I assume this part of China is about as far from Shanghai as you can travel within the country. And the magnificent views of the Altai Mountains resemble, in a way, those of the Carpathian Mountains along the Romania-Ukraine border. Thank you for capturing and sharing the breathtaking, idyllic views of Northern Xinjiang with us.
Thank you for watching! It’s around 4500km from Shanghai so not close at all hahah. It is very beautiful though, I always feel at home in the mountains ❤️
So beautiful. Hemu and Northern Xinjiang is so breathtaking. With the Altai Mountains and Tianshan Mountains it’s possibly the most beautiful place in China 😍👏👏 This is maybe your best video series yet. ❤
The Birchwood trees, the river, and the next video's lake look so beautiful! Was there anything to look out for in the woods that would require something like bear spray? I'm continually surprised by the landscape in Xinjiang. To go from desert canyons to now beautiful forests is so fascinating. The style of the buildings in the town where your cabin was looked so Europeany from the view at 6:35 which is intriguing and cool. The image of the night sky was magnificent, but given the ice on your vehicle, I'm not sure many people could last outside very long to enjoy the view lol. I'm sure that like with Shanghai, the sunrises and sunsets are amazing there, too! Can't wait for the next video of this series!
Thanks for watching! In this area I’m not sure about the wildlife but further north where we will visit in the next video we saw lots of signs for bears and poisonous snakes in the mountains forests which was a bit alarming but the area was more touristy so it’s unlikely the bears would be close by. For Jiadengyu where we slept, it had a heavy Russian influence as again it is close to the Russian border.
Again, another Lost Horizon. Fantastic scenery. Are the original people Khazaks? You can still enjoy coffee in the village, seems not very "Lost" at all. I wish I could spend three to four days here during the icy days.
I’m not entirely sure if they originated from Kazakhstan or Mongolia (or somewhere else entirely) as they have since developed their own traditions, customs, and language. It gives me a huge sense of awe to travel so far into the mountains and deserts and yet find these small lively villages that are so vibrant and welcoming. ❤️
Amazing discovery! Very unusual style for China or even Xinjiang, this place can be packed of visitors it's in Canada. Canada should do something like this there as it has the same kind of landscapes and sceneries in some provinces. How much were the room and meals?
@@Anonymous------ It was very beautiful, heavily influenced Kazakhstan since it is so close to the border. Our cabin here was 1400rmb so quite expensive considering we are away in Xuzhou at the moment and our hotel is only 328 and far more luxurious hahah. But I don’t mind staying in cheaper places as this cabin was very authentic and representative of the local area (plus supports local businesses rather than big hotel corporations!). I think Canada is very beautiful, I studied in Ontario but never had the chance to head to the mountains.
@@ExpatNatt Landscapes like this are common in Alberta, and the province has a lot of tourism, this style of hotel can make Alberta more interesting for the tourists. 1400 RMB or about CAD250 is about the price for a regular 1-bedroom hotel room in tourist regions in Alberta during the busy season, and there is nothing like this hotel style there, this style can be made to incorporate the native people culture in Canada. There is almost no incorporating native culture in tourist hotels anywhere in Canada, this hotel style suits the purpose.
@@mitchelllee3503 everything we ate was incredible. This was in Autumn, the scenery in Xinjiang is stunning no matter the season. In winter there is lots of snow and it’s popular for skiing, and in summer/spring the mountains are so green and resemble Switzerland. Autumn is considered to be the most beautiful those with the beautiful coloured trees.
There were lots of trail around Kanas (this video will be released today!), and we saw lots of signs saying to beware of bears and poisonous snakes so it is recommended to stay on larger trails. I don’t know if/where you can get bear spray, we didn’t venture too far into the mountains for this reason.
@@ExpatNatt that's a great video! i am inspired to plan a visit this coming summer. I tried to look it up on Komoot or alltrails, but no luck. i wonder if there's any apps or website you would recommend when it comes to hiking/travel planning in China? also is it okay to camp instead of booking airbnb?
@ unfortunately I don’t know of any apps or resources for hiking trails in China, and as for camping it can be very difficult as everywhere you stay you need to register with local police. Many hotels and airbnbs don’t accept foreigners for this reason as it can be difficult and time consuming for them to register you with police. When it comes to camping there is nobody to register you with local law enforcement so it’s not legal. You may be able to find campsites on Trip.com (and potentially hiking trails too) that accept foreigners but I’d also be cautious of which season you intend to go since summer is unbearably hot and winter very cold!
Should made a longer video with more details, this one is too much of a rush. Use key words to increase views for your videos, they should get many views. You know, videos showing good things about China are automatically hidden by this platform.

We LOVED the food in Xinjiang, let us know, what’s YOUR favourite food? 🥘
My favorite is spicy hotpot. But Xinjiang skewers are also super delicious 😍😍
羊肉串,大盘鸡,烤包子🥳
Try roujiamou. i hope I spelled it right. Their mutton burger.
