There are many types of grief.
Grief implies the mourning of something that is lost or gone forever. The daughter is not dead, she's not left their lives, she didn't disappear.
She can still call, or visit her kid. She ain’t dead, and inappropriate, insensitive to parents who actually lost their kids!
@@hmacklemore2226 she is mourning the life she had when her daughter was living at home before she moved away. That time in her life is gone. Yes, someone can grieve the loss of something like this

I felt she's trying to makes Sunny feel better. It's always another mother who knows how another mother felt.
They had just paid respects to the six people who had died in Gaza, and Whoopi probably thought that although Sunny was missing her daughter, she wasn’t going through the grief of the Six families!! Sunny can be a bit over the top about her family at times, & yes she’s sad and miserable missing her but she’s not in deep grief like those families!!

Nobody needs to die in order for you to grieve. That is not how it’s defined. When someone says they are grieving, it does not mean they are comparing or minimizing anyone else’s experience. You don’t get to tell someone else how they feel or should feel. What was that all about?
Sunny isn’t grieving she’s missing her kid. She can still talk, and see her daughter. There are parents out there like mind who actually lost their daughter, and would give anything to see them one last time. It’s extremely insensitive to say that when they’re people out there actually grieving their kids!
@@blindentertainment9412 did you read my comment? You do NOT have to lose a child to grieve. She is not comparing herself to anyone. She’s talking about HER feelings and how her life is different now that her daughter is away at college.

I need Whoopi to stop policing others feelings, words, and actions; ESPECIALLY when it comes to Sunny. Whoopi can't EVER let Sunny have ONE moment without interrupting her and TELLING Sunny how she's supposed to feel. IT'S ENOUGH ALREADY - STOP IT, WHOOPI! JUST STOP IT!!!
Seriously! When is it going to stop? It’s so hard to watch when she does that. It makes me so mad, she only does it to Sunny. She is jealous of her, idk what else it could be. Sunny is a smart and accomplished woman who doesnt need correcting everytime she speaks.
We don’t know what they talk about outside of the show but I believe Whoopi was reminding Sunny it’s ok to be sad and that your daughter is not gone forever. Sunny can be dramatic at times

I think she was right to clarify the difference in what Sunny feels to what those of us experiencing this different kind of nightmare known as grief that no one asks for nor wishes on anyone else. She was right not to minimize it or let it go unchecked. However, I'm sure most everyone understood what Sunny meant.
Everyone going after Whoopi for correcting Sunny don’t understand what grief really is. Sunny can still call, and visit her daughter, she didn’t actually loss her daughter. There are parents out there like mine who have actually lost their daughter, and would give anything to call, or visit them one last time. Whoopi actually lost her brother, and has seen firsthand how the loss of a child can affect a parent. I applaud her for what she said, and didn’t let Sunny try to act like a victim.

I'm glad Whoopi pointed out sadness and grief are different. I suffer from depression, and when sad people tell me they're "depressed," I'm just like, no, you're not. Sadness and depression are not the same. I spent like two years in bed. That's depression. They are not the same.
I know grief and depression are not the same, but grief and depression have a lot more in common than sadness and depression.
We can all suffer from bouts of depression without being clinically depressed.
Whoopi is a loud mouth bully. Neither one of you have the right to determine how someone should feel about their daughter, and last child leaving home.

Another point of being rich in America you get a few weeks off on holiday and all public holidays whereas the normal 9-5 gets public only I wish Americans got the same holidays as we do in Europe it's extremely unfair
They should have a weekend edition of "The view" and a summer time "View" with different host. I vote for Rosie O'Donnell as the weekend, summer time show moderator. There are lot's of bright, opinionated women who could round out the co-hosts chairs with Rosie.
