Jimmy did too at halftime of the cowboys/packers playoff game, but those are leaders of yesteryear, the cowboys don’t have that on the coaching staff or on the roster.

Emmitt's legendary shoulder games wasn't in the playoffs. It was at the end of the season for the division and home field vs the Giants.
@rollotomassi4768 That was a heavyweight bout. When Emmitt went down near the end of the 1st half the Cowboys were up 13 -0, but they were held scoreless in the 2nd half and the Giants tied it up. They had to leave one-armed Emmitt in to keep pounding the ball because the Giants' D had been giving Aikman and the receivers fits all day.
What Emmitt did on the OT drive that set up the game-winning FG was incredible. Out of the 11 plays they ran, Emmitt had 6 rushes for 19 yards and 3 catches for 24.
With a separated shoulder. And a bruised sternum.

Believe it or not, the embarrassment of our loss to Green Bay is STILL with me 😢 I can't shake it 😢 I haven't worn ANYTHING with the words Dallas Cowboys on it since that day. I have been a fan of this team since 1975 and I have NEVER felt this way 😕 And then I hear D Law say they were "Tired" and "Burnt Out" in the Green Bay game... That REALLY pissed me off!!! 😡😡😡 But in his defense, I get it. He plays for the richest team in all of sports and the owner was too cheap to go out and find a linebacker. Jerry Jones decided to keep that money in his pocket and have Micah Parsons be his savior... All the while teams are running the ball down our throats because we didn't have a LINEBACKER TO COMPLIMENT HIM AND PARSONS!!! And as far as that goes, Jerry also saw we needed a running back. But what did he do? Absolutely nothing. He just hung everything on Dak and Cee Dee Lamb and hoped for the best. Having a good running back to compliment Dak and a #2 receiver to compliment Lamb would have done wonders for this team!! Jerry knew that but refused to do a dam thing about it 🤷 I will always be a Cowboys fan but I'm done being a SUPER fan. No more going to the games... No more spending money decorating the exterior of my house during the season... No more spending money on jerseys, hats, tee shirts, etc., etc.,... No more spending money on tailgating parties... No more spending money on food and alcohol for away game get togethers at my house... No more arguing with people in public about the Cowboys... No more nothing. I'm sick of it. I'm going to support them from afar from now on.

Its about having a coach that can keep these players focused and beong the voice of the team. With Jerry, he's not going to ever allow that. Yes under Jimmy Johnson so many players had their own shows like they do now. But Jimmy Johnson had the respect of the players and had Jerry biting his toungue.

Emmitt is right. The only part he juked around was culture being set by leadership. Just being able to be drafted or signed to wear the uniform to a certain individual is all the glory that matters. But even though know that last Super Bowl win in 1996 doesn’t count for Jerry “without Jimmy”, and have been unsuccessfully trying to prove otherwise since.
How many times do any of us get to fail at something before it’s time to do something else? Or just hire Jimmy to be the GM?

I think Zimmer is a good hire and I agree he will probably bring a more hard nosed disciplinary style and not coddle these players who do seem a bit entitled and soft. My only question would be why did they not even interview Mike Vrabel??? I heard he was interested in the job but wasn't considered. Not sure if that's true or not. If it is that's typical Jerry Jones who apparently didn't interview (or at least no seriously) anyone else when he hired McCarthy . I think its safe to say McCarthy will be done after next year so have Vrabel in the building to me would be a great succession plan. But hey I would have fired McCarthy 2 years ago so clearly my thought process is a lot different than Jerry's.
This issue is simple to fix. Get rid of the owner trying to be a GM and work your way down.
