For those people who are bashing critics for calling Kgf series "Overhyped": The Kgf series is for masses. It brings euphoria among fans like no other, because we are barely accustomed to such hyper-realistic elevations of a common man. An intellectual (not all) usually tends to look for nuanced scenes, which Kgf barely has. It may have one or two scenes which fans claim as nuanced, but that's just a relative assessment compared to the whole movie, which generally has a bombastic tone. So, the critics are not wrong. It is just we fans do not (want to) understand their perspective. The only Indian director you could compare Prashant Neel is Rajamouli. Even Rajamouli's movies are remembered for the 'high' moments. The difference is Rajamouli's movies are more mythologically inclined, while Kgf is more contemporary and relies mostly on screenplay effectively depicting unreal heroic moment. And those fans calling Kgf to be a "Graphic novel" are just an emotional bunch.
But it is indeed a graphic novel. Have you read any quality graphic novels, that is not a negative, KGF actually has the feel and narrative style of a graphic novel, it will be impossible to create the atmosphere without that kind of storytelling. I enjoyed KGF, but there’s no denying it is indeed a graphic novel, look at the unrealistic visuals, over the top voice over narration and caricatures of characters. I’m not saying these are bad things, these are great things that allow the story to be told in that manner. Slash off these qualities taken from the graphic novel formats, the film will be laughably underselling the current tone.

Plus Yash has just this angry face the whole time look at Amitabh sir even playing this kind of angry role he had acted well in different scenes according to its requirement. I know he's a legend but still the hype around Yash is too much his acting in scenes with the girl was also awkward.
