Hannah's version of "No Good Deed" is the version of Elphaba that I've always wanted. Not quite evil, but angry and tired and fed up and if you pushed her, her going evil is purely your fault and you will feel it for the rest of your existence.
Yeah, no disrespect to Idina (she's fantastic, seriously), but Hannah performs this so damn well, and even though she's never actually evil, and just pulls a ploy to hide away from everyone that blames her for... well, everything, in this moment she's ready to be the wicked witch they all think she is, and it's so believable! Plus, I loved her choices and adlibs. So good!
Besides her incredible voice, I think Hannah’s phrasing and line reading is just stunning. Every time I watch the performance and she says “Let all Oz be agreed”, I get INSANE CHILLS.
I was able to see her on broadway live when I saw wicked. She is such a new, modern and contemporary version of Elphaba. She was 100% the whole show. She brings so much edgy and difference to the character. She is not a traditional Elphaba and I love it. Hands down one of the best Elphabas.
I saw her in January of 2020 she’s really different from other elphabas, its like she puts a lot of emotion into actually being elphaba rather then just singing the song
So, Hannah’s version of this song made me realize a lot about Elphaba. No Good Deed is Elphaba finally realizing that, without meaning to, she’s been the villain in everyone’s story but hers. Shes finally embracing the role of villain that has been placed on her, and Hannah totally embodies this.
I know you tend to do more feminine/higher range voices but it’d be amazing to see you react to Patrick Page as Hades from Hadestown. Any of the songs he’s in are breathtaking. I’m not sure I knew people could sing that low haha
If there is anyone I want to play Elphaba for the Wicked movie it is HANNAH CORNEAU!!! She is phenomenal. This is my favorite song from Wicked because of Hannah! The hair on my arms stand up, i have goosebumps on goosebumps every time i hear this.
Hers is the only one I've ever heard that ends on the opt up, usually if they do it they start the 'OOO' up there and come back down. I like it this way, it sound more... anguished, I guess.
Side note: Hannah corneaus mixing ability rivals that of Jessica vosks (who is the mixing QUEEN 👑) and that's why she is one of my favourite elphabas 👏
This is the song that define good elphabas. The great climax of the show, when she finally become the wicked witch of the west. what a good performance btw
Wicked is definitely one of my favorite musicals. And you HAVE to go see Wicked when Broadway reopens. It’s a definite must see even if you know all the songs and the storyline- the production is just amazing! I’ve seen it a couple times on Bway and I don’t think I can ever get tired of it. It’s so good!
I SAW HER ON BROADWAY I went to New York in my birthday about 2 years ago and went to see wicked with her as Elphaba It was magical!! I swear everyone was amazing, but Hannah was just incredible! I'm a huge fan of her now ❤❤❤
They both have lower tones, but they have such unique voices and change different things in the song. I saw Jessica when she was with the national tour and she was amazing!
I got to see Hannah on Broadway and her voice was amazing throughout the entire performance, but she is probably one the best ACTING Elphababs I’ve ever seen! She made some amazing choices!
I was lucky enough to see Hannah as Elphaba in November 2019 and I was completely blown away. Her range and emotion she conveys while singing is mindblowing. I was completely immersed in the story because she made the audience FEEL every word she sang. Simply phenomenal.
I get chills every single time I hear hannah sing this song, it's for one an insane important moment in the Wicked story, but also Hannah is singing this soooo impeccable and full of (her) Elphaba's emotions
This is amazing! There’s an acoustic version of no good deed by willemijn verkaik (she did wicked in Germany, the Netherlands, on Broadway and westend!) and it’s 👏🏼incredible👏🏼
THIS is how Elphaba should be performed. A great balance between acting and singing. Not another cookie cutter showy vocal athletics version, she makes it hers. It’s more of an operatic style interpretation, with varying levels of intensity and a really nice rise & fall/back & forth. I’d rather watch this 100 times, than hear one more Defying Gravity cover. This song is HARD.
Please react to Danna Paola! She played elphaba in wicked Mexico and is the youngest elphaba, being 18 years old when she played her. She’s insanely talented especially for being at that young age. She’s obviously a bit older now but it still applies haha.
Ooh her acting is brilliant! Also I have caught lyrics I haven't before due to the clarity of her words. Her voice is out of this world! She makes it seem as if this song is way easier than it is because of how confidently she handles it. She is vocally solid!
Hannah I just love how you really explain everything. I can hear the difference between notes but wouldn't know which note it is but you definitely make me sing a lot better! I listen to your feedback and if it's a song I know I go along with your feedback. You're amazing!
I know literally no singing terms so forgive me if this isn't articulated well, but I love how the way she sang the ending of the word "supply" in the line "one more disaster I can add to my generous supply" is reminiscent of the way the notes at the end of Defying Gravity are sung. The updownupdown thing.
I'm such a low-key fan of Hannah Corneau eversince they caught my attention in RANGE covers. I have no idea about singing or anything about the technicalities of it but I got the same chills when I first whatched this. Love seeing you reating to them 💙
YES i literally was thinking the other day "i wonder if hannah has reacted to this video"!! amazing video :) hannah corneau is for sure one of my fav performers at the moment!!
I don’t care that this video is from three years ago cause MAN does this give me chills and make me grin like an idiot. Back in April I saw her in a small theatre in a musical “A Prelude To A Kiss” and I actually got to meet her and get a pic with her after the play and she was kind and down to earth!! I'd never heard her Elphaba (and my fave is Jessica Vosk), but wow, is she impressive. That line delivery on the second "Fiyero", when she takes it up? Her line readings of "seeking good" and "ice-cold"? Her "so be it then"? The last belt? Chills. CHILLS.
She's UNREAL omgggg!! You should react to sierra boggess and ramin karimloo from the phantom 25th anniversary performance (particularly point of no return or all I ask of you/reprise bc WOWWW) or ben forster singing gethsemane!!
I saw Wicked when I was 13 in the summer of 2014 and fell in love. I was already into singing and musical theater but it cemented my love and appreciation for what goes into it. I ended up applying to and getting into the art school in my city which happens to be the first public performance and visual arts high school in the U.S.A. I was a vocal major and I now have 4 years of classical Vocal training. I also got to do some musical theater, jazz, and others while there and it was an amazing experience. It's a joke between my best friend and me that we would have hated high school if we didn't go to an art school.
hannah was Elphaba in Wicked show which was my first time to watch and she was LITERALLY AMAZING. I still remember it and I regret that I did not get programme. I wish I would be able to watch her wicked show again!!!!!
Binge watching Hannah’s videos (again) and see a reaction video to one of my favourite versions of no good deed! Oh my gosh I have never been this early before!!
I went to see a touring production of wicked in 2008-2009. It was both my first musical I ever saw live that wasn’t a school production, and it was a present from my parents only 6 or so months before my mom passed away. I will always remember that birthday.

