At first, when I saw the post about her severe allergic reaction while remaking her grandmother's cabinet door, I wondered why the material was so harmful to her health but she still tried to complete it to the last stage. But after watching this video, I understood why and really admired her perseverance and not giving up. Maybe this comes from her love and respect for traditional values and ancient crafts that are now gradually fading away. And also her love and respect for her grandmother. This video really helped me see the lacquer process clearly, understand why paintings and other things using lacquer techniques are so valuable. They are so beautiful, so sophisticated and so elaborate to be created. I really admire her and also thank for her dedication to completing and filming the process.

I unexpectedly started crying as the video progressed, realising that she made it while she was 'away'. I think it symbolises what she has gone through in the past few years. The layers upon layers of lacquer seemed endless, but it all contributed to the beautiful artwork in the end.
