Yup. This was i always asking for. Basic console controller have 4 buttons. Then make one button for each move for the Pokémon. Same as classic game only have 4 move. Then control movement by joystick. Like the anime trainers just ask their Pokémon to dodge an attack. A little correction with the Post game it goes from kanto to Kalos and there's a battle frontier that you can do parallel to Kalos, mostly because the Kalos league is centered around exploring HUGE labyrinthine Virgin Islands which is very heavy on exploring and well if that's not your playstyle you can do the battlefrontier while taking a break from the comet islands (Heavily recommend a building called "the zone" because yes, IT IS a ROGUELIKE mode in the abttle frontier), also hm abilities stay, even if you forget the move, so for example if your pokemon learns cut once it can cut trees forever even if it forgets cut, you can press Z in the first summary screen of any Pokemon to scroll through their external abilities.

Rest of the builds are perfect, even the tower is funny, challenging and makes you train more pokemon. When you win a battle frontier brain, the main story continues in another region of the map, the comet islands, I can swear that the design mapping on that is a never seen before in pokemon games with a new way of exploration rooms. 5th gen league and befroe are included after the battle frontier too, so the game has content for hundreds of hours. One last thing, you can choose between 2 music game mode tracks, the pokemon music or the custom by the creator, it has a lot of 2000-2010 bangers in 16bit and I'm headbanging all the time with this so, give it a try

This is pretty cool, and pretty much like something I wanted as a kid (although me as a kid wanted the battles to be in 3D, largely inspired by Spectrobes), although nowadays... I feel this wouldn't really work without making some pretty major concessions on what has become the standard of the Pokemon-series. Like, the actions all being real-time in a competetive setting would make actions like switching Pokemon pretty difficult to manage, the only real way to streamline this would be to do a scroll-wheel like in Legends Arceus... and even that could be a bit slow and clunky. Having 4 moves on a controller also would mean 4 buttons are occupied, generally complicating how to map the controls. Then there's also how certain attacks function, the range and AoE some attacks have realistically would definitely require some rebalancing, and some attacks just couldn't keep their original effects, like, how would Aerial Ace keep its guaranteed hit, same as Disarming Voice, and in general the stats for evasion and accuracy shouldn't matter anymore since accuracy in an action-game should be primarily decided by the players inputs, at best accuracy-lowering moves should mess with what the player sees, but not exist as actual stats anymore, and in general move-accuracy would translate differently. Double Battles would also be basically impossible unless one Pokemon would be controlled by the AI. So... it feels like it's already moving away from how the mainline games play, so something like that would work way better as a spin-off, not bound by restrictions like stats, team size, how attacks specifically function or how many moves a Pokemon has. Then there's development in full 3D... So yeah, while it's cool to see something like this with an approach closer to the mainline games, I wouldn't hold my breath for anything like that from the official side outside of maybe as a spin-off like Pokken.
Yeah, Pokémon Reloaded has its how system and meta, like Speed having a whole different meaning and effect than the original games and PP working really different. I will explain how things you mentioned work in this Game: Scrolling through Pokémon can be done directly by pressing 1-6 on the keyboard or using a specific key to scroll through them, in addition to opening the menu, of course. Using 4 keys for moves is not a liability when moving and using moves is mostly the only thing you do in Battle. Attacks that don't miss are homming in this game. Lowering Accuracy makes the moves to derail in an angle from the direction you casted them, the lower the accuracy the bigger the angle. Evasion reduces the bounding box of the Pokémon if i'm not mistaken. In Double battles the Pokémon you don't control moves automatically without casting any moves and you can switch control between them by pressing the same key you use to switch pokémon. (they still kinda feel clunky, but they work). In addition I will mention items are limited to 6 in trainer battles, as well as other things like healing moves an switching are limited too. Some moves like teleport have new use in battles. Some news were added like Porygon Z having an attack that inverts the movement controls. @@Justic_ aka, most Pokémon fans never played the main series games of the Monster Hunter franchise: the often cooler and more action intensive monster “collection” sibling of Pokémon. I did try an old monster hunter game from a friend of mine. Man, my hands today as a thirty year old cannot handle all of that micro management, movement, and action. It is fun when one is still young. But for us gamers with a real life job and responsibilities to care for others, it takes way more patience and time to learn these intense skills.
@@jirehtheproviderbut turn based jrpgs like Pokémon are the same? Their difficultly is just lowered. And Mobas and MMOs like WOW are still played by gamers with real life jobs.
It's actually also possible to breed legendaries in this game; in fact, that's how you're _supposed_ to shiny hunt them! Granted, it's not as simple as just grabbing a Ditto...
@@JacksonVoet In this game it's doable with all Legendaries, up to and including ones like the Creation Trio and Arceus. The catch is that in order to breed legendaries, you need to breed them with a Mew. Otherwise, it won't work (this also makes Phione harder to obtain, as now you have to breed two Manaphy to get Phione; Ditto won't work).
@@Hyperneosonic97 Ah. I’m just gonna create a super rare item that makes a Pokémon shiny. However, I will make it so that if you breed a special unown with the breeding Pokémon of this game, you have a tiny chance to get a special preevolution of the Creation Trio, that can evolve into one if them.
@@JacksonVoet Funny, because this game does something somewhat similar? Except by breeding certain Pokemon you get their baby forms. One of the fakemon is called Latly, a pre-evolution of Latios and Latias, obtained by breeding the two (if you breed Latios or Latias with a Mew, you'll instead get the egg of the corresponding twin), which evolves at level 40 based on its gender.