Fun fact: The two notes you play at 9:59 are the same tone that you get in a Zoom meeting when someone is trying to join. Yes I was watching this while waiting on someone to show for my meeting! Also your level of shock at the end of watching her video is SO relatable! I couldn't articulate how good this was, just had to go back and watch it again.
Hi Hannah! I know you probably won’t see this but I love you so much and I just found out we have the same birthday! That’s really cool to me and thank you for making me feel safe I love how genuine and helpful you are. 🤎🤎
Willemijn will always be my favourite Elphaba, but if I do not get to see Hannah Corneau live at some stage there will be hell to pay. I really hope she gets the movie role too. She just has an Elphie "vibe" I can't quite put my finger on!

Betsy Wolfe doing “I can do better than that” is so freaking good!! She’s the perfect Cathy. Alison Luff’s “she used to be mine” is also stunning! I know you’ve done a few videos on this song already, but her version is something real special !!
You really need to look into Jemma Rix I promise you won’t regret it!! She sang defying Gravity and Let It Go both before 9 am!! She is the current Aussie Elsa and was our Elphaba from 2008-2015(6?), she has also been Molly in Ghost, Wicked witch in the Wizard of Oz, she has her own album and many more!

I think it's really good, but I feel like this song loses something without the full music
Besides her incredible voice, I think Hannah’s phrasing and line reading is just stunning. Every time I watch the performance and she says “Let all Oz be agreed”, I get INSANE CHILLS.
Yes!!
I was literally going to say this. Previously many words I couldn’t get without looking at lyrics, but her enunciation and phrasing is fantastic
Her tiny bit of vibrato in so many words is also really cool. Maybe you'd even call it tremolo?
@@martinbsmith3 it adds such angst

Side note: Hannah corneaus mixing ability rivals that of Jessica vosks (who is the mixing QUEEN 👑) and that's why she is one of my favourite elphabas 👏
The song comes out of a place of pure pain, pure betrayal and pure anger at the realization of it all. Needs to be sung accordingly. 💚💚💚
