- Baseball cards can go for crazy amounts of money. In this video I look at 30 MLB starts and share their most expensive baseball card sale from the past year. I have done a video similar to this where I highlighted the most expesnives sales of all time, but I wanted to focus on recent sales to show much much money is still being put into modern players. From Max Scherzer to Ronald Acuna Jr, we will break down the least and most expensive baseball card sales of each MLB superstar!

Scotty b, could you please do a video on top prices on base cards no autographs no gold no silver no Chrome if you know what I mean, just the base cards! A lot of these cards the only people will ever have it or the rich people or people that save money for these kind of things so please consider the lower income people and do one that is more relevantð

I remember thinking Acunaâs superfractor was a steal. Still think it was a decent price and has upside.. but itâs definitely scarier to own today then a year ago

Good stuff as always! See a few familiar cards here.ðð re: Purples /10..two years 13/14. There is a Betts purple... Never could plunk down big cash for those, rather just go after an orange at that point. Same with those Sotos...that platinum would be cool if had shine, but it's just a dull grey. Agree on the Ohtani. Easily 400-500K at this point. See a red Acuna just went for over 60k? I was a bit shocked it still commanded such a price, all things considered.
Guarentee like 9/10 of these come down considerably in next few years
Would you rather have a PSA 6 1952 topps Willie Mays or a /5 Julio Rodriguez...which there are multiple numbered Julio cards from different Topps sets.

Great video. A few stood out, especially when they were back to back. The Tatis is ridiculous compared to JRod for a similar price. I question the legitimacy of the Tatis sale. There's a veritable army of Tatis bag holders out there probably trying to stabilise the card. That's a crazy price for Tatis given his circumstances. I'm not discounting that folks with lots of money don't care what they pay for a pc card but it still seems sus. I think the most reliable prices are those for players who are close to retirement. That's likely where the card ends up long term. When you compare Verlander with Tatis you realise how little sense the modern sports card market makes. Again, great video. And I had to stop at the ten minute mark.

Not sure if possible, but this would be an interesting video ideaâĶ. So this video has a bunch of talent in the top echelons of active WAR (using Baseball Reference numbers here). Keep going down the list until you find someone with good WAR and the cheapest âhighest sale of the past 12 monthsâ. You donât have to frame it as a bargain, just the opposite of these younger players with little WAR but an expensive high-sale.
So names not on your Top 30 - McCutchen, Semien, Stanton, Heyward, Yelich, Bogaerts and so on.
Also interesting to note-
* Matt Olson had a max sale of $5,160 (2013 Bowman Chrome Orange Auto /25 BGS 9.5) on PWCC that wouldâve put him between #24 & 25.
* Alex Bregman had a max sale of $7,980 (2016 Bowman Chrome Prospects Red Refractor /5 BGS 9.5) on Goldin which puts him between #18 & 19.

I would value the Ohtani Red at 2 million compared to the Acuna and Harper sales.
Imagine if those cards at #2 and #3 were straight 10s. What would they have sold for?
I would also add that Wander still has not been charged with any crimes yet. He is also still taking batting practice regularly, even so, doubt he will ever be welcomed back in the MLB family.

BGS 9.5 is not lower than PSA 10. They are both considered the same grade and gives Beckett the room to utilize the BGS 10 grades, which is higher than PSA 10. While considering the market "prefers" PSA 10's because (insert any random and silly reason here), anyone with 20/10 vision can argue that PSA 10's tend to be of lower quality than BGS 9.5's or even TAG 10's....

Aaron Judge has 281 HRs and is now the record holder for most Home Runs in a players first 1,000 games. He has 2 more than second place, but he also has only played 902 games. Figure a fairly conservative estimate, for him, of a HR every 3 games, that gets him to 33 HRs, give or take, and a total of 314 in his first 1,000 games.
He also.currently has the second best HR/AB in history, behind a steroid cheat named McGwire and beyond a GOAT named Ruth.
Add to this that he is top 15 all time in Slugging and OPS. Add to it the fact that after 902 games he has the 27th highest WAR of any Right Fielder in history. Plus how great he is with fans... Is it any wonder he's one of the biggest draws in the hobby?
It truly is not hyperbolic to say Aaron Judge is one of the 5-10 most impressive sluggers in history. (This isn't saying he's greater than others necessarily, it is just judging what he has done so far)