I dunno what it was about world championship but it was like my favorite Digimon game when I was younger, I guess I just like watching things fight sometimes.
This is sick! I’m making a game with a similar concept except the combat is like a platform fighter and the creatures show up in the overworld. Other changes too but the idea of a pokemon like game with real time combat is at the core.
Im 23, the first time I played this game I was 11, I have been literally waiting for the final version of this game for more than half my life and it's still in beta. Also for those wondering, the Post game is like 70% of the story.
games fun but it can be very very hard, especially gym battles, and moves like double team are usually useless because the ai knows which one you are, but the game has pvp so it works well there.
Bruh wtf gym 1 with 6 mon ok There's a fully evolved Pokémon that's illegal ok Spamming moves ok Spamming full restore that's when I want to rage quit wtf this is so dumb It's not even about difficulty at this point that's just bs
Its not that hard when you understand how the ai play for example theres two type of ai one where his movements will be random and the hard one that will always stay close when it have enough pp to attack and then run, and how status effects stay the whole fight unless the poke get healed and also movements that boost your stats can get stacked x6 times this combined whit attacks that get boost dmg each hit make for a deadly combo where you can onehit pokes before they get healed, some pokes are too fast? go whit a poke whit a lot of speed and toxic spikes or just have a low tier attack like pound that uses low pp for the movement. The only hard part of the game for me was the batle island where every tower has his unique rules, being the one where you pick random pokemons every batle my favorite one.

