings with a transparent background. I went through every possible setting, including enabling transparency in film, enabling bloom, increasing strength of emission, etc. My render preview even looks perfect, showing emission behind the default transparent background. But when I load the export into Adobe Premiere, I only get the colors and no emissions whatsoever. Do you have any recommendations for that situation? Thank you!

    • @KaizenTutorials
      @KaizenTutorials  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh yeah that’s an issue. There’s no real way to fix that, that I know off. You can either do everything in Blender; so just import your footage there and use it as the background, or you can render out your video with a black background including the emission. Then just use it in your video editor of choice with screen settings. Won’t look ideal, but it’ll sort of work.

    • @KaizenTutorials
      @KaizenTutorials  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      As far as I know the only thing you can currently do is seperate based on frequency ranges when you import the track. So let's say you add a motion on the Z axis (so an object moves up and down based on sound), then you can hit 'Bake sound to F-curve'. In the window that pops up you can select lower and higher end frequencies. This is what Blender will use to determine what range of the sound/song is imported. Afterwards, however, there is no way to tweak it.
      To seperate instruments to get different instruments doing different effects e.g. you'd be best off getting a track with seperated track sounds. This would make your life a lot easier, because else you'll be manually looking for the right frequency bands for each instrument.
      Hope this helps!

    -------Original Comment--------
    I'm trying to make the waveforms (horizontal wave texture scale) to be be as close as possible so I can make it a much longer waveform but multiplying the value just gives odd shapes, I know we can't do anything to modify the baked audio but I figure there must be a way within the node tree to cheat this?
    Also I noticed another comment say they had it follow a curve so I figured I'd try to animate that but it only deforms no matter what combination of modifiers n constraints I try.
    I'm guessing the only way to do such a thing would be within this node tree somehow, how much work do you think that would be?