I found out about the beta of this game in 2014 and since then I have waited 10 years for this moment, I am very happy that it is finally out and is getting some visibility. Enjoy it, it's an amazing game. For me the best fangame of all Pokémon!
I would love to make my own fan games and rom hacks like this, but I have absolutely no idea how to code anything. Really wish more fan games would implement this kind of gameplay, cause it'd definitely make me play more of them
one of my favorites things to do is put heal pulse and calm mind on gardevoir since heal pulse bounces of the wall and heals you and you can just calm mind and heal until you are at full sp atk
Anyone looking to try this fan-game should keep two things in mind: -This is a spanish fan-game, there's a language option, but the translation can be a little hit or miss, since most dialogue was translated literally. -Actions are context specific, so remapping actions can be extremely tedious, for example, if you want to remap the "Action" key you need to do it for the menu, dialogue, overworld, etc. since they're all different actions but all mapped to "Z" Now, if you don't plan to remap keys and don't mind the rough translation definitely give this a try.
Actually, if you remap "Action" in the first set of keys, it gets remaped in all the other sets... unless you tried to remap it to a key that's already being used. That's why I recommend remaping conflicting keys to a free place in the keyboard like the numpad.
If this this game had the Rogue aspect that PokeRogue has, i would play it for a looong time, but thanks for shining light on it with this video, as i would never imagine something like that existed!
@@KitsuneFaroe I don't really like the aspect of having to walk around and do the whole Pokémon grinding and whatnot since I'm used to PokeRogue, which is straight up battles, but thanks nontheless!
@@ElysianTwin if this game have something, is battles and challenges more than anything actually. It doesn't Focus too much on the exploration side as other fangames. I would say give it a chance if you haven't and like its system!
Reminds me of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon where the game actually played very similar to this game. Just minus the atk/skill clash and game modes but items had physics of clashing with enemies or walls so u could use what items u find and use the ones which have negative effects like exploding / poison seeds on enemies which would affect them if thrown.
Mistery Dungeon looks Real time but is still tirn based (since if you dont move, nothing does), here the battles ARE real time But may still remember you of Mistery dungeon since almost all pre-gen 4 pokemon sprites are from there, maybe slightly modified, but the base is still Mistery Dungeon
@@lishark843 It is a great mod to the game genre and in turns of pacing and story that is closer to anime so don't get me wrong as you read the whole comment. when u say real time , how much of it is real-time? Since as we both saw in video , this is still turn based and It has been yrs since I played mystery dungeon but think they had dynamic weather events which were more real-time than what I saw in this game. (Think it was mostly on GBA for me and then for some using emulators so forgive me for inaccuracy) Think u could use move like rain dance / any weather based move it would actively take effect throughout the floor and overwrite the floor's weather for the duration of move which I don't see here and dunno how you played Mystery Dungeon but there were shortcuts to using pokemon moves directly without accessing menu , only items needed to be in quick slots for quick use. Here I see the same methods but with a touch based input similar to mobile phone with more fluidity in the char animations but still feels turn based but at 2X / 3X the speed like in emulators where the delay of the turn is reduced rather than removed. Mystery dungeon felt rigid in its movement due to the arrow key like restriction applied to it , which did improve in later hardware. So as far as game is concerned it is still turn based but more like speed up to accomodate the player rather than do it in real time. Check out a PSP game called ZENOVIA , This game movement & combat seems to inspired from it but it was not a real-time game but a good old JRPG style one with free combat.
@Shark u got my reply right? Weird my comment got ghosted when I came back to add that ZENOVIA did that by compressing the map/instance size which allows them to process animation slightly faster than usual when the background is less & used a static background for that area but made enemies dynamic to give real-time effect.
@@ak-ub1ym I cant even see what comment you are talking about, the only 2 messages that appear under your original are mine and the one im answering rn
@Shark : I gave a reply to your first comment and when I came to add a few things found that comment was removed. Not sure why TH-cam would ghost my comment when I wasn't trying to be edgy / saying offensive stuff. Basically what I said was This game seems to take a lot from ZENOVIA a PSP game in combat section where they give you the illusion of real time combat but is still similar to turn based ones and used compressed instances to speed up animation making it look like it's real-time. (Been years since I played Mystery Dungeon games which most were on GBA and to some extent on Drastic for NDS and what I say might be inaccurate so please bear with me) Mystery dungeon had the same system but felt rigid due the Arrow key movement but what I see is this game is not as real time as u say since the weather / env move or abilities don't overwrite the floor weather like in Mystery Dungeon which added dynamic elements to the game.
I had low expectations here! I thought it was going to be like Pokken or Unite or even something like Mystery Dungeon, but this is actually really intuitive and just alters a familiar concept in something that works! Arguably less strategic in exchange for more combative gameplay, but fun! I like it!
I had an extremely similar idea for this kind of Pokémon game. I think the most prominent difference between this and what I had drafted is the PP system. I was thinking the moves would work a little similarly to Wizard of Legend’s spell system, where the individual moves would have their own cool downs, depending on their power. But I have a feeling this game is a bit more balanced with it’s move system, since you’re not facing hordes of enemies and spamming one move all the time lol
Neat its a combo of normal pokemon, an action game, and the ATB system of final fantasy, I love this, now we need it in a full 3d action pokemon game. Gym badges, league, all the normal pokemon stuff, just with this kinda battle system. Imagine jump dodging like a flamethrower, and instantly countering it with a grass move repeatedly, and being able to actually win a battle with a pokemon 10+ levels above you, and type advantaged, but skill actually makes you stand a chance against it. Not much of one if they have any skill at all, but still possible. *Activated anime plot armor*
this... this is amazing I really like a pokemon game that changes the battle entirely the pokemon that I know right now that changes the battle is this pokemon reloaded and pokemon crown
This is really cool. Although being able to control your Pokemon in battle is kind of OP. I think some Digimon games do a better job of representing what a Pokemon battle is actually like where you stand on the sidelines shouting commands and your partner acts autonomously, using learned moves and obeying commands based on how disciplined and intelligent you've raised them to be.
If you combine the two thinks you dont like they cancel eachother out. When you rematch old trainers their pokemon have leveled up and you can use them to train new pokemon or even your old ones
I was so sad when in Pokemon Legends, I had full ability to move, but my pokemon could not. In addition to that, all beam and clearly AOE moves were single target. The perception the combat was dumbed down to before Gen 3's double battle mechanics stung even more. Then Palworld came out, and it did everything I wanted a real-time pokemon battle to be. Had I known of this game, I probably wouldn't have played 200+ hours of Palworld, lol.
I'm having a lot of trouble with the first gym. The gym leader uses items at the perfectly wrong time for me to win, so I guess GGs there. Took a break and I'm now in pokemon insurgence and I'm super addicted.
You can agree for a battle with no ítems by pressing T and saying "without objects". You could also set the difficulty to proffesional or extreme so you deal enough damage that they don't have time to heal. This Game start is harsh but it gets better. Also remember Leaders scale to the higher level on your team, so keep your team balanced.
Ok I need this mode for the next gen Nintendo Pokémon game Pokémon company should take notes I would love this alongside the classic battle system and then maybe they could even throw in the aceus system TLDR the next game for next gen could and should be innovative af
What was that game poken tournament? The one that was an action game, but wasnt a typical pokemon game either. Id love to see a game like that, but still have a selection of all the different moves like normal pokemon, and actual action fights, and of course we have to have to have actually weakening and catching pokemon like the main games, and full team building. Maybe you start a battle throw out your first pokemon, and fight with that one until it faints or you switch for whatever reason. Having dodging being an actual thing, not just a chance to miss, make the moves nice, and flashy like the anime. Id be in pokemon heaven. Wouldnt even need every pokemon, just like a 250-300ish number like Arceus. A good mixture of fan favs, making sure they get all of them in there, and then throw in the rest based on popularity. If done right I garuntee itd be one of the highest selling pokemon games ever. Itd easily match arceus at least, and if they do it correctly, which seems to be a tall order for nentendo and the pokemon company now adays, but if they did, it would absolutely be the pokemon game of everyones dreams. I love the turn based normal pokemon, but damnit I want the anime in a game. I want to actually control the pokemon, the timing of things, be able to dodge, all that good stuff that comes with an action game.
I love this game cause it brings a new aspect to pokemon battles but I wish u could know the number of potion the enemy is going to use it would make it a lot easier
6, same as you, they are ways to deal with potions such as disabling items by saying "without objects"with T next to the trainer and other tricks knowing when they will use them.

A tip I would give is to iterate your Team from the get go. This pretty much solves the whole leveling problem. Gym Leaders and other important trainers scale from the Pokémon with the highest Levels on your Team. Otherwise they would have a level similar from the trainers you find un routes. (This was Made like this because some people were complaining at being overleveled and brezzing through the Game)
5:19 It is not in Gen-2. It is in Gen-4: DPPt, HGSS. In Sinnoh only for cute pokemons tho, but in Kanto and Johto it is for any pokemon in your first slot. It came before and later again in Kanto in Gen-1 Pokemon Yellow, and its remake: Let's go PE.

I remember I was about to get the Red version for gameboy in 1996 because all my friends were obsessed with it, and this is how I imagined the gameplay waiting in the dentist’s office the day before I finally got it.
I will explain how things you mentioned work in this Game:
Scrolling through Pokémon can be done directly by pressing 1-6 on the keyboard or using a specific key to scroll through them, in addition to opening the menu, of course.

It's actually also possible to breed legendaries in this game; in fact, that's how you're _supposed_ to shiny hunt them!
Granted, it's not as simple as just grabbing a Ditto...
The game going to make will allow that too, but only for lower hierarchy legendaries like Entei or Celebi, maybe Mewtwo.

@@FluxYT108 wait how did u get to chikorita before having rock smash i though u needed that well doesnt matter i beat him with pignite and machop

This game came out at the right time
If it wasn't for gen 6 super training with damn balloons and legends a lot of Pokémon players wouldn't be receptive to try something like this but at this point real time battle on 2d sprites it's just perfect charming nostalgic enough while also novelty enough PERFECT FOR FANMADE COMMUNITY
Really wish more fan games would implement this kind of gameplay, cause it'd definitely make me play more of them
15year? The dedication is real.
I absolutely love this game! The battles take long, but they are too much fun.
been playing this game for over 10 years now it's one of my favorites
one of my favorites things to do is put heal pulse and calm mind on gardevoir since heal pulse bounces of the wall and heals you and you can just calm mind and heal until you are at full sp atk
I swear if this has a multiplayer option it’s blowing up
Anyone looking to try this fan-game should keep two things in mind:
-This is a spanish fan-game, there's a language option, but the translation can be a little hit or miss, since most dialogue was translated literally.
-Actions are context specific, so remapping actions can be extremely tedious, for example, if you want to remap the "Action" key you need to do it for the menu, dialogue, overworld, etc. since they're all different actions but all mapped to "Z"
Now, if you don't plan to remap keys and don't mind the rough translation definitely give this a try.
This Game is LONG enough and have very intense challenges specially on the Battle Frontier. If you want somewhat the feeling.
It also doesn't requiere grinding due to the amount of battles it has, just be carefull about the way you train your Pokémon and fight trainers because Leaders scale to the higher level on your team and you will never have a problem with it.
I would say give it a chance if you haven't and like its system!
@@KitsuneFaroe I'll give it a chance, thanks!
If the main games evolve like this combat mechanics it would be tons of fun
Reminds me of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon where the game actually played very similar to this game.
Just minus the atk/skill clash and game modes but items had physics of clashing with enemies or walls so u could use what items u find and use the ones which have negative effects like exploding / poison seeds on enemies which would affect them if thrown.
Mistery Dungeon looks Real time but is still tirn based (since if you dont move, nothing does), here the battles ARE real time
But may still remember you of Mistery dungeon since almost all pre-gen 4 pokemon sprites are from there, maybe slightly modified, but the base is still Mistery Dungeon
(Think it was mostly on GBA for me and then for some using emulators so forgive me for inaccuracy)
Think u could use move like rain dance / any weather based move it would actively take effect throughout the floor and overwrite the floor's weather for the duration of move
which I don't see here and dunno how you played Mystery Dungeon but there were shortcuts to using pokemon moves directly without accessing menu , only items needed to be in quick slots for quick use.
(Been years since I played Mystery Dungeon games which most were on GBA and to some extent on Drastic for NDS and what I say might be inaccurate so please bear with me)
Mystery dungeon had the same system but felt rigid due the Arrow key movement but what I see is this game is not as real time as u say since the weather / env move or abilities don't overwrite the floor weather like in Mystery Dungeon which added dynamic elements to the game.
This looks BEAUTIFUL!!!! ALSO DO y’all remember that Pokémon fan game POKÉMON GENERATIONS?! AHHH NEED THAT ALSO
I had low expectations here!
But I have a feeling this game is a bit more balanced with it’s move system, since you’re not facing hordes of enemies and spamming one move all the time lol
something straight out of the Flash age, but *way* more polished. noice.
The fascinating thing is that the Mons are in PMD style sprites
I played something like this earlier this year. It's called Palworld.
I've been daydreaming about this kind of Pokemon game
Neat its a combo of normal pokemon, an action game, and the ATB system of final fantasy, I love this, now we need it in a full 3d action pokemon game. Gym badges, league, all the normal pokemon stuff, just with this kinda battle system. Imagine jump dodging like a flamethrower, and instantly countering it with a grass move repeatedly, and being able to actually win a battle with a pokemon 10+ levels above you, and type advantaged, but skill actually makes you stand a chance against it. Not much of one if they have any skill at all, but still possible. *Activated anime plot armor*
That's literally what this Game is except the 3D part.
this looks like a fusion of concepts from regular pkmn games and pkmn mystery dungeon and pkmn ranger series
this... this is amazing I really like a pokemon game that changes the battle entirely
the pokemon that I know right now that changes the battle is this pokemon reloaded and pokemon crown
I feel inspired by your videos. Thank you very much.
This is what I wanted for so many years...
The battle system kind of reminds me of Pokemon Rumble, which was a really fun game.
So basically Pokémon Rumble with all four moves. Cool
Full length long play let's go!!!!
They need to add maps with terrain like trees or boulders in the way and they must be destructible
